Considering Abandoning Threads
I'm looking for feedback from posters on the idea of abandoning threads as a requirement for discussions. Meaning, instead of being boxed into a specific thread to discuss any particular thing about each soap opera, including episodes of the soaps and spoilers, even going so far as creating a forum for each current soap opera where fans can discuss anything they want about the show. This is about growing the community and encouraging more discussions, which have been stifled by boxing conversations into the bubble of a single thread, where topics are forced to fit. This is not about expanding discussions about individual episodes. This is about giving people the freedom to say what they want without being limited to a single thread. Let me know your thoughts.

ARTICLE: ‘The Young And The Restless’ Alum Mckenna Grace Lands Lead Role In ‘Scooby-Doo’ Live-Action TV Series At Netflix
“The Young and the Restless” alum McKenna Grace has landed one of the lead roles in the live-action “Scooby-Doo” TV series set up at Netflix with an eight-episode order. Grace will portray Daphne Blake, the iconic redhead from the Mystery Inc. gang, who investigates ghost activity. The series will follow the crew from the moment they first met, Variety reports. “During their final summer at camp, old friends Shaggy and Daphne (Grace) get embroiled in a haunting mystery surrounding a lonely, lost Great Dane puppy that may have been a witness to a supernatural murder,” reads a logline for the series. “Together with the pragmatic and scientific townie, Velma, and the strange, but ever so handsome new kid, Freddy, they set out to solve the case that is pulling each of them into a creepy nightmare that threatens to expose all of their secrets.” “Oh my jeepers,” commented Grace in an Instagram post highlighting her casting. “I can’t believe life is real. I could cry all over again just looking at this announcement. So thankful, SO excited.” Though Grace’s casting marks the first time she’ll take on the role of Daphne Blake in a live-action setting, it is actually her third time portraying the character overall, having previously voiced the character in the 2020 animated film “Scoob!” and its axed sequel, “Scoob! Holiday Haunt,” which was shelved by Warner Bros. Discovery in a costing cutting move. Soap fans will remember Grace for her portrayal as Faith Newman, the daughter of Nicholas Newman (Joshua Morrow) and Sharon Newman (Sharon Case). She appeared on the soap opera off and on from 2013-2015, often splitting time in the role with Alyvia Alyn Lind, who played Faith from 2011-2013, and then 2014-2021. Reylynn Caster currently portrays the character. Since exiting the long-running drama series, Grace has gone on to make a name for herself in Hollywood, appearing in episodes of “The Handmaid’s Tale,” “Fuller House,” “The Haunting of Hill House,” “Designated Survivor” and “Young Sheldon,” among others. She’s also starred in several films, including “Gifted,” “I, Tonya,” “Ghostbusters: Afterlife” and its sequel “Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire.” More recently, she’s starred in the films “Regretting You” and “Five Nights at Freddy’s 2.” In 20021, Grace received an Emmy nomination for Outstanding Guest Actress in a Drama Series for her role as Esther Keyes on “The Handmaid’s Tale.” Grace can next be seen in “Scream 7,” bowing Friday, February 27, and featuring Neve Campbell and Courteney Cox reprising their roles as Sidney Prescott and Gale Weathers, respectively. She’ll also star in “The Hunger Games: Sunrise on the Reaping,” scheduled for release on Friday, November 20. Y&R: Two former cast members return!
I hate how much Facebook has become such a cesspool with AI "news." Even the SON page has been called "fake" news because people can no longer trust anything posted there (Facebook, not the SON page), particularly the made-up stuff about soap stars (deaths, comings and goings, spoilers, etc.)

- ARTICLE: Shemar Moore & Vivica A. Fox Returning To ‘The Young And The Restless’ For Multi-Episode Story Arc
Shemar Moore and Vivica A. Fox are returning to “The Young and the Restless” to reprise their roles as Malcolm Winters and Dr. Stephanie Simmons, respectively, for a multi-episode story arc set to air in April, CBS announced on Tuesday. The actors begin taping their first scenes today, Tuesday, February 17. According to the network, Malcolm and Stephanie, who had a romantic relationship on the show in 1995, are making a surprising return to Genoa City that will have shocking and lasting implications for its residents. This marks the fourth return for Moore since concluding his original 1994-2005 tenure as Malcolm Winters. He previously made special appearances in 2014, 2019, and more recently, 2023, which was in honor of the show’s 50th anniversary celebration, and saw the character take part in the hanging of a portrait of his late brother, Neil Winters (the late Kristoff St. John), which was unveiled as a tribute. Shemar Moore, Vivica A. Fox Winning eight NAACP Image Awards and a Daytime Emmy Award for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Drama Series for his portrayal on the series, Moore has since starred in other CBS TV shows, including “Criminal Minds” and “S.W.A.T,” playing Derek Morgan and Daniel “Hondo” Harrelson, respectively. He can next be seen in the new spin-off series, “S.W.A.T. Exiles,” from Sony Pictures Television, which continues the story of his “S.W.A.T.” character, a role he portrayed for eight seasons (2017-2025), and hails from the iconic S.W.A.T. IP that has spawned multiple series and films. Sony produced and is distributing the 10-episode series globally, though a release date has not been formally announced. Production recently wrapped in Los Angeles. Appearing in Genoa City from 1994-1995, Fox’s role on the soap opera came a few years after starring in the groundbreaking NBC daytime drama series “Generations,” where she worked opposite the late Kristoff St. John, who played Adam Marshall before he joined “The Young and the Restless” in 1991. Like St. John, Fox appeared on “Generations” from 1989-1991 as Maya Reubens, garnering critical acclaim for her portrayal. This marks Fox’s first time returning to “The Young and the Restless” since exiting in 1995. She’s since made a name for herself starring in numerous films and television projects, including “Independence Day,” “Batman & Robin,” “Soul Food,” “Kill Bill Vol. 1,” “1-800-Missing” and “Empire,” among others. In 2006, she won an NAACP Image Award for Outstanding Actress in a Drama Series for her portrayal as FBI Agent Nicole Scott in “1-800-Missing.” Alongside Sterling K. Brown (“This is Us”), Mykelti Williamson, Janelle Monáe and Erika Alexander (“Living Single”), among others, Fox next stars in the upcoming Amazon MGM Studios feature film “Is God Is,” set for release this May. She currently has her own fashion collection with HSN – The Vivica A. Fox Collection. Currently in its 53rd season, “The Young and the Restless” is produced by Bell Dramatic Serial Company in association with Sony Pictures Television. Josh Griffith is the executive producer and head writer. Sally McDonald is co-executive producer. Note: The post Shemar Moore & Vivica A. Need To KnowEvery daytime broadcast program showed year-to-year gains among Total Viewers. “General Hospital” averaged more than two million viewers for the fifth time in six weeks, marking its longest streak since at least March 2024. “NBC News Daily” and “TODAY 3rd Hour” marked new season highs among Total Viewers and posted the largest year-over-year gains across daytime broadcast. Excluding 2023 (figures were not available at press time), most daytime broadcast shows attracted more viewers during the week of February 2-6, 2026, than during the comparable week in 2025, 2024, and 2022, and in some cases, 2021. Among the scripted dramas, "The Young and the Restless" (3.369 million) saw the smallest week-to-week decline among Total Viewers (-47,000), and attracted its second-largest audience of the season, behind only the previous week (3.369 million vs. 3.416 million). Compared to the same week last year, the long-running soap opera was up +219,000. The series was flat week to week among Women 25-54 (0.41 rating). "Beyond the Gates" (1.738 million) attracted its second-largest audience of the season, behind only the previous week (1.738 million vs. 1.859 million), and its third-largest audience ever. The soap opera, which will celebrate its first anniversary later this month, was up +6,000 viewers from the year-ago average performance of two half-hour repeat episodes of "The Price is Right" (1.738 million vs. 1.732 million). Demographically, the drama series tied for last place among Women 18-49 (0.13 rating) and ranked last among Women 25-54 (0.21 rating), tying its season and series low in the latter demo. "The Bold and the Beautiful" (2.945 million) also held up well among Total Viewers compared to one week earlier, down just 48,000, and attracted its second-largest audience of the season, behind only the previous week (2.945 million vs. 2.993 million). Compared to the same week last year, the half-hour soap opera was up +271,000 viewers. In Women 18-49 (0.24 rating), the series was No. 1 among soaps, flat with its week-ago and year-ago performances, and +0.02 ahead of "The Young and the Restless." For the fifth time in six weeks, “General Hospital” (2.185 million) averaged more than two million viewers, marking the show’s longest streak above that threshold since at least March 2024. The long-running soap opera attracted its second-largest audience of the season, behind only the previous week (2.185 million vs. 2.286 million). Compared to the same week last year, the series was up +265,000 viewers (2.185 million vs. 1.920 million). Among Women 18-49 (0.18 rating), the series was flat week to week. “NBC News Daily” (1.579 million) marked a new season high among Total Viewers and saw a week-to-week gain of +25,000. The news program was up +28% compared to the same week last year (+349,000), while attracting its largest overall audience since the week of January 6-10, 2025. The program also marked season highs in Women 18-49 (0.17 rating) and Women 25-54 (0.25 rating), up +0.03 and +0.01 week-to-week and year-over-year, respectively. Outside of “NBC News Daily,” “TODAY 3rd Hour” (2.376 million) was the only other daytime broadcast program to see week-to-week gains, up +20,000, and, compared to the same week last year, marked the largest gain across daytime broadcast among Total Viewers, up +459,000. Also performing well was “TODAY with Jenna & Sheinelle” (1.603 million), which, after four weeks, tied the season high performance of its predecessor, “TODAY with Jenna & Friends,” among Women 18-49 (0.26 rating). Wrap-UpWhat follows is a breakdown of how the daytime broadcast shows performed during the week of February 2-6, 2026, among Women 18-49 rating, Women 25-54 rating, Households and Total Viewers, including week-to-week and year-over-year comparisons (where available). Note*: Starting with the 2025-2026 television season, Nielsen ratings are based on the Live+Same Day Big Data + Panel model, with figures under the 2025 column based on the former Live+Same Day Panel-only model (2024-2025 season). This Week vs. 2025 comparisons for “TODAY with Jenna & Sheinelle” and “GMA3” are based on the prior performances of their predecessors, “TODAY with Jenna & Friends” and “GMA3: What You Need to Know,” respectively. The episode posted on soapsspoilers was correct, though the description is slightly off. Not sure how TV Listings sites get them and end up posting the wrong info in the process. I have spoken to some of the shows, and they are not happy about TV Listings services getting them, particularly as none of them, except maybe TV Guide, has been sent anything by them personally. It's odd.- BTG: February 2026 Spoilers
- ARTICLE: Cecelia Specht Joins ‘Beyond The Gates’ As Chief Of Staff At Garland Memorial Hospital – VIDEO
While the casting news was first announced late last month, we’re now getting our first look at actress Cecelia Specht, who begins a 20-episode stint as Dr. Lia Whitmore on “Beyond the Gates.” Described as the brilliant, battle-tested Chief of Staff at Garland Memorial Hospital, whose life takes a sharp turn, shattering her confidence and forcing her to question everything she has ever stood for, fans can look forward to Lia drawing in the Dupree family and others into her web of deceit, starting on Friday, February 13. In a newly released clip ahead of her debut, Lia can be seen confronting Dr. Carlton Fitzgerald (Robert Christopher Riley), demanding he take action after she sarcastically notes how matchmaking seems to have overtaken medical services as the hospital’s primary use by its staff, particularly as she sees Dr. Ted Richardson (Keith D. Robinson) and Nurse Shanice Johnson (Ernestine Johnson Morrison) acting all cute at the Nurses station. “You are all adults, and nobody is anybody’s supervisor, so it’s none of my business, until it affects patient care,” Dr. Whitmore says. “And then I have a problem, and so do you!” Carlton can only look on with annoyance after Dr. Whitmore walks off. In celebration of Women’s History Month, P!NK will guest host “The Kelly Clarkson Show” for a special week of episodes, beginning Monday, March 2. The news comes one week after Kelly Clarkson announced that her Emmy Award-winning talk show would be concluding with its current seventh season. “The only thing that bums me out about P!NK hosting a week of ‘The Kelly Clarkson Show’ is that I’m not going to be able to be there to watch her,” Clarkson said in a statement. “I have been a fan for so long and have always been inspired by her music and her person. I love her!” “I’ve played stadiums and danced on the side of buildings, but stepping in to guest host for my girl Kelly Clarkson is a brand new feat!,” said P!NK. “Let’s celebrate women, joy, resilience and whatever else comes our way!” A global superstar known for her fearless artistry, powerful voice and unapologetic authenticity – qualities that align with the talk show’s music-driven, heartfelt and playful spirit – episodes featuring P!NK as guest host will feature conversations that celebrate women’s achievements, resilience and impact across music, culture and community. The week will also highlight the show’s dedication to celebrating women who inspire change, break barriers and uplift one another. Surprise performances and candid conversations with trailblazers in entertainment – alongside everyday people making a difference in their communities – will honor women’s achievements, resilience and lasting impact across music, culture and society. During her last appearance on the show, her “Songs & Stories” episode became an instant fan favorite, featuring intimate performances and duets of some of her biggest hits, including “Who Knew” and “What About Us,” while also sharing the stories behind her music. In addition to P!NK, “Songs & Stories” episodes on “The Kelly Clarkson Show” have featured an impressive lineup of artists, including Alanis Morissette, Babyface, Miranda Lambert and others, each bringing candid conversations and unforgettable musical moments that blend iconic hits, personal storytelling and powerful performances at the heart of the series. An NBC primetime spin-off of the long-running hourlong “Songs & Stories” segments featured the Jonas Brothers, Gloria Estefan, Teddy Swims and Lizzo. They proved highly successful, cementing themselves as standout summer 2025 programming, driven by the exceptional work of Clarkson, her band and the show’s Daytime Emmy-winning producing and production team. Production on season seven will continue as planned, with Clarkson hosting. In addition, a few special guest hosts will be announced. Season seven episodes will air through Fall 2026. Glad you like it! I figured people would likely prefer it this way, since there's really no need for the "normal" layout (that's the name for the setting), since it just shows the avatar, poster name, and number of posts to date. It was wasteful, IMO. All that info (and more) can be seen by just hovering your mouse over the avatar in the "compact" layout (current layout as of this reply).- What's going on with the board?
Ads have always been on the right sidebar. Not sure what you mean by white space, though.- What's going on with the board?
There's nothing wrong with the board. I made a settings change where posts are now shown in compact view instead of their traditional format. This reduces unnecessary space waste. Other than post count, the basic info is there about who posts what. Particularly on desktop, posts have more room to breathe.- ARTICLE: ‘Sherri’ Canceled After Four Seasons In Syndication, Debmar-Mercury To “Explore Alternatives” For Platforming Talk Show
The daytime talk show “Sherri,” hosted by Sherri Shepherd, has been canceled. The news came just hours after it was announced that “The Kelly Clarkson Show” would also be ending its run after seven seasons, following host Kelly Clarkson‘s decision to step away from the program. Though “Sherri” will end after four seasons in national syndication, Debmar-Mercury, which produced and distributed the show, says it plans to find a new place for the talk show, with Ira Bernstein and Mort Marcus saying, “This decision is driven by the evolving daytime television landscape and does not reflect on the strength of the show, its production — which has found strong creative momentum this season — or the incredibly talented Sherri Shepherd.” They added, “We believe in this show and in Sherri and intend to explore alternatives for it on other platforms.” Launched in the fall of 2022, “Sherri” replaced “The Wendy Williams Show” on most of the former talk show’s affiliate stations, led by the FOX Television Stations Group. In March 2025, Debmar-Mercury announced it had renewed “Sherri” for a fourth season, clearing more than 95% of U.S. television households, with the FOX Television Stations, Nexstar, Hearst, Sinclair, Gray, Tegna and Sunbeam among the broadcast groups bringing back the nationally syndicated daytime talk show to their fall lineups for the 2025-26 television season. At the time of its Season 4 renewal, Debmar-Mercury praised the talk show in a press release for its ranking second in Nielsen’s metered markets among all syndicated talkers in February 2025, representing a +33% rise from the show’s performance in November 2024 in the key Women 25-54 sales demographic. On a national level, “Sherri” ranked third overall, rising +17% vs. November and achieving a season high during the week of February 17-21, 2025. The talk show, taped live from New York City’s Chelsea Studios in front of a studio audience, is a strong performer on social media, particularly on YouTube, where it has garnered more than 760,000 subscribers and routinely generates thousands of views for show clips.
