ARTICLE: ‘The Bold and the Beautiful’ and ‘The Young and the Restless’ Air Repeats in Place of Originals Due to CBS News Coverage of Ongoing Conflict in Ukraine
Due to President Biden’s address on the situation in Ukraine, today’s regularly scheduled all-new episodes of “The Young and the Restless” and “The Bold and the Beautiful” will instead be seen tomorrow, February 25, in their entirety, CBS announced this afternoon. In place of original episodes, repeats for both soaps were quickly inserted with “The Young and the Restless” airing a November 2019 episode in which Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman) took a trip down memory lane as he read the completed Abbott family memoir. The episode included flashbacks and featured several characters and actors who haven’t been seen in quite some time or have passed on the show and in real life. On “The Bold and the Beautiful,” a July 2017 repeat from Monte Carlo was shown which pit Spectra vs. Forrester for a charity fashion show in which Sally Spectra (Courtney Hope; now appearing on “The Young and the Restless”) and Steffy Forrester (Jacqueline MacInnes Wood) pull out all the stops for the ultimate money showdown. Social handles for both soaps shared an additional update on the situation, stating, “The all-new episode will air at our next regularly scheduled time, so you won’t miss a minute.” “The Young and the Restless” and “The Bold and the Beautiful” air weekdays on CBS. Lindsay Hartley (“General Hospital,” “Passions”) has quickly emerged as the go-to director for romance gon awry, and her latest thriller for free to view streaming service Tubi takes things a step further when the classic tale of Romeo & Juliet goes beyond star crossed lovers kept apart by rivaling families. In “Romeo & Juliet Killers,” set for release on Friday, February 25, viewers will witness a dramatic interpretation of the ripped from the headlines true crime story of a rebellious teen and her boyfriend who murdered her single mother in their upscale, gated community in Northern California and were dubbed a modern-day “Romeo and Juliet” when they ran away and attempted suicide. Courtesy of Tubi In the movie, Kelly Sullivan (“General Hospital,” “The Young and the Restless”) plays Joanne, a mother trying to protect her underage daughter, Tyler (Leigha Sinnott), from a boyfriend who seems to have no problems with getting intimate with a girl who has yet to come of legal age. It’s forbidden love, twisted desire, and a dangerous obsession all rolled into one. Watch the trailer below. Y&R February 2022 Discussion Thread
I was following along, nodding my head thinking how this seems like how it'll go down on the show...okay, we're following the expected beat. Then I saw the bolded parts. I burst out laughing. THAT's actually what'll probably happen! Haha! Why are you so good at this? Visually, I saw all of this happening as if it actually did! Wow. You're really good at this. I especially like Allie and Chance, of course this depends on how old they want to present Allie.

ARTICLE: Finola Hughes Calls Wes Ramsey “A Consummate Professional” as Actor Exits ‘General Hospital’
In a post on Instagram dedicated to her now former co-star, “General Hospital” actress Finola Hughes (Anna Devane) called Wes Ramsey “a consummate professional” following the dramatic conclusion to the Henrik Faison storyline which began in 2017. Better known as Peter August (Ramsey), Henrik Faison was the son of Cesar Faison and Alex Devane (also played by Hughes). The character was behind the deaths of Jason Morgan (Steve Burton) and Franco Baldwin (Roger Howarth; now appearing as Austin Gaitlin-Holt) and the yearslong capture of Drew Cain (Cameron Mathison), among a multitude of other crimes. Finola Hughes, Kirsten Storms (“General Hospital”) Photo by Troy Harvey/ABC On the Wednesday, February 23 episode of the daytime drama series, Peter died after succumbing to his injuries from being hit over the head with a tire iron by Felica Scorpio (Kristina Wagner) who was protecting her daughter from Peter who was holding Maxie (Kirsten Storms) at gunpoint. Peter subsequently fell down an embankment and later died after Anna reveals she never called for an ambulance. With no one left around after Drew escorted Felicia and Maxie away from the scene, Anna told Peter that Maxie and their daughter, Louise, will no longer have to fear him once he was gone. Anna then wished Peter to be at peace as he dies with his eyes wide open. A tearful Anna who had been holding his hand closed Peter’s eyes and walked away from his body. Finola Hughes, Wes Ramsey (“General Hospital”) Photo by Troy Harvey/ABC “You are Renaissance man, a consummate professional. Thank you @wes_ramsey for being a great scene partner. Thank you for bringing your ‘A’ game each and every day to #GH. It’s been a pleasure exploring all the strange grey areas of a story where the villains were sometimes the victims, and the heroes weren’t always in the right,” read the beginning of Hughes’ post dedicated to Ramsey. “You trod some difficult terrain and carried it with grace and dignity. Your chilling poise as the character, and transparent wound made working opposite you fulfilling and always surprising. To everything the road ahead brings you, to the moon,” said Hughes, using a “moon” emoji to emphasize her feelings. “So well said,” commented Mathison of Hughes’ post. “Beautiful!” stated Maura West (Ava Jerome). In a post of his own, posted mere hours after his last episode aired, Ramsey said, “Thank you for taking the journey with me. To those who were kind & supportive, my heart has felt inspired by you. To my friends & family (& the fans everywhere), it has been an honor to give everything I had to this & I will never forget how fun it was to entertain you.” Real-life love Laura Wright who plays Carly Corinthos on the soap responded to Ramsey’s post, saying, “I love you baby !!!! You kicked ass !!!” See Hughes’ post to Ramsey below. “General Hospital” has decided to recast the contract role of Jordan Ashford with actress/model Tanisha Harper. She replaces Briana Nicole Henry who exited the series in September 2021. “Rules were meant to be broken…because if they weren’t I wouldn’t have a job! ARTICLE: Wes Ramsey Concludes Run as Peter August on ‘General Hospital’ – WATCH
Wes Ramsey’s run as Peter August on “General Hospital” has come to an end, and this time it doesn’t appear to be a fakeout. On the Wednesday, February 23 episode, his character perished after succumbing to injuries incurred at the hands of Felicia Scorpio (Kristina Wagner) as she saved her daughter, Maxie (Kirsten Storms), from Peter once and for all. In the episode, Peter was hit over the head with a tire iron that Felicia found in the trunk of her rental car while Peter was shown pointing a gun at Maxie, threatening to shoot her if she didn’t come away with him which Maxie refused. After being hit in the head, Peter slid down an embankment and fell into the snowy ground below, visibly unconscious. Maxie then picked up Peter’s gun which had fallen by his side. Later, with their guns drawn, Anna (Finola Hughes) and Drew (Cameron Mathison) come across Felicia’s crashed car and follow their trail until they see what has happened to Peter. Seeing that Peter needs medical attention, Anna tells the group that she’ll call for an ambulance even though the world would be better off without Peter who had regained consciousness moments earlier. Drew ushers Felica and Maxie away after Anna makes it clear to Felicia that she did nothing wrong – she was protecting her daughter in self-defense. After ensuring no one is left around to hear them, it becomes abundantly clear that Anna did not call for an ambulance after all. In fact, she wanted to be there when Peter died, telling him that Maxie and Louise no longer had to fear for their lives with him gone. In the end, Anna wishes Peter to be at peace as he dies with his eyes wide open. A tearful Anna who had been holding his hand until the end closed Peter’s eyes and walked away from his body, leaving viewers to still have a suspicion that Peter could come back later as a twin or an alive Peter. Except, portrayer Wes Ramsey recently posted what would appear to be a goodbye and thank you note to the fans, producers, writers and his co-stars. “Thank you for taking the journey with me,” began Ramsey’s message posted on Instagram. “To those who were kind & supportive, my heart has felt inspired by you. To my friends & family (& the fans everywhere), it has been an honor to give everything I had to this & I will never forget how fun it was to entertain you. “To the cast & crew, thank you for welcoming me into your world & for giving me a chance to play with you each day. To the writers, producers & directors, thank you for trusting me with all we did together. It was one helluva ride…” Ramsey closed out his post using the hashtags “GH,” “Peter August,” “Actor’s Life” and “My Dreams Came True.” Real-life love Laura Wright who plays Carly Corinthos on the soap responded to Ramsey’s post, saying, “I love you baby !!!! You kicked ass !!!” Hughes also commented, stating, “It was a privilege to play opposite you, thank you for always being present, available and having grace and integrity to boot. Love ya Wes. Thank you for being a chilling yet wounded character. You left it all on the stage…..” Watch Ramsey’s final moments as Peter August on “General Hospital” below. Ramsey joined the cast of “General Hospital” in 2017 as Peter August, also known as Henrik Faison. The character was the son of Cesar Faison and Alex Devane. He had a daughter with Maxie who decided to keep away from Peter by pretending the child, Louise, had been kidnapped all the while she was living in plain sight being raised by Brook Lynn Quartermaine (Amanda Setton) who passed her off as her daughter, Bailey Lois Quartermaine. Prior to his run on “General Hospital,” Ramsey starred in “Venice: The Series,” “CSI: Miami” and “Guiding Light,” among others. In 2009, he had a role on “Days of our Lives.” In 2003, he starred in the critically acclaimed cult classic, “Latter Days,” playing Christian Markelli, a promiscuous gay party animal who falls in love with a Mormon missionary (Steve Sandvoss). ARTICLE: Coroner’s Office Defers Cause of Death of ‘General Hospital’ Actress Lindsey Pearlman, “Pending Additional Investigation”
The death of “General Hospital” actress Lindsey Pearlman garnered international attention on Friday when it was announced her body had been found days after she was reported missing by her family to the Los Angeles Police Department. Now comes word that following an autopsy the coroner has “deferred, pending additional investigation” her cause of death. According to the LAPD, at around 8:30 a.m. on Friday, February 18, officers responded to a radio call for a death investigation at Franklin Avenue and North Sierra Bonita Avenue. The body was later confirmed to be that of Pearlman whose full name was Lindsey Erin Pearlman. “The cause of death will be determined by the coroner,” the department said in a statement at the time. Per Deadline, Sarah Ardalani, a spokeswoman for the Los Angeles County coroner’s office, said of Pearlman, “She was examined by a physician and a cause of death was deferred.” She noted, “Deferred means that after an autopsy, a cause of death has not been determined and the medical examiner is requesting more investigation into the death, including additional studies. Once the tests/studies come back, the doctor evaluates the case again and makes the cause of death determination.” It can take several weeks before any updates can be provided on the manner and time of death. In the meantime, the case remains open and is being investigated by the police. “The police found Lindsey. She’s gone. I’m broken,” read a message posted on Instagram by Pearlman’s husband, Vance Smith, on Friday, February 18. “I will share more later, but I wanted to [sic] thank you to everyone for their love and efforts and ask you to respect the privacy of her family at this time.” Smith’s Instagram account has since gone private. “Lindsey was a fierce animal advocate and a talented actress. Please consider a donation to @SanteDOr in her honor,” read a message on Twitter by Pearlman’s cousin, Savannah, who had been relentlessly seeking the public’s help in finding Lindsey. “Lindsey Pearlman was terrific on @GeneralHospital and we are saddened to hear of this tragedy. Our hearts go out to her family and friends,” said “General Hospital” executive producer Frank Valentini. In addition to her recurring role on “General Hospital,” Pearlman’s other television credits included such shows as “Selena: The Series,” “American Housewife,” “The Purge,” “Chicago Justice” and “Empire,” among others. She also appeared as the lead in such films as “Signal to Noise” and “Pry Me Open.” In theatre, she appeared in numerous productions, including “Trevor,” “The Eight: Reindeer Monologues,” and “The Last Days of Judas Iscariot.” According to her website, Pearlman was a graduate of The Second City Conservatory and had been an active member in the Chicago theater scene before relocating to Los Angeles for more on-camera opportunities. Pearlman was just 43 years old. ARTICLE: Is Today the Day to Watch ‘General Hospital’?
As we reported earlier this month, the Tuesday, February 22 episode of “General Hospital” is the episode you’ve been waiting for! Peter August (Wes Ramsey) is expected to finally meet his match or maker with the way things are going as shown in a promo for this week’s episodes and recent blurbs in both TV Guide Magazine and Soap Opera Digest. Ultimately, it looks like the people of Port Charles will be ridding themselves of the bad guy once and for all! Wes Ramsey, Kirsten Storms (“General Hospital”) Photo by Craig Sjodin/ABC “Can anything or anyone stop Peter August (Wes Ramsey) from terrorizing distraught ex Maxie (Kirsten Storms), their baby Louise and all of Port Charles? Today, he may finally get his comeuppance,” read the write-up in the latest issue of TV Guide, on newsstands now, giving viewers a hard date on when to tune in for the ultimate payoff. Meanwhile, in an interview with Digest, co-head writers Chris Van Etten and Dan O’Connor spoke with the magazine about what viewers can expect as the walls close in on Peter now that law enforcement and the people that love Maxie the most are all converging on their whereabouts in Switzerland. “He is desperate to stay even half a step ahead of them,” says Van Etten of Peter’s thinking. As for Maxie’s thought process, O’Connor shares, “Maxie has convinced herself that she will find a way to let the people she cares about know where they are and how to rescue her.” As viewers will recall, when Anna (Finola Hughes) and Chase (Josh Swickard) recovered Louise at the fire station back in Port Charles, Maxie had left behind a small trinket that could be used to clue others in on where Peter might be taking her, which is exactly what Anna needed to get the ball going in finding them. “Anna feels a certain level of responsibility for bringing Peter into everybody’s lives,” O’Connor noted to Digest of where Anna’s head is in all of this. “She is seeing firsthand the consequences of all the times she protected Peter. She is determined to find Peter, to bring him to justice and to right the wrongs that he has done.” Working alongside Anna is Dante (Dominic Zamprogna) and Drew (Cameron Mathison), and unknowingly, Felicia (Kristina Wagner), Maxie’s mother. “Felicia has been out of that game for a while,” says O’Connor of the character’s previous private investigator experience, adding, “but that’s not going to stop her from making sure she has an active role in bringing her daughter home.” Photo by Craig Sjodin/ABC While the good guys are working to take down the bad guy, there’s another bad guy who might get to take care of Peter himself. Enter Victor Cassadine (Charles Shaughnessy). “He has a mysterious connection to Peter, and Victor has seen Peter slip away from the authorities more than once,” shares Van Etten of Victor’s motivations. “Victor is out to protect his own skin, and that might mean getting to Peter before anybody else does. So, the heroes find themselves with stiff competition for the award of capturing or taking down Peter.” Speaking of capturing or taking down Peter, Van Etten is certain this is the time to watch “General Hospital.” He explains, “Since Peter landed in Port Charles four years ago, he has left a trail of disruption and broken bodies, beginning with his own father and his own brother – and if you have been waiting to see Peter finally face justice for what he’s done, this is the week you can’t miss.” Watch this week’s promo below. ARTICLE: Anthony Morina Files Legal Response to Briana Thomas Wrongful Termination Lawsuit Over ‘The Young And The Restless’ Firing
Similar to Sony Pictures Television Inc. and Sony Pictures Entertainment Inc. in December, “The Young and the Restless” executive producer Anthony Morina earlier this month formally submitted his legal response to a lawsuit filed by former background actress Briana Thomas who appeared on “The Young and the Restless” in 2018 and 2019 as a barista. Courtesy of Sony Pictures Television Thomas is suing Morina, Sony and CBS, for wrongful termination. She alleges that during the time Morina had been the show’s supervising producer he sexually harassed her on a number of occasions, stating he would cozy up to her and give her compliments about her looks, often telling her she could “really be something” on the show. After rebuffing him and his advances, including his offer of a “private acting lesson,” Thomas alleges she was subsequently fired from the show. As Sony did before him, Morina’s filing notes he is “answering for himself and no others,” in response to the “unverified” Complaint for Damages (“Complaint”) filed by Plaintiff Briana Thomas (“Plaintiff”). Morina (“Defendant”) provided three instances for General Denial, including: Pursuant to California Code of Civil Procedure Section 431.30(d), Defendant denies, generally and specifically, each and every allegation contained in Plaintiff’s Complaint and each and every cause of action therein. Defendant further denies that Plaintiff has sustained any injury, damage or loss by reason of any act or omission on the part of Defendant, and specifically denies that Plaintiff suffered any of the damages alleged in the Complaint.Defendant further denies that Plaintiff is entitled to any relief against Defendant on any ground whatsoever, and denies that Plaintiff is entitled to damages against Defendant in any amount. For his Affirmative and Other Defenses statement, Morina’s filing states, “Having fully answered the allegations in the Complaint, Defendant asserts the following additional affirmative and other defenses. In so doing, Defendant does not allege or admit that he has the burden of proof and/or persuasion with respect to any of these matters.” There are 10 Affirmative Defenses or set of facts that Morina uses as he seeks to dismiss the claims brought against him by Thomas in her civil suit. Failure to State a ClaimThe Complaint, and each and every cause of action therein, fails to state facts sufficient to constitute a cause, or causes, of action against Defendant.Statute of LimitationsThe Complaint, and each and every cause of action therein, is barred by the applicable statute(s) of limitations, including, without limitation, California Code of Civil Procedure Sections 335.1, 337, 338, 339, 340, California Civil Code Sections 52(b)(2), California Government Code Sections 12960(d) and 12965(b), and California Business and Professions Code Section 17208.Laches/Waiver/Estoppel/Unclean HandsThe Complaint, and each and every cause of action therein, is barred by the equitable doctrines of laches, waiver, estoppel, and unclean hands.Preemption: Collective Bargaining AgreementThe Complaint, and each and every cause of action therein, is barred because the grievance and arbitration provisions of a collective bargaining agreement constitute the exclusive procedure for resolution of some or all of the claims alleged in the Complaint.Failure to Exhaust: Collective Bargaining AgreementThe Complaint, and each and every cause of action therein, is barred because Plaintiff’s exclusive remedy for some or all of the wrongs alleged in the Complaint are contained in the collective bargaining agreement, which Plaintiff failed to exhaust. No Individual LiabilityThe Complaint, and each and every cause of action therein, is barred against Defendant because he was not Plaintiff’s employer, and any actions taken toward Plaintiff were within Defendant’s job duties, Defendant’s managerial discretion, and the scope of personnel management.Lack of Employment RelationshipThe Complaint, and each and every cause of action contained therein, fails to state any cause of action against Defendant because he was not Plaintiff’s employer as a matter of fact or law, including without limitation the California Fair Employment and Housing Act, California Government Code Sections 12900 et seq.No PenaltiesThe Complaint, and each and every cause of action therein, is barred in whole or in part, on the grounds that Plaintiff is not entitled to general and other penalties under the California Labor Code, including, but not limited to, waiting time penalties under California Labor Code Section 203. With respect to waiting time penalties under California Labor Code Section 203, Plaintiff was paid all wages owed at termination, and regardless, any alleged failure to pay all wages due at termination was not willful and/or there existed a good faith dispute as to the amount of compensation owed, if any, at the time of termination.Failure to Mitigate While Defendant denies that Plaintiff has been damaged in any way, if it should be determined that Plaintiff has suffered legally recognizable damages, such damages must be reduced or denied in their entirety to the extent that Plaintiff has failed to take reasonable action to mitigate or minimize Plaintiff’s alleged damages. Additional Affirmative DefensesDefendant presently has insufficient knowledge or information upon which to form a belief as to whether it may have additional, as yet unstated, affirmative defenses available. Defendant reserves the right to assert additional affirmative defenses in the event discovery indicates that it would be appropriate. Morina is asking for judgment as follows: That Plaintiff takes nothing by way of the Complaint; That the Complaint be dismissed with prejudice and judgment entered in favor of Defendant; That Defendant be awarded his costs of suit; That Defendant be awarded attorneys’ fees pursuant to statute and/or contract; and For such other and further relief as the Court deems just and proper. Representing Morina is lead attorney Marissa Franco of Davis Wright Tremaine LLP. The firm is also representing Sony and CBS. In her 22-page lawsuit filed in August 2021, Thomas claims that Morina once complained about having to attend sexual harassment training sessions in the wake of CBS’ investigation into sexual harassment allegations brought against then CEO Les Moonves. Morina reportedly called the training sessions “bullshit” and that some “bitches” had “their panties in a bunch” and “didn’t know how to take a compliment.” The suit also claims that Morina once referred to a Black actress with short hair, saying, “[she] has a hot body, but it is too bad her head looked like a Chia Pet.” “I’m the reason why you have a job,” Morina allegedly told Thomas at one point as he offered her “private acting lessons,” Deadline reported. “I am doing you a favor. I like you. Do you understand what I’m saying?” Representing Thomas in her lawsuit is Carney Shegerian of Shegerian & Associates, the same lawyer who filed a lawsuit accusing Mike Richards, the now former host and executive producer of “Jeopardy!” While he was overseeing things at “The Price is Right,” Richards was accused of discriminating against a pregnant model. He denied the allegations. Thomas is seeking several forms of damages, including “unpaid wages, premium pay and statutory penalties” and fees. On February 15, a hearing was held to show cause for dismissal of any unserved defendants. Thomas filed requesting defendant GEP Cenex, LLC be dismissed “without prejudice.” The court granted the request without waiving court fees or other costs. A jury trial has been set for March 2023. ABC vs CBS Daytime vs NBC Daytime
Despite my love and passion for ABC, I'd have to go with CBS for this one reason: Only network with more than one soap still on the air. However, considering that at the time of their cancellations, All My Children and One Life to Live were 41 and 43, respectively, and GH was already 48, ABC ultimately had the best success with soaps based on overall length of its three shows. CBS previously held the mantle, again, during the time of As The World Turns and Guiding Light being on the lineup.

ARTICLE: REPORT: ‘The Young and the Restless’ Issues Casting Call for the Contract Role of Summer Newman
CBS’ “The Young and the Restless” is reportedly in the midst of recasting the role of Summer Newman, last played by Hunter King (“Life in Pieces,” “Hollywood Heights”) on the daytime drama series. According to a report by Michael Maloney, the soap has issued a casting call for the character who is described as “a dynamic, attractive woman in her Late 20’s–savvy, fun-loving, and refined, from a powerful and rich family.” This is a contract role with producing studio Sony Pictures Television and has the potential for a three-year deal. Since exiting the role of Summer, King reportedly has gone back to school. In an October 2021 interview with Soap Opera Digest, King told the magazine, “I’m taking an accelerated math class that’s only six weeks long, but next quarter, I’ll be taking a lot more classes. As of right now, my major will be psychology. And hopefully, I’ll be working that in with acting, but I’m in the pursuit of learning as much as I can and constantly growing as a person.” She noted, “Depression is something I’ve struggled with for years, so I’m passionate about finding ways to not only help myself but others in that way. That would be extremely rewarding for me. I also went to Europe for a while and I’m also auditioning but I feel like I’m at a weird crossroads in my life of, ‘What do I want to do next?’ I’m just taking it day by day of exploring what options are out there for me. I have a lot of things brewing, so it’s about finding out which one is the most interesting to me.” Despite the potential recasting of Summer, it doesn’t appear as though the show has plans to recast her beau, Kyle Abbott, last played by actor Michael Mealor. According to Maloney, there is currently no word yet on whether Kyle will be returning with Summer either played by Mealor or someone new. Born in 2006 (on-screen), Summer is the daughter of Nicholas Newman (Joshua Morrow) and Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford). In spite of the methods used by rival Sally Spectra (Courtney Hope) to get her a lucrative fashion job in Milan, Italy, Summer moved across the world upon realizing she couldn’t pass up her “dream job.” Even still, she missed Kyle who was growing closer to the son he didn’t know he had until Tara Locke (Elizabeth Leiner) reappeared in his life. On the show, it was explained that Kyle and Tara had an affair some years earlier which produced the child who Tara named Harrison. Previously, Tara had passed Harrison off as the son of Ashland Locke (now played by Robert Newman). When it was revealed that Tara had been working in cahoots with Sally to keep Summer at bay, and following Tara’s arrest for embezzlement, Kyle abruptly ran off to Italy to be with Summer. The two have since declared their love for each other and have built a life for themselves, and Harrison, in Europe as husband and wife, appearing only on the rarest of occasions, including Ashland’s October 2021 Tuscan wedding to Summer’s aunt, Victoria Newman (Amelia Heinle). King most recently appeared as Summer in a special episode of the soap which centered on the life of the character’s father, the aforementioned Nicholas Newman (Morrow). The Christmas-themed episode aired on December 24, 2021, and saw King appearing as Summer via an 0n-screen call with her dad. Since January, King has been filming the upcoming thriller “Give Me Your Eyes” (working title), playing Jael Jones. Set for release later this year, the movie is about a woman (King) who volunteers for a video chat app that connects sighted individuals with visually impaired users. Her good service becomes a nightmare when Alejandra (Elyfer Torres), a mysterious, young blind woman, wakes her with a chilling late-night call: “There’s somebody in my house, I need your help.” In an isolated location where the police are not an option, Jael must remotely guide Alejandra as she flees a pair of hooded assassins … while unraveling the secrets of Alejandra’s dark past and increasingly violent nature. King previously starred in the CBS sitcom “Life in Pieces” and the Nick at Nite teen soap “Hollywood Heights,” created by “The Young and the Restless” head writer and executive producer Josh Griffith. ARTICLE: Victoria Rowell Returns to CBS After 15-Year Absence, Books a Recurring Role on Drama ‘Good Sam’
Soap alum Victoria Rowell (“The Young and the Restless”) has signed on for a recurring role on the CBS drama series “Good Sam,” which stars Sophia Bush (“One Tree Hill”) as Dr. Sam Griffith, a gifted heart surgeon who excels in her new leadership role as chief of surgery after her renowned boss/father, Dr. Rob “Griff” Griffith (played by Jason Isaacs), falls into a coma. According to Deadline, Rowell is set to play Tina Kingsley, a high-powered, sophisticated, chairwoman of the hospital board with the kind of power that does not assert itself. Alienated from her son Malcolm (Edwin Hodge), Tina possesses a strong will to take what’s in her sights, even when it means navigating complicated relationships from her past. Her son also happens to be romantically involved with Sam which, with the presence of Tina, can only cause more drama in all of their lives. In 2015, Rowell sued CBS and Sony Pictures Television (producer of “The Young and the Restless”) over allegations of retaliation, claiming she was “impoverished and blackballed because she had chosen to speak out against the discrimination and injustice that she had endured and witnessed happen to other African Americans” during her time working on the daytime drama series before opting to leave in 2007. Her character on the series, Drucilla Winters, was killed off and hasn’t been seen or heard from ever since. In April 2019, Rowell appeared as herself in a special tribute episode aired in the soap’s timeslot that was dedicated to the life of the late Kristoff St. John who passed months earlier. She appeared alongside former co-stars Christel Khalil, Bryton James and Shemar Moore on the set of the soap and on a special edition of “The Talk.” Watch a clip of Rowell talking about her friend and former on-screen love interest below. Outside of “The Young and the Restless,” Rowell has gone on to create, produce and star in the original series “The Rich and the Ruthless.” All four seasons of the series are currently available to stream on BET+. During her run on “The Young and the Restless,” Rowell also starred opposite Dick Van Dyke in the primetime series “Diagnosis Murder” which ran from 1993-2001 on CBS. She played Dr. Amanda Bentley in the medical drama which found Dr. Mark Sloan (Van Dyke) working with his homicide detective son, Steve (played by real-life son Barry Van Dyke), in solving mysteries and crimes. “Good Sam” airs Wednesdays at 10:00 p.m. ET/PT on CBS. RIP: In Memoriam Thread
There is no rule that something can't be posted more than once. However, if Toups or I determine that it would be best for a topic (in this case) to be merged we will do so. In the case of an individual post, there is no harm in someone else posting something similar. That person might not have seen the earlier post because there's no expectation that you have to read every post before you comment on something. Additionally, a person can have a perspective on something that differs from the poster who may have posted the same thing earlier. No harm. No foul.

ARTICLE: ‘Queens’ Concludes 13-Episode First Season with Anemic Ratings
The problem with the show when excluding any production or writing issues (namely Eve leaving even if for valid reasons), is time slot and distribution. Unlike cable which can rerun a series ad nauseam , including repeating the same episode minutes after its conclusion, broadcast networks only get to air a show once with the hope you tuned in. When they eventually get to showing a repeat it's several weeks later and by that point you are either hooked or you aren't. As for time slot, ABC has notoriously slotted most of its dramas for 10:00 p.m. which doesn't given them much room to find an audience since they have no compatible lead-in. It's either Bachelor/Bachelorette/Dancing with the Stars on Mondays or a load of crap sitcoms on Tuesdays and Wednesdays. Only Thursday has any dramas airing before 10:00 p.m. That is pathetic. With NBC and CBS thriving with their Wolf Entertainment blocks (FBI Tuesday, Chicago Wednesday, Law & Order Thursday), you'd think ABC would get their head in the game at some point and think about airing drama earlier and dumping the mostly low-rated comedy blocks. CBS did for their Monday comedies and now has NCIS and NCIS:Hawai'i from 9-10. Not the greatest success but much more successful than ABC does on any other night, at least in viewers. The success of All American can solely be placed on viewers finding it on Netflix after its first season concluded on The CW. Anyone who watches that show and doesn't follow TV like we do more often than not thinks it is a Netflix original. The few times its ratings have grown is simply because of a lack of patience for the full season to drop on Netflix and some of its viewers finally woke up to the truth. Had it not dropped on Netflix I highly doubt it would still be on the air today much less getting a spinoff that's set to debut on Monday on The CW.
