I thought she was to be 21 or 22, which would require more maturity on her part. But now you're saying she's in her teens? Wow, did not guess that. Since she's in the Max/Chelsea early '20s crowd, I didn't guess that. My god, is she in high school?!!!
According to the writeups about her initially, Stephanie is 18. And Kayla referred to her as a teenager in today's show. She out of high school, I'm sure, but I think 19 at the oldest. (Shayna Rose the actress is 22, I believe).

I'd just love it if Sami was the one to break up with Austin.

  • Member

Apparently, AP said at Greenville that Sami doesn't get dumped at the altar. However, he also posted in his blog that the wedding "really" happens. I don't know if he was being cheeky or not, but I'm not getting my hopes up about Sami being the one to end it. That WOULD be too good to be true.

I think the writers want to get Carrie/Lucas and Austin/Sami both married, send them off on honeymoon to Europe (hence the discussion about it) and THEN the proverbial [!@#$%^&*] will hit the fan.

When you put it that way, I believe you're onto something, GBB. Stephanie probably is just an immature lovesick girl. But see I was confused about her age. I thought she was to be 21 or 22, which would require more maturity on her part. But now you're saying she's in her teens? Wow, did not guess that. Since she's in the Max/Chelsea early '20s crowd, I didn't guess that. My god, is she in high school?!!! :o

Chelsea & Abby are both 18. Max is 20, and the original casting of Stephanie put her at 18.

I can't remember the exact date, but Abby and Chelsea were both aged from 16 to 18 sometime last year. So both girls should be 19 soon if they aren't already. DAYS hardly ever celebrates B-days

Stephanie I believe, was born in 1989 or 1990. They only aged her a couple of years, so her SORASING isn't as bad as Chelsea, who should be like eleven.

Shayna Rose has a CBS soap look about her. She looks like an ATWT or GL actress. But I'm glad she's on DAYS. She has a refreshing look about her. She's like Martha. They're very pretty, but not so pretty that it's unrealistic.

For instance, E.J.'s been in the U.S. for what, a few months? And already he thinks he's in a 'comfort zone' with the Fab Four to earn the right to just take without asking? First of all, yes, it's wrong to take anything without asking, but some friendships have reached a level where it's 'understood' that you can 'share the wealth' with everybody, so to speak. I don't think this was one of those cases. Again, it takes years to reach that kind of 'comfort' zone. That's why 'Eej' clearly acted childish by snatching what I bet was one DELICIOUS pastry. And if Austin's like me, he'd buy four for Lucas, Carrie, Sami and himself -- people whom he'd EXPECT to give them to -- but he'd have an extra one for himself. I can't remember how many pastries the writers said Austin ordered, but if the number was only four, E.J. would be TOAST, if I were Austin. If it was five then 'Eej' would still be in hot water because, dammit, that's my extra pastry, you thief! I'd say that E.J. was ONLY entitled to a pastry if Austin purchased six, and only then if Austin didn't intend to buy two extras for himself. But the point is moot because E.J. shouldn't have been at the apartment that late, SHOULD HE?! Plus, Austin did say he bought them for breakfast, so ONLY the Fab Four should have eaten them.

This, of course, brings us to one conclusion: E.J. is a bastard!!

Am I the only one that realizes it was likely E.J. who suggested that Austin pick up those pastries...and give himself an alibi for the time Sami and Lucas couldn't find him. The plan wasn't revealed, but when Austin came in with a bag of danish...that was obviously it. For all we know, it might even have been E.J.'s money that paid for the danish. As for the time E.J. has spent with Austin, Sami, Carrie, and Lucas...in most cases it has been at either Austin's or Sami's insistence that he join them...even when he's offered to bow out.

I loved the Patch and Kayla re-reunion yesterday. I've been waiting for him to fall back in love with her...even if he doesn't remember their past together.

Ugh@!! My gosh, I've been trying to describe this for so long and you've described it PERFECTLY! She's just not an NBC face, which pretty much, especially on "Passions" means flawless. I wouldn't call her flawed but she has an unusually put -together face, as someone in this thread mentioned. Gosh, she is the HARDEST actress I have EVER Had to describe. I think she's pretty, even beautiful, but not in the conventional, NBC way. And no wonder, she has a CBS face!

Loretta, I appreciate your condor but I'm not sure I agree that the danish plan was EJ's idea. Were they any real clues or just supposed subtext? I was shocked to read your theory! What a shocking reveal if that were true.

E.J. offered Austin and Carrie a plan. The object was to make it appear the two had not been up on the roof together where E.J. found them. The plan wasn't revealed on air, but Austin returned with the danish...making it appear he finished cleaning up on the roof and went to get danish while Carrie was getting fresh air on the roof and another location in the building. You could see see Sami's and Lucas's suspicions subside once Austin presented the danish as evidence he hadn't been on the roof the whole time Carrie was missing from the apartment. If Austin hadn't cleaned up on the roof with his wallet in his pocket (which is possible if he hadn't planned to leave the building that evening) then E.J. certainly would have given him some cash for the danish so he could establish his alibi. I don't think Austin, having been caught on the roof with his ex, would have taken time to go pick up danish if it weren't for an alibi.

I agree that Austin picked up the danishes as an alibi to hide the sordid truth about his romp with Carrie. But who's to say he didn't have his wallet in his pocket? Personally, I never go anywhere without my wallet and cell phone. No matter how close to home I am. Also, he is a man. And men know how to lie. If it were me, I'd INSTANTLY think of getting danishes for an alibi. Austin's dumb -- that's something we all can agree on -- but I can't see him as THAT dumb. Again, I'd need a little more to buy the 'EJ did it' theory.

I agree Bree. About Rose. It is her look that is giving me a hard time loving her.

Well, I finally watched this episode.

Dear Christ. Steve and Kayla are so god damn cute/romantic/lovable/sweet/hot/sexy I can't take it!

I am warming up to Rose.

Mimi was very likable on Monday's! But she is a lying hypocrytical !@#$%^&*]!

Martha Madison rocked, per usual.

Yeah. Still don't like E.J.

Leave it to Kate to be the only person to realize someone switched the eggs. She's the only person on this show with brains!

This just bears repeating in big letters ;)

After reading this thread, I will never touch a danish or doughnut, without being expressly invited to do so! :P I do think that Loretta was reading between the lines correctly, and that picking up the danish was EJ's idea of an alibi for Austin.

I got overloaded the "two wuv" trumps marriage vows stuff last week, but someone pointed out that having Carrie and especially Austin with dirt on their hands for once makes for a nice twist. As for Sami dumping Austin at the altar, that just might be worth a 13 year wait. :D

I know that Lumi has a lot of fans here, but I believe that the new writers will let Sami strike off away from the Roberts/Reed brothers. I just don't see Bryan as being in the same acting league as Alison Sweeney, and he has had many years to get there. James Scott isn't there yet either, but he deserves some time and some consistent writing before being judged too harshly. Besides, EJ is a man who has never put Carrie 2000 leagues ahead of Sami, and that, liar and manipulator that Sami is, she still deserves. Maybe the new scripts will have Lucas eating enough humble pie to get me back on the Lumi team, but I doubt it.

I don't like Mimi, but right about now, I am disliking Belle even more. I can't decide which I hate more - the invitro story, Mimi lying about Claire, or Belle thinking that this new baby means that breaking up with the husband who she believes to be Claire's father is perfectly okay. Decisions, decisions!

Oh, yeah, I know some soap fans like to see everyday things happening to their characters. But I really hate that. A LOT. I thought the cafe/American vs. British debate was really stupid. I like drama. And I like people talking about the drama and what's going on in their lives, but not in a draggy, rehashy way. I don't want to see them talking about nothing either. So, if DAYS is headed in that direction, I'm not gonna be happy.

Okay, you have to marry me :)

We are going to have to disagree on that.

It like what "Passions" used to be then. EVERY DAY, we used to have Theresa and Gwen running down every sin each committed and that really got redundant. Sure Theresa/Gwen catfights are good, but when you just talk about the drama in your lives, it seems a little too unrealistic.

I don't like seeing soap characters JUST get in messy situations and use 'soapy' language like, "You manipulated Angela into sleeping with Thorne and now YOU have to deal with the fact that he's fallen in love with her. Haha, your plan to make him sleep with her and realize she's a tramp and not marriage material really backfired, didn't it, !@#$%^&*]!"

All that dialogue about manipulations/affairs/plots/schemes gets cliche and worn. It's nice to see the gang -- from time to time and not every day of course -- just relax and have lighthearted, natural conversation and banter. It grounds the characters to have natural conversations and moments like that.
