Does Steve know that John Black is not Roman Brady. I remember Kayla referring to Marlena and John being on vacation. Steve died in 1990. Salem didn't find out John wasn't Roman until a year or two later. So is Steve still under the impression he is Roman? Was this ever addressed? Has Steve interacted with the real Roman yet?

Also, I know that Bo and Steve used to be best friends when they were in the marines or the navy, wherever they were together. Does Bo still call Steve "Patch"? I missed the episode where they had conversations together, so I don't know.

Steve only knew John as Roman Brady. (Well, he knew him as the Pawn but that's another story). I guess Steve would still be under the impression that he's Roman if he could remember anything. As it is, he's relying on Kayla to fill him in so I guess we can assume she gave him the highlights. I don't think we've seen him interact with the "real" Roman on the show.

Bo and Steve were in the Merchant Marine together. Early in SN's run on the show ('85-'86) Bo called him "Patch" mostly, but in times of great stress he would often call him Steve and you could often see the affection under the anger for both of them. By the time Bo and Hope left the show in '87 he and Steve had pretty much reconciled and were good friends again. There was much hugging and back-slapping when Steve went to see them off at the dock.
