AMC: The McTavish situation

What the heck is going on?

Scenario 1: There was a divide in the writer's room between Megan/Victor Miller & basically everyone else. Victor Miller leaves. Megan is given the option to leave right away or stay until her next contract cycle ends at the end of August. She decides to stay. Jeff Beldner and Amanda L. Beall are promoted to co-headwriters, to begin September 5.

This is my ideal scenario and it made sense (Miller is gone, end of August is the next time ABC can legally get rid of McTavish whether she agrees or not). Some are claiming however the headwriters are no longer operating on 13 week cycles anymore and that McT is thus legally safe until next year.

Scenario 2: ABC is grooming this prime-time guy to be the next AMC headwriter and it's not really known when this switch may happen. Some claims that McTavish may be given as much as six months to turn the show around.

If Frons has been grooming the prime-time guy for a while now, where did the Beall/Beldner thing come from? Will they be interim headwriters?

And then to top it off my source is maintaining up, down, left and right that Megan is going NOWHERE, not now, not at the end of August, and that the network is satisfied with her and the younger direction the show is taking (Colby, Jamal, Sean, Annie, Confusion etc).

That is depressing to consider but I have no reason not to trust this person and while I don't want to say what her connection is, she is not in a position where she would have been asked to cover anything up.

I just cannot imagine how this show will survive 6 more months (if not more) of Megan.

Well once again I'm going to say no offense to you, I know you believe what you were told, but I also find it hard to believe that about 4 totally different sources had almost exactly the same information(were all told the same thing), and that they could have been given such wrong information.

I can't believe they're that satisfied with her, especially since the ratings aren't that great. Six months to turn the show around, yeah if they want to kill the show for good IMO <_<
