He's been gone months ago. They just have to leave his name in the credits because of his contract.

So who wrote the show?

That's never been answered. They just said they used Ghostwriters to finish out JER's outlines, which supposedly end tomorrow.

According to the Early Edition for Wednesday, Reilly is still listed in the credits. It doesn't sound like Milstein is listed at all.

Toups: You've been given a last-minute reprieve (for today at least).

Hmm.....sometimes the Canadian credits aren't the same as NBC's. I guess we'll have to find out tomorrow who NBC lists. I was told episode #10,374 would be Beth Milstein's first credited episode.

LOL Thanks, Rick!! We'll always have the SSK story for JER's second tenure. :D

So technically it was still JER's ideas, right? That's good. But the show hasn't been good since October/November 2004 anyways.

I think right now, since it's so late in the game, it's just contractual and that's why JER's name is still in the credits. I'm going to so for at least the past week, we've been watching Beth's material. Didn't Brian Datillo say that the themed episode (last Thursday?) with Carrie/Austin, SAmi/Lucas, Shawn/Mimi was written by Milstein? Kola Boof also said that the episode was written by Milstein.

Yeah, I think Beth has been writing more than one episode last week.

And if Boof has been ghostwriting for 4 months as her agent/publicists claim, then I don't think we can trust the actual credits. JER has been gone for months.

Boof had to do "scripts" just to get a screen credit, today's being her first.

If it's true that [s.W.S.N.B.N.] is now writing for "All My Children", then I look forward to some real fire coming back to that show.

If [!@#$%^&*] wrote this eppy and she's going to AMC, I might have to start watching.

After today I feel strongly EJ is Benji! They are mentioning Britta a lot! So who would his father be? Was it Stephano, Patch, or Bo? Need some back history.

If she was doing breakdowns, why did she need a script to get a credit? Why not just credit her as a breakdown writer?

Because JER was on contract as Head Writer but went AWOL, and to keep that a secret and honor JER's contract, Boof, an industry outsider, was brought in to HW "as JER".

TVGUIDE broke the story but you'd have to ask Stephen Wyman. He told TVGUIDE that Boof started writing for the show at the start of May (though I heard from others it was more like April after negotiations broke down).

To keep it a big "secret" that JER walked out, they had to bring in a total outsider and have that person "uncredited".

No matter what anybody tells you, that is what happened.

Unfortunately for Boof, she used to knock boots with Bin Laden, and nobody cared what a good writer she was after that came out. I think her being black on top of it didn't help with middle America. LOL

If this WAS indeed JER's last show, it sure didn't feel like one. Character interaction between Bo and Patch. Wow. Novel concept, Days, you ought to think about doing this more. :P

As far as Mimi calling Belle out... kettle, pot. Pot, kettle. Shake hands and come out fighting...

A new era begins Wednesday (and the big, new era next month, which I can hardly wait for to start)... I will say the interim spoilers on Spoiler Island sound great.

This so did not feel like a JER show but it really hasn't of late. I feel as though Beth has had a hand in these shows over the last week, especially last Thursday's and today's. We had so many different character interactions that I liked like Sami/Bo, Bo/Steve, Sami/Steve, and then some great scenes with Belle/Mimi and Shawn/Philip. I just feel alot of that was Beth just like I feel alot of what we have been seeing over the last 5-8 days has been Beth. If [!@#$%^&*] did write this, she did a pretty good job. There was lotso history mentions and just a very good feel to the show. It actually was well put together and was really the first non-SLG episode that has been well put together in weeks IMO. I hope she pops up on another show.

Carrie/Austin had some nice scenes. CC and Peck are doing awesome with this material.

EJ/Sami was ok. Glad she is taking action now. I loved the interactions she had with Steve and Bo and the ending with Bo interrogating Sami was great. You can tell that wasn't JER  .

Martha was great today and I am really enjoying Fath the last 3 days. As I said, she plays a bitch much better. I will root for Belle because I hate Mimi but Belle needed to hear all that and Mimi was right. Now I am waiting for Belle's day to hammer Mimi because what Mimi did was much worse.

Good scenes with Philip and Shawn. Brandt has been really good of late and I am glad he, Kate, and Bonnie are so suspicious of the in vitro switch. Whoever that black glove is has to be someone who can easily move in and out because he/she has been in alot of public places and nobody seems to pay attention to them. It has to be someone people know because if it was Stefano, Bart, or someone in a mask I would think people would take notice  .

Bo/Steve was great. Loved the flashback and all the history. I just love the dynamic between them.

Very good show today. If this was JER's last, it was pretty good even though his presence wasn't felt at all IMO.

I am right there with you Toups and Rick-I will miss him and I guess I will hold on to the memory of his 1st run and the SSK. It is sad because the show was really getting good from late 2005-this past spring and then it got so boring until June when it got good after JER was canned. It is truly the end of a era and congrats to him on having the longest tenure at Days. I am looking forward to bigger and better things for Days and hope JER really excels at Passions. :)

I liked how history was mentioned several times in regards to current developments. Bo & Steve rehashed Stockholm (and Greta). Carrie brought up cheating on Austin with Mike as well as her current situation of cheating on Lucas with Austin ("What's wrong with me?!"). Philip brought up Vivian's theft of Kate's egg which resulted in Philip. I also liked the character interactions (Steve/Bo, Sami/Bo). I liked how Bo/Steve are again "Bros", how Austin/Carrie (clearly the desired endcouple) are now sharing stolen moments and glances while being kept apart (not necessarily by the schemes of others) but by Carrie's sense of duty, propriety, and responsibiliy. I like the parallel of how Philip & Shawn are attempting to make the best of a bad situation while Belle & Mimi are in another room squaring off against each other (with Mimi declaring war on Belle). And I liked how characters have suddenly grown brains (Bo cleverly and accurately deduced Kate as the guilty party in the evidence theft, the most likely suspect all along; while everyone is accurately deducing that the egg switch wasn't an accident; and Sami decided to actually *do* something about the blackmailer --- even going to her Uncle Bo).

This episode was logical and involving. Definitely *not* JER.

I don't know if you've been watching, Matt, but the only one that is really new or hasn't been mentioned in the last few weeks of those is the Bo/Steve/Stockholm thing. They've been mentioning Carrie/Mike and Vivian/Eggs thing a bit.

Goodbye, JER. I love you. Or loved is more appropriate. You have talent, as we all have seen, but you wasted it. There were more highs than lows this run, IMO, but the lows were way, way, WAY too low. YA FIRED!!!!

Peter and Stephen are just standing there, having a chat, and have so much chemistry. Two great actors at work.
