  1. It’s sorta a prime time feel but not too much. I’m not mad at it and I’m loving the way they incorporated the actual gate. Clever.
  2. Seeing Angie was such a treat! It was like she had been frozen in time and came back just to have an heart to heart with Sharon. This felt like the type of disaster we used to have on US soaps. A DAYSASTER so to say 😂 It was set up wonderfully with Kathy/Cindy, Stacey/Martin, Bianca/Reiss/Lauren/Sonia; there were laughs, some suspense, and of course a few heart to hearts. Phil’s suicide attempt leading to Nigel revealing his dementia diagnosis was incredible. Every actor really shined. Grants reaction was realistic. Bring on the live episode!!!
  3. It’s been overdone with on Emmerdale more than any British soap IMHO.
  4. Changing the opening back to the one they had in 1985 was a nice touch too if I might add.
  5. That episode had me in tears. Never thought the show could ever make me cry about Phil Mitchell. Kudos to Steve McFadden.
  6. That sucks, as if the Platts need to get any smaller. How are all these exits going to reflect on screen is anybody’s guess. Is it too much to ask for to have Gemma and Cheney exit?
  7. I knew we didn’t have long but it’s still sad and shocking. May she rest in peace
  8. Like rats jumping off a sinking ship
  9. The New Years episodes were seemingly better than Christmas. I agree the cinematography/directing was top notch especially the aftermath episode. It’s unfortunate we don’t get this level of production with American soaps.
  10. Your thoughts about the show are exact the same for me. lol I can tell the show wants to make Denise and Jack endgame but I feel that the only reason we are revisiting Ravi and Denise is simply for plot(The Six and Nish revenge).
  11. I never watched the show when Nigel was on but having him back sharing scenes with Phil have been wonderful.
  12. I didn’t hate the Christmas episode. I love all things Beales, and seeing Ian and Kathy in the center of the mix made me happy. I just wish the stakes were higher and Junior was played by a more dynamic actor. Heck what would’ve made the stakes even more higher would’ve been having Cindy Jr back and maybe having her be into Junior somewhat. It sucks that the show appears to be killing Cindy off again. I feel we should’ve gotten to see her interaction with Cindy Jr onscreen. I would’ve loved to see how she would’ve interacted with Max if he ever came back to Walford. And I just have a feeling that David Wicks will come back eventually down the road and the two of them are must see tv. And you know what? It would be nice to see the show really invest in Cindy and Ian; like really invest in them as a couple and have Ian accept the fact that Cindy will never be sexually satisfied in their relationship and perhaps be open to the idea of a open relationship. Perhaps Cindy eventually realizes that such an arrangement isn’t for her. Can we please get Jac Jossa (Lauren) more fiery material like in the Xmas episodes. After a 12 months of playing someone who was either a victim or a nag she really came alive in those scenes taunting Cindy. Harriet Thorpe (Elaine) is also an actor who has gained her footing in these episodes. Simon Ashdowns episodes have been really hit or miss this year. The Christmas episode an evident sign of that. The Yolande centered episode was more a favorite of mine compared to the actual Xmas episodes.
  13. Dang no Molly and Dex affair 😭 Definitely not a big loss, or loss at all.
  14. It didn’t take long for CVE to revert to his old habits. He’s as allergic to drama as Josh Griffith is on Y&R.
  15. I just feel as if Clyde who sexually abused his daughter Jordan, should’ve never stayed this long, but writers glossed over the Jordan abuse and kept on trying to make him even more dastardly all for the sake of plot. It’s as if Curtis Reed/Paul Mendez (Nicole’s dad) stayed on for years outsmarting the likes of Victor and Stefano.
  16. Add her having premonitions of her own murder. I might have been young watching this play out but Nadine was a favorite quirky little character that I liked very much and hoped one day she’d get a guy that truly valued her, which she’d get a chance to rub Buzz and Billy’s face in it and then she’d ride off happily into the sunset. But no, we got this gruesome mess, and it was around the same time as Frankie’s murder on AW. The P&G soaps were working overtime to turn me off as a viewer (and no addition of flashy new sets such as Bay City Hospital or the new Reardron kitchen could salvage the writing on these soaps).
  17. That scene was indeed powerful. The only thing that I would’ve added to it, would be them replaying audio from the lead up to the last Queen Vic fire (him arguing with Peggy) over the scenes where Phil was fighting and overcoming the urge to drink. Just one nitpick tho that doesn’t take away from how great the scene was.
  18. Those Sharon and Phil scenes from the 12/10 episode were so touching and emotional. This loneliness’s storyline was written for the perfect character( Phil) and Steve McFadden is doing so much with the material.
  19. I would’ve said f!ck it, let’s go with a Brady/Sarah/Xander triangle; just for sh!ts and giggles. I think the show needs to address Brady and his need to hop from one toxic relationship to another, and have him focus on being by himself for awhile but I know that’ll never happen lol
  20. They probably kept her bc the show was losing alot of female characters; from Chloe, Belle, to Nicole. Pairing her up with Brady really doesn’t make sense it, it’s like the writers just looked at the canvas and was like these two are single let’s hook them up. I will say that at least it’s better than Kristen and Brady, but that isn’t saying much
  21. Same it’s watchable, theres just a lot story directions I don’t care for, dragging out of stories, and not enough focus on characters and certain story beats. If it was up to me I would’ve tied Cindy’s affair with the Six, bc Bernie is laughable as a villain and Nish is tiresome. Nish should’ve died a few weeks ago with Suki watching him take his laugh few gasps of air and deciding not to help him this time. The show gets in these lackluster periods embetween returns and Bianca’s appearances lol 😂 if a character isnt making a shock return on our screens or Bianca isn’t being used to help end this Reiss story, there’s not a whole lot of interesting stuff going on.
  22. Oh wow this is such a shock. May he RIP
  23. Oh yeah, Ed Scott is definitely back. This shot is classic Y&R!
