August 4, 200619 yr Member I know it was speculated that she was out but according to the PVB, which is a very reliable AMC site, the rumors appear to be false and she's still with the show and giving interviews on the fall previews. Here's the link: http://www.readybb.com/pinevalleybulletin/...pic.php?t=11380
August 4, 200619 yr Member I still trust the sources at SON that said she was out. After all, SON was the first site to correctly report that Rebecca Budig was leaving, even when the actress's reps were denying it.
August 4, 200619 yr Member Kathy is bang on. Sorry guys. Even I was wondering if it could be true despite what I knew but if Megan is doing the fall previews she's not leaving. Julie would be doing them. I still trust the sources at SON that said she was out. After all, SON was the first site to correctly report that Rebecca Budig was leaving, even when the actress's reps were denying it. Of course some day she'll leave (hopefully before AMC leaves the airwaves) but it won't be any time soon. Maybe next April?

But they asked me not to do "gossip leaks" anymore on SON, so I won't say anything.

If you're right I will happily accept everyone's "looks like you don't know jack". I'm a fan first and foremost and I'd love nothing more to be dead wrong on this.

August 5, 200619 yr Member I can understand the desire to believe, but her giving the fall previews says alot. If she was going anytime soon Julie or one of the staff writers would be doing the talking.
August 5, 200619 yr Member Well here's hoping to the Fall! *holds us glass* ETA: I think I meant to say for the Fall (the season), but hoping to the Fall of McTavish is good too.

McTrash always starts out on high note and then crashes and burns with spectacular results. The problem I still see is the suits are running the show. As long as non-soap fans are in charge of the genre at least at ABC, the less hope I have for improvements actually happening. I hate being so pessimistic but over the last ten years I have really noticed a difference in the style of soaps. Gradually social issues have faded out and more shock value- Jerry Springer style antics have come in. I hate it.
August 5, 200619 yr Member I thought McTavish did perfect (ok...maybe not perfect, but you know) work up until the baby switch ended and it all went to hell. When Bianca got Miranda back, the show began to die slowly. Honestly, the only highlight after the Miranda Miracle was Erica and Jackson's wedding.
August 5, 200619 yr Member I think her hatchet job started from the gate! Bianca's rape a week after MMT's aired return was the beginning of the end. There was no need for that. If I were Eden, I would've walked. Raping a lesbian SOOOOOO soon after her groundbreaking romance (which Rayfield and Cascio wrote) due to a history-making kiss was absolutely unnecessary. If there NEEDED (and I use that term ever so loosely) to be a rape, the appropriate victim would've been Kendall, since she and Michael had that on again off again romance. It would've made more sense for him to get caught up in his anger, stress, emotions with a woman he was in a relationship with -- rather than just have him rape Bianca who he really didn't have any connection to, other than with Lena -- who also would've made more sense if the rape story had to be told. Bianca seemed a little too suspiciously "random." McTavish chose to rape Bianca for the shock value -- not because of any storyline continuity or character motivation at all. That for me was the beginning of the end. Hearing the news in May 2003 of McTavish's return was all I needed to know that ABC was trying to kill the show.
August 5, 200619 yr Author Member lol...AMC is starting to become the new Days with all this news about headwriter changes. One minute MMT is out and the next she's staying and then she's out again. Yet still nothing is offiially confirmed.
