Flynn's exit is just one of several recent changes behind the scenes at DAYS, with more to come. I'm hearing things aren't great from a financial perspective at the show.

ARTICLE: Heather Tom Wrote, Directed & Acts In An Upcoming Special Episode of ‘The Bold and the Beautiful’ Timed Specifically to Women’s History Month
In a first for daytime television, soap star Heather Tom will act in an upcoming episode of “The Bold and the Beautiful” that she also wrote and directed. The episode is said to be timed to Women’s History Month, which celebrates the contributions of women to events in history and contemporary society and is set to air Thursday, March 27. Joining the show’s cast in August 2007 as Katie Logan, after previously portraying the roles of Victoria Newman on “The Young and the Restless” and Kelly Cramer on “One Life to Live,” among other acting credits, Tom has been a director at “The Bold and the Beautiful” since November 2015, with her first episode airing January 5, 2016. Since then, Tom has gone on to direct several dozen episodes of the soap opera, as well as such shows as “Good Trouble” and “Dynasty,” and even a 2019 episode of “The Young and the Restless,” among other projects she’s directed. Last fall, it was announced that in addition to her acting and directing work at “The Bold and the Beautiful,” Tom had also joined the show’s writing team as a scriptwriter, with her first episode airing Wednesday, November 6, 2024. “Heather will be equally wonderful at writing as she is at acting, and as director, her creative mojo is just off the chart,” said Tom’s co-star Don Diamont (Bill Spencer) during an October 2, 2024 joint interview with Tom on the Michael Fairman Channel. “She is just so gifted and so committed, and it all matters to her. I just cannot say enough. It is the best thing of my career to work with this wonderfully talented woman, and just wonderful person.” Along with co-star Lawrence Saint-Victor (Carter Walton), who is also part of the show’s writing team in addition to appearing on screen, the daytime soap opera continues to highlight the multiple talents of its cast beyond portraying their fan favorite characters. Question for Errol
Because people have been getting away with posting variations of banned words, I implemented a complete stop to those phrases even being uttered on the boards. Therefore, the word must be removed completely for one to post. This is just for a select group of words. If this is in error, please let me know via Email or PM. I can request a reduction in ads by our ad company, but I'd need to know which ad spots in particular are making your time here unpleasant. I would be interested in an app for the SON Community, but the vast majority of people post on a desktop, so it wouldn't be worth it to invest in such a project from a financial standpoint. That said, ads pay the bills and keep the lights on. I can't guarantee any changes or reductions will keep the SON Community alive afterward.

ARTICLE: ‘The Neighborhood’ Renewed For Eighth and Final Season At CBS
Get ready to say goodbye to the Butlers and the Johnsons, as CBS announced on Monday that it has renewed its long-running comedy series “The Neighborhood” for an eighth and final season, which is set to air during the 2025-2026 broadcast television season. “The Neighborhood” stars Cedric the Entertainer as Calvin Butler, the unofficial mayor of his Pasadena neighborhood, where he lives with his loving wife, Tina (Tichina Arnold), and next door to his two older sons, Malcolm (Sheaun McKinney) and Marty (Marcel Spears), and revolves around the Butlers’ unlikely friendship with their new(ish) neighbor, perpetual nice-guy Dave Johnson (Max Greenfield), his wife, Gemma (Beth Behrs), and their now-teenage son, Grover (Hank Greenspan). Skye Townsend also stars in the series as Courtney Pridgeon, Marty’s one-time fling and now co-worker with whom he shares a baby girl. “The brilliant cast and creative team at ‘The Neighborhood’ led by the incomparable Cedric the Entertainer have brought levity, laughter and poignant storylines to Monday nights for seven incredible seasons,” said Amy Reisenbach, president of CBS Entertainment. “‘The Neighborhood’ is a strong ratings performer for CBS and one of the top comedies on TV. We believe the show’s loyal fans deserve a proper farewell season full of the trademark humor and heartfelt moments that are synonymous with the series.” During the show’s current seventh season, the Johnsons have gone from neighborhood newcomers to full-on denizens, truly becoming the best of friends with the Butlers (though Calvin won’t admit it). The two families, who couldn’t be more different, have realized they have much more in common than they ever thought they would. Last month, it was announced that the Season 7 finale of “The Neighborhood” would serve as a backdoor pilot for a potential spinoff series that would star McKinney and Spears, who would segue off the main series if picked up, and finds their characters living in a reverse concept of the mothership series, where Marty and Malcolm embark on new adventures, finally leaving their family home to start the next chapters in their lives, including acquainting themselves as newcomers in a neighborhood both close by but yet worlds apart: Venice Beach. In addition to McKinney and Spears, the planted spinoff would also star “The Young and the Restless” alum Hunter King (ex-Summer Newman), along with actors Justin Long, Kara Royster and Angelique Cabral. Produced by CBS Studios, “The Neighborhood” is averaging 6.4 million viewers with 35-day multiplatform viewing, according to Nielsen. Executive producers include Bill Martin, Mike Schiff, Aaron Kaplan, Wendi Trilling, Cedric the Entertainer and Eric Rhone. The series airs Mondays at 8:00 p.m. ET/PT on CBS and is available to stream Live and On Demand on Paramount+. ARTICLE: ‘S.W.A.T.’ To End With Season 8 on CBS, No Last Minute Reprieve Expected This Time
There will not be a ninth season of “S.W.A.T.,” the CBS police procedural starring “The Young and the Restless” alum Shemar Moore (ex-Malcolm Winters) who played Daniel “Hondo” Harrelson, a former Marine and locally born and raised S.W.A.T. sergeant tasked to run a specialized tactical unit that is the last stop in law enforcement in Los Angeles. A new take on the 1975 series of the same name and the popular 2003 feature film, with the new iteration debuting in the fall of 2017 as part of CBS’ Thursday night lineup, “S.W.A.T.” was famously saved from cancellation after Moore stood up for his cast and crew, noting at the time, “Its all about money, y’all. They said we’re canceled, but guess what I don’t think we’re done.” He also stated at the time, “CBS is either gonna wake up and realize they made a mistake. Sony is gonna do their math and realize that this is not the right move. I hope we can have a kumbaya and come back together and continue this show because it’s a good time for families across the world.” Moore’s comments came on May 6, 2023, one day after the series was abruptly canceled after six seasons, only for the network to come around and order an abbreviated seventh and final season a few days later. Ultimately, the series received another reprieve in May 2024 when the network ordered an eighth season. This time, however, there will not be a last-minute save, as all parties are said to have agreed that the show will end with Season 8. Airing its first two seasons on Thursdays at 10:00 p.m. ET/PT, “S.W.A.T.” was later moved to Wednesday nights for seasons three and four, also airing in the same timeslot. After a brief run airing in an earlier slot on Friday nights at the beginning of Season 5, the show was again moved to Sunday nights for the remainder of that season. By Season 6, the show had landed a more permanent slot on Friday nights at 8:00 p.m, where it had remained for the bulk of its latter seasons, including the unexpected seventh and now final eighth season. “It’s heartbreaking news, primarily because it’s been such an immense pleasure working with this cast and crew to put out a show that we’ve always been proud of,” said the show’s executive producer and showrunner Andrew Dettmann. “They are truly an extraordinary group of people who have all worked so hard and have been so dedicated for all these eight seasons, overcoming countless challenges. I can’t give them enough credit. I feel so privileged to have been a part of the ‘S.W.A.T.’ family.” “It’s been an extraordinary privilege to work on S.W.A.T. for eight seasons and tell the stories of Hondo and 20-Squad,” stated executive producer and former showrunner Shawn Ryan. “I thank our fans, Shemar Moore, the rest of our cast, our producers, Sony Pictures Television, CBS Studios and CBS for the opportunity. Most of all I want to thank our tireless, dedicated crew who made our writers, directors and cast always look good. My greatest concern right now is for them.” A steady performer for CBS, “S.W.A.T.” was one of the rare primetime shows to see improved ratings, with both seasons five and six improving over the performance of Season 4, as well as the latter season improving in the season-to-date ranks over the performance of the former season. Season 7 was also an improvement in the season-to-date rankings, where the show placed 27th on the list of the most-watched shows in primetime, despite airing just 13 episodes for what was then an abbreviated seventh and final season. In addition to Moore, the series also starred Jay Harrington as David “Deacon” Kay, David Lim as Victor Tan, Patrick St. Esprit as Commander Robert Hicks, Anna Enger Ritch as Zoe Powell and Niko Pepaj as Miguel “Miko” Alfaro. Produced by Sony Pictures Television in association with CBS Studios, executive producers include Shawn Ryan, Andrew Dettmann, Justin Lin, Neal H. Moritz, Marney Hochman, Pavun Shetty, Billy Gierhart, Shemar Moore, James Scura, Sarah Alderson and Kent Rotherham. ARTICLE: Chandler Massey Returning to ‘Days of our Lives’
While fans can look forward to his return to “Days of our Lives” in June, along with a slew of others as the daytime drama series continues to celebrate its 60th anniversary season, actor Chandler Massey is set to continue making a few more appearances throughout the year as Will Horton, Soap Opera Network has confirmed. Martha Madison Todd Williamson/Peacock The news was first teased in a recent interview with Soap Opera Digest, wherein actress Martha Madison discussed reconnecting with the family side of her character, Belle Black, as she and her co-stars took part in a 60th anniversary photo shoot. Madison told the outlet, “He wasn’t part of our particular setup for the picture, but I worked with him a lot while he was here.” She added, “We were chatting and stuff behind the scenes. It was nice to have him back. He’s always so funny, and he’s a lot of fun to talk to.” The photo shoot featuring Madison included Diedre Hall (Dr. Marlena Evans), Eric Martsolf (Brady Black), and returning fan favorites Alison Sweeney (Sami Brady) and Greg Vaughan (Eric Brady). “It was done in the [show’s] studio, just down the hall from where we were shooting,” Madison revealed of the shoot. “We’re doing a lot around the anniversary on the show, and so everyone was kind of back for that. It’s always so fun when we do these big umbrella events, because everybody is there. I love that they really paired us all together in families, not just couples. It was really special to be in the Brady/Black family photo. We don’t get to do that very often.” Massey’s initial return to “Days of our Lives” was first teased last fall when the series announced several fan favorites, including Matthew Ashford (Jack Deveraux), Christie Clark (Carrie Brady), Leann Hunley (Anna DiMera), Victoria Konefal (Ciara Weston), Thaao Penghlis (Tony DiMera), Melissa Reeves (Jennifer Horton) and Charles Shaughnessy (Shane Donovan), would be reprising their roles. Filmed in October 2024, the actors are all set to appear in episodes airing in June, with Ashford and Reeves expected to return for another round later this year, as revealed by their onscreen son Casey Moss (JJ Deveraux) in an Instagram story he posted last month, who said in the caption, “couldn’t be more grateful to be part of such a legendary family. #thehortons Happy 60th Days family.” Check out a promo for the 60th anniversary season below. ARTICLE: Steve Burton & Fiancée Michelle Lundstrom Move In Together, Share Photos of Orange County Digs
Just over two months since announcing their engagement, “General Hospital” star Steve Burton (Jason Morgan) and former “Barbecue Showdown” contestant Michelle Lundstrom have officially moved in together, with Lundstrom announcing she has moved her things across the country to their home in California’s Orange County. “I’m walking on sunshine no matter how many boxes are left to unpack,” said Lundstrom on Instagram. “Thank you for all the well wishes on our move to California! My @traegergrills are unloaded and ready to rock. NEW weeknight meal recipe coming real sooooon! Expect lots of #highproteinrecipes too! Sending so much love.” Lundstrom’s post included several photos from their new digs, including her prized Traeger-branded grill, a hot tub, plenty of greenery, a view of the Pacific Ocean, and clear blue skies. On January 3, 2025, Burton officially proposed to Lundstrom, announcing the news the next day on Instagram. In the post caption, he paraphrased the bible verse Jeremiah 29:11, which says, “‘For I know the plans I have for you,’ declares the Lord, ‘plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.’” Burton formally announced he and Lundstrom were dating in May 2024, according to a post by Daily Drama. While it’s unclear when they became official, the couple made their first public outing as a couple on June 7, 2024 during “The 51st Annual Daytime Emmy Awards.” “Our first red carpet together. It was a dream of a night from beginning to end. Thank you for all the beautiful kind comments & messages. I’m truly grateful,” Lundstrom captioned in an Instagram post at the time. Lundstrom is best known as a contestant during the second season of Netflix’s Barbecue Showdown” (formerly “The American Barbecue Showdown”). The food competition series followed the best backyard smokers and competitive barbecuers competing for the title of American Barbecue Champion. Season 2 concluded in May 2023. While she didn’t win the competition, having been eliminated during the season’s sixth episode (out of eight), Lundstrom made a memorable impression on the judges and viewers at home. BTG: March 2025 Discussion Thread
Right! It's been so long. I'm happy this thread is seeing lots of interactions, but it's only been one week and we're on page 81! Even for a weekly thread, that is HUGE! As you said, it'll eventually taper down, but I'm not sure if that's a good thing or a bad thing for the show. We shall see. The posters will decide where things go from here, of course.

ARTICLE: L.A. County Superior Court Judge Denies Motion By Fired ‘General Hospital’ Star Ingo Rademacher To Reopen Wrongful Termination Lawsuit Against ABC
A Los Angeles County Superior Court judge has denied a motion by former “General Hospital” star Ingo Rademacher (ex-Jasper “Jax” Jacks) to have his wrongful termination lawsuit revived against ABC. As previously reported, back in November 2024, Rademacher had sought to have his previously dismissed case against the network reopened, citing the network’s decision to rehire Steve Burton (Jason Morgan) despite both actors previously being let go in 2021 due to their non-compliance with the since-rescinded vaccine mandate by ABC parent The Walt Disney Company. Judge Stephen Goorvitch ruled on Rademacher’s lawsuit in June 2023, siding with ABC, wherein he indicated that Rademacher’s opposition [to getting vaccinated] was “based on health reasons rather than his religious leanings.” According to court documents obtained by In Touch Weekly, the judge denied Rademacher’s new motion on Tuesday, February 25, determining that ABC’s decision in rehiring Burton does not indicate the fired actor was terminated for his political beliefs, and further, Rademacher would have to file a new lawsuit if he wanted to raise such an argument in court. Additionally, the motion for a trial was denied. Laura Wright, Steve Burton Christine Bartolucci/Disney In January 2024, ABC announced that it had rehired Burton to reprise the role of Jason Morgan on the daytime drama series, with his return appearance on screen taking place in the March 4, 2024 episode of the series. In opposition to Rademacher’s motion, lawyers for ABC said Burton was rehired “years after the end of the COVID-19 global health emergency and at a time when [the network’s] vaccine mandate was no longer in effect. Thus, his rehiring has no logical impact on [Ingo’s] claims.” The lawyer representing Rademacher previously stated that new evidence provided “compelling support for his political discrimination claim: namely, evidence that ABC rehired Steve Burton, the other ‘General Hospital’ actor it let go supposedly because of its mandatory COVID-19 vaccination policy.” They also noted, “ABC’s rehiring of Mr. Burton, which occurred while this case was on appeal confirms that ABC got rid of Ingo because it did not like his political views. It confirms that ABC did not merely lay Ingo off, with the intent of bringing him back later, as it did with [Steve]. It re-cast his role. It replaced him, or is in the process of replacing him, with another actor.” Other forms of evidence cited by Rademacher’s attorneys include alleged text messages from producers of the soap opera where the actor was referred to as an “ignorant racist” and a “nut.” “These text messages related to social media posts that Ingo made during the key period in this case, when the ‘General Hospital’ writers supposedly ran out of ideas for his character,” said Rademacher’s lawyer in their filing last fall. The court had previously denied Rademacher’s request to reopen discovery at a prior hearing. Rademacher first joined the cast of “General Hospital” as Jasper “Jax” Jacks in 1996, originating the role of a rich Australian businessman who found himself enamored with Brenda Barrett (Vanessa Marcil). The character continued to appear off and on until November 2021, when Rademacher made his final appearance on the daytime soap opera. Note: The post L.A. ARTICLE: ‘Happy’s Place’ Renewed For Season 2 At NBC
After a successful freshman season that saw the show’s pilot episode amass 17.6 million viewers across all platforms, up +338% from its initial broadcast on October 18, 2024, NBC has ordered a second season of “Happy’s Place,” starring Reba McEntire. The series is about a woman named Bobbie (McEntire) who inherits her father’s tavern (Happy’s Place) and is surprised to discover that she has a new business partner, Isabella (Belissa Escobedo), a twenty-something half-sister she never knew she had. Called “nostalgic, funny and heartfelt” by Variety, while the A.V. Club touted the show’s “comforting familiarity to its rhythms and its jokes, to its plots and its characters,” the series has rejuvenated NBC’s Friday lineup, improving its 8:00 p.m. ET/PT slot by 54% among Total Viewers and is the second best comedy launch on Peacock ever, behind only the network’s other freshman series “St. Denis Medical,” which was also renewed for a second season. In addition to McEntire, the series stars include Belissa Escobedo, Melissa Peterman, Pablo Castelblanco, Tokala Black Elk and Rex Linn. Created by Kevin Abbott and Julie Abbott, “Happy’s Place” is produced by Universal Television, a division of Universal Studio Group, with executive producers Kevin Abbott, Reba McEntire, Michael Hanel, Mindy Schultheis, Matt Berry and Pamela Fryman. Overall, NBC notes that “Happy’s Place” and “St. Denis Medical” have reached nearly 45 million viewers across linear and digital platforms this season. ARTICLE: NBC Orders Pilot For Untitled Tracy Morgan Single-Camera Comedy, Reuniting Actor With ’30 Rock’ Producers Tina Fey, Robert Carlock & Sam Means
NBC has handed a pilot commitment order for an untitled Tracy Morgan single-camera comedy, which will see the former “Saturday Night Live” and “30 Rock” star reteam with Tina Fay, the latter series’ creator, who will also serve as one of the potential show’s executive producers, alongside Morgan. Written by Robert Clark and Sam Means, the comedy sees Morgan portraying a disgraced former football player on a mission to rehabilitate his image. Clark and Means will executive produce with Fey, Morgan, Eric Gurian and David Miner. Rhy Thomas is set to direct and executive produce the pilot, which Universal Television, a division of Universal Studio Group, where Carlock, Means and Fey have overall deals, is producing with Little Stranger, Bevel Gears and 3 Arts. Morgan will next star in the Paramount+ half-hour comedy series “Crutch,” which is scheduled to premiere later this year on the streaming service. His deal allows him to star in both projects should the NBC pilot get picked up by the network and “Crutch” continues beyond its initial series order. NBC recently renewed freshman comedies “St. Denis Medical” and “Happy’s Place” for second seasons, set to air during the 2025-2026 television season. ARTICLE: ‘Beyond the Gates’ Splashes In Debut, ‘The Young and the Restless’ & ‘The Bold and the Beautiful’ Hit Season Highs Among Key Demos
Days of our Lives has never been touted as the reason people subscribed to Peacock. Not saying people didn't jump at the chance and do so, nor not saying the show isn't successful on the platform, but let's not for one minute think it's the sole reason Peacock is still in business. Everything they have released on the subscriptions has always been referenced by sports as the main driver of success. Other than my note about Peacock, I agree with you. Soaps are helping keep churn low and maintaining subscribers at the service. That's the main goal. Soaps, sports, and a LOT of classic broadcast programming are what are doing the best for the streamers. Their originals, not so much, unless they are Netflix, of course. That said, live viewing on traditional broadcast does have a huge impact on the bottom line. This is evidenced by today's announcement of layoffs across ABC News, including GMA, GMA3, 20/20 and Nightline, along with even World News Tonight with David Muir. When ratings for traditional television reach record low levels, the money starts to dry up. Therefore, while streaming helps combat that, it won't ultimately save everything.
