ARTICLE: Adrian Anchondo Exits ‘General Hospital’
Just over a year since making his on-screen debut as Marco Rios on “General Hospital,” Adrian Anchondo is exiting the daytime drama series after his character was killed off on the Wednesday, March 25 episode. Since Friday, fans had been wondering what Marco’s fate would be following his encounter with Ross Cullum (Andrew Hawkes), who had stabbed Sidwell’s (Carlo Rota) son multiple times in his office at Miller & Davis before the young lawyer would later succumb to his injuries while being treated at General Hospital. In a post on Instagram, Anchondo thanked the show’s cast, crew and the fans for embracing him on the show, giving particular shout-outs to executive producer Frank Valentini, casting director Mark Teschner, co-stars Nancy Lee Grahn (Alexis Davis) and Van Hansis (Lucas Jones), among others. “I started this journey with a story about my mother, how she was with me in spirit at my screen test for Marco, hiding in the compact she used to do her make up in while she watched soap operas on the couch,” said Anchondo in his post. “Now, I know she is looking down and proud of me for all the work I’ve done in the past year on one of the best shows ever created. She is proud of me for showing up every day and leading with kindness and respect, for fighting through my insecurities and anxiety, and for letting my heart shine through a character that had questionable intentions. I’m also proud of myself for doing the work, for representing the LGBTQI and Latino community, and for constantly recognizing the magic that every single person on the show creates.” “I know fans are sad (believe me I’m still grieving) but I’m just one small piece in a much bigger picture,” continued Anchondo. “This isn’t about me, it’s about what’s best for the story. I can’t believe the amount of love I’ve received especially in the last few days. I hope I made you proud. To my queer fans, don’t be discouraged, we will keep spreading our love and fighting for that happy ending.” Anchondo went on to thank the show, and its parent company, Disney and ABC, “for making a dream come true.” Meanwhile, he thanked Teschner “for seeing something in me,” while crediting Valentini and the show’s directors “for bringing that something out of me. For the first time ever, more than 9,000 episodes of “The Bold and the Beautiful” will be available in their entirety, all in one place, with new episodes added as they become available, courtesy of the show’s new streaming digital media platform, BBTV (boldandbeautiful.com). Officially launching today, March 23, in honor of the show’s 39th anniversary, BBTV is the new premium subscription hub for fans to access classic episodes and must-see moments, while offering HD-quality access to the show’s extensive library, never-before-seen clips, director’s cuts, interviews and numerous extras, including iconic weddings, proposals, and episodes featuring celebrity guest stars such as Betty White, Fabio, Usher, Wayne Brady, Chaz Bono and Toni Braxton, among others. Additional features include more than 4,000 extended “director’s cuts” of episodes never seen before in the U.S., specials produced over the years, show bloopers and outtakes, original cast auditions s – including star Katherine Kelly Lang’s original 1987 screen test – cast party footage, behind-the-scenes videos, online chat forums for fan connection and community, past and current talent interviews, as well as the documentary “Becoming Bold and Beautiful,” produced in 2016 when the show filmed in Monte Carlo, and much more. “BBTV is not just a streaming service, it’s a heartfelt love letter to our viewers. While down, both legacy CBS soaps still outperform the two other network soaps by leaps and bounds across the board. Except for Beyond the Gates, the three other network soaps (and most of daytime broadcast) are seeing highly inflated audiences compared to their fall 2025 performances.

Need To Know “Beyond the Gates” saw its first-ever year-over-year gain among Total Viewers. “General Hospital” averaged two million viewers for the tenth time in 11 weeks. “The Young and the Restless” ranked No. 1 among soaps in Women 18-49, continues to tie with “The Bold and the Beautiful” season-to-date. Game shows, news and talk were the highlights during the week of March 9-13, 2026, with CBS’ “Let’s Make a Deal” and “The Price is Right” in particular continuing to perform well in the key demos, and marking the largest year-over-year gains among Total Viewers. For the week, both half hours of “The Price is Right” were up +32,000 and +78,000, respectively, week-to-week among Total Viewers and up +441,000 and +524,000, respectively, compared to the same week last year. The second half-hour continued to rank No. 1 across daytime broadcast among Women 18-49 (0.36 rating), Women 25-54 (0.56 rating), Households (2.7 rating) and Total Viewers (4.502 million). Meanwhile, the first half-hour ranked a solid second among Women 18-49 (0.33 rating), Women 25-54 (0.53 rating), Households (2.4 rating) and Total Viewers (4.031 million), and was also up +0.04 year-over-year among Women 25-54 (0.53 rating vs. 0.49 rating). Both half hours were up +0.3 in Households compared to the same week last year. Additionally, the two half hours were virtually on par with their 2024 performance in both Women 18-49 (TPIR2 – 0.36 rating vs. 0.39 rating; TPIR1 – 0.33 rating vs. 0.34 rating) and Women 25-54 (TPIR2 – 0.56 rating vs. 0.57 rating; TPIR1 – 0.53 rating vs. 0.49 rating). Meanwhile, the half hours saw gains compared with their 2024 performances in Households (TPIR2 – 2.7 rating vs. 2.6 rating; TPIR1 – 2.4 rating vs. 2.3 rating) and Total Viewers (TPIR – 4.502 million vs. 4.103 million; TPIR1 – 4.031 million vs. 3.596 million). “Let’s Make a Deal” saw a small uptick among Total Viewers, up +2,000 and +60,000 week-to-week, respectively, while also marking a significant gain year-over-year, up +425,000 and +407,000, respectively. The first half-hour set a new season high among Women 25-54 with a 0.36 rating, while both half hours were up +0.2 in Households compared to the same week last year. Compared to its performance during the same week in 2024, the second half-hour is up +0.02 among Women 18-49 (0.27 rating vs. 0.25 rating), up +0.05 among Women 25-54 (0.41 rating vs. 0.36 rating), up +0.1 in Households (1.6 rating vs. 1.5 rating) and up +303,000 among Total Viewers (2.685 million vs. 2.382 million). Meanwhile, the first half-hour is up +0.01 among Women 18-49 (0.23 rating vs. 0.22 rating), up + 0.05 among Women 25-54 (0.36 rating vs. 0.31 rating), up +0.1 in Households (1.4 rating vs. 1.3 rating), while gaining +290,000 viewers (2.334 million vs. 2.044 million). With 3.230 million viewers tuning in, “The Young and the Restless” averaged more than three million viewers for the seventh consecutive week and regained the top spot among soaps in Women 18-49 (0.23 rating), though it continues to tie “The Bold and the Beautiful” for the season in the key demographic, each with a 0.22 rating. The long-running drama series was up +247,000 viewers year-over-year and was up +0.1 in Households compared to the same week last year. Additionally, compared to its performance during the same week in 2024, “The Young and the Restless” is up +164,000 viewers (3.320 million vs. 3.066 million) and up +0.1 in Households (2.1 rating vs. 2.0 rating) “The Bold and the Beautiful” was flat week-to-week among Total Viewers (2.838 million), but gained +346,000 viewers year-over-year and was up +0.1 in Households compared to the same week last year. Further, compared to its performance during the same week in 2024, the half-hour soap opera was virtually on par among Women 18-49 (0.22 rating vs. 0.23 rating) and Women 25-54 (0.35 rating vs. 0.38 rating), while up +0.1 in Households (1.8 rating vs. 1.7 rating) and +314,000 among Total Viewers (2.858 million vs. 2.524 million). “General Hospital” averaged more than two million viewers for the tenth time in 11 weeks, marking its best overall performance among Total Viewers since Summer 2023. The long-running daytime drama series averaged 2.090 million viewers for the week, up +190,000 compared to the same week last year (2.090 million vs. 1.900 million) and down just 11,000 compared to the same week in 2024 (2.090 million vs. 2.101 million). Among Women 18-49 (0.18 rating), the soap opera was up +0.01 week-to-week, and topped “Beyond the Gates” (0.15 rating) for the first time in four weeks (including ties). Meanwhile, among Women 25-54, the series was up +0.02 week-to-week, tying “NBC News Daily.” In Households, the program retained its 1.4 rating for the sixth consecutive week, and was up +0.2 compared with the same week last year. “Beyond the Gates” averaged 1.619 million viewers for the week, marking the show’s first-ever year-over-year gain among Total Viewers, up +39,000 (1.619 million vs. 1.580 million). The soap opera was virtually on par with the prior performance of “The Talk” during the same week in 2024 among Women 18-49 (0.15 rating vs. 0.16 rating) and Women 25-54 (0.25 rating vs. 0.24 rating), while up +0.3 in Households (1.1 rating vs. 0.8 rating) and gaining +363,000 viewers (1.619 million vs. 1.256 million). ARTICLE: ‘Buffy The Vampire Slayer’ Reboot Canceled At Hulu, Sarah Michelle Gellar Blames Unnamed Male Executive Who Was “Not A Fan Of The Original”
On Saturday, March 14, “All My Children” alum Sarah Michelle Gellar (ex-Kendall Hart) took to social media to announce the cancellation of the “Buffy the Vampire Slayer” reboot that was set up at Hulu and produced by Searchlight Television. “So, I am really sad to have to share this, but I wanted you all to hear it from me. Unfortunately, Hulu has decided not to move forward with ‘Buffy: New Sunnydale,’” shared Gellar in an Instagram reel. “I want to thank Chloé Zhao, because I never thought I would find myself back in Buffy’s stylish yet affordable boots. And thanks to Chloé, I was reminded how much I love her and how much she means not only to me but to all of you. And this doesn’t change any of that, and I promise if the apocalypse actually comes, you can still beep me.” In an interview with PEOPLE, published on Monday, Gellar elaborated further on the show’s cancellation, giving a detailed breakdown of events while also alleging that an executive involved in the project was “was not only not a fan of the original, but was proud to constantly remind us that he had never seen the entirety of the series and how it wasn’t for him.” “That’s very hard when you’re taking a property that is as beloved as Buffy, not just to the world, but to me and Chloé,” continued Gellar. “So that tells you the uphill battle that we had been fighting since day one, when your executive is literally proud to tell you that he didn’t watch it,” says Gellar. According to the actress, who won an Emmy Award in 1995 for her role on “All My Children,” she first learned of the show’s demise on Friday, March 13, while attending the SXSW Film & TV Festival premiere of her first major film project in nearly 20 years, “Ready or Not 2: Here I Come.” “I was just about to take the stage in front of all the fans,” recalled Gellar, who spoke to the outlet via telephone. “Hulu had decided not to move forward with the ‘Buffy’ revival. Let me tell you, nobody saw this coming.” In August 2025, filming began on a pilot for the reboot, which would have starred Gellar reprising her role from the original series that ran for seven seasons across The WB (Season 1-5) and UPN (Season 6-7) and followed Buffy Summers (Gellar), a high school student who discovers she’s the latest in a long line of “Vampire Slayers,” who are chosen by fate to save the world from vampires, demons and other dark forces. “I’ve been asked since the day I left to return to Sunnydale,” stated Gellar, who last played the character in 2003. “And it never occurred to me that it was something I was going to do. Then four years ago, Chloé, the witch that she is — and I say that as a good thing — comes into my life. In one meeting, she makes me say ‘yes’ to something I never saw on my radar. That was because of the deep love and commitment and passion she had for this character. It was like I was stepping back in time.” “No one saw this coming, including the head of Searchlight [Pictures],” said Gellar, referring to the studio that produced her new film “Ready or Not 2,” and was the lead producer for the intended “Buffy” reboot. “I got the call as we were stepping onto the stage for the premiere of their own movie. And it’s also the weekend of Chloé going to the Oscars as a best director nominee for ‘Hamnet.’ For them to call us on the Friday of what should have been Chloé’s victory lap for an incredible film, and my world premiere of something that I worked very hard for is… That says something.” Had Hulu given it a series order, “Buffy: New Sunnydale” would have starred Ryan Kiera Armstrong as the new slayer, with Gellar appearing as Buffy from the original in a recurring capacity. Additional cast from the pilot included Faly Rakotohavana as Hugo, Ava Jean as Larkin, Sarah Bock as Gracie, Daniel di Tomasso as Abe and Jack Cutmore-Scott as Mr. Burke. At press time, Gellar’s initial Instagram reel has amassed more than 8.5 million views, nearly 400,000 likes and 50,000 comments, including from some very prominent soap stars, such as former “General Hospital” actor Adam Huss (ex-Nikolas Cassadine), who said, “@netflix let’s go! I read that script and I loved it!!” Annika Noelle, who plays Hope Logan on “The Bold and the Beautiful,” used a GIF of Oscar-winning actress Jennifer Lawrence that went viral after her appearance on the “Hot Wings” podcast, in which she was quoted as saying, “What do you mean?” Mike Manning “Nooooo. Damn,” stated “Beyond the Gates” star Mike Manning (Bradley “Smitty” Smith). “I was REALLY looking forward to this @chloezhao @sarahmgellar. @hulu ??” “I wish there was a magic wand Dolly could wave. But don’t blame Dolly for this one!” Gellar noted in her PEOPLE interview, referring to the legendary Dolly Parton, who was an uncredited producer on the original series through her company, Sandollar Entertainment. “But the fans, they were the only reason we were doing this show in the first place. We were doing it because everybody loves it. So how do you do a show that’s beloved with someone that doesn’t love it?” Fans hoping for another network or streamer to step in and revive the series elsewhere will have to accept that “Disney owns the IP,” according to a source close to the project, cited by PEOPLE. “As it stands today, it can’t go elsewhere. Earlier this week, CBS and the Golden Globes announced that comedian, writer and actress Nikki Glaser will return as host of “The 84th Annual Golden Globes,” airing live Sunday, January 10, 2027, on CBS and streaming on Paramount+. This marks the third consecutive year in which Glaser will host, following her widely praised performances in 2025 and 2026, during which she made history as the first woman to host the Golden Globes solo. “We are thrilled to welcome Nikki back to the Golden Globes stage in 2027,” said Helen Hoehne, President, Golden Globes. “Her comedic precision, authenticity, and ability to command the room is unmatched, and we can’t wait to see what she has up her sleeve for next year’s show.” “I’m thrilled to host the Golden Globes for a third time, not only because it’s the greatest gig I’ve ever had, but because my sister has three kids and now we will be equal in the eyes of my parents and the Lord,” commented Glaser. ARTICLE: CBS Sets Air Date For ‘The 52nd American Music Awards’
Earlier this week, CBS and Dick Clark Productions (DCP) announced that “The 52nd American Music Awards” (AMAs) will air live coast-to-coast from MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas on Memorial Day, Monday, May 25 (8:00 p.m. ET/5:00 p.m. PT) on CBS and streaming Live and On Demand on Paramount+. Honoring the most influential artists and songs of today, alongside unforgettable performances and special moments, the awards show is a multi-genre, cross-generational celebration of music, with nominations based on key fan interactions as reflected by the Billboard charts, including streaming, album and song sales, radio airplay and tour grosses. Nominations will be announced on Tuesday, April 14. This year marks the second consecutive year CBS will broadcast the awards show, which previously aired on ABC since its inception in 1974, and comes as last year’s telecast reached over 10 million unique viewers across its CBS and Paramount+ premiere on Memorial Day, Monday, May 26, 2025, with encore broadcasts on MTV, CMT and BET. The key is outperforming "The Talk," which CBS canceled due to poor demos and viewership, bad retention following its lead-in and low interest in streaming. As long as Beyond the Gates doesn't crash and burn in linear, and has good numbers on streaming, it'll survive, though it's now competing against itself when looking at year-over-year comparisons.

For the week, “Beyond the Gates” celebrated its first anniversary by setting new season highs among Women 18-49 (0.19 rating) and Women 25-54 (0.30 rating), marking its best performance in the former since the week of August 18-22, 2025, and its best in the latter since the week of September 15-19, 2025. The soap opera topped time slot competitor “General Hospital” in both demographics, while also attracting its third-largest audience ever among Total Viewers (1.781 million), though down a mere 29,000 from the same week last year, when it formally took over the 2:00 p.m. ET/1:00 p.m. PT time period on CBS. Nikki Crawford is set to make her soap opera debut on the Friday, March 6 episode of “Days of our Lives,” playing Lexie Carver, the once thought-to-be-dead wife of Abe Carver (James Reynolds). The role was originated by Renee Jones, who appeared on the drama series from 1993 -2012. The presumed dead Lexie will be revealed to have been kept alive by Dr. Wilhelm Rolf (Richard Wharton) in his mystery lab, with EJ DiMera (Dan Feuerriegel) set to give Abe’s current wife, Paulina (Jackée Harry), a shock when he brings her to the lab to reveal Lexie’s resurrection. In an interview with TV Insider, which first reported the news, Crawford told the outlet that when she auditioned for a role on the show last year, she wasn’t aware she’d be playing Lexie, only learning the details shortly after being cast. “They used another name just because she was such a beloved character,” said Crawford. “So, when I started doing my research, I thought, ‘Oh, well, maybe she’s coming on as Lexie’s sister,’ and it wasn’t until I got the role that they told me, ‘No, you’re the new Lexie Carver.’” While she’s not an avid soap opera viewer, Crawford notes she did her homework on the character before she began taping at the show’s Burbank-based studio. “I don’t watch soaps, but like with any role that I take on, I do extensive research,” she noted. “So, I watched the show. I delved into her backstory through Google searches. There’s so much information and so many websites dedicated to Lexie Carver, so I did a lot of that, and then when I got on set and started working, I started speaking to other actors, and the producers and the directors really filled me in on Lexie’s backstory, which was extremely helpful. The character had gone through so much and so I wanted to embody all of that when she comes back to life.” Although it’s unknown how long Crawford will remain in Salem as Lexie, she says she truly enjoyed working alongside her co-stars, including Reynolds, Harry, Tyler Joseph Andrews, who plays Theo Carver, Lexie and Abe’s son, and Deidre Hall (Marlena Evans). “I played it more like she was in a coma for these last 15 years,” noted Crawford of how she played her scenes. “I really honored who she was, but I also grounded her in who she is. I would say at her core, Lexie is driven by love. Her family is everything to her.
