July 18, 200619 yr Author Member You love them both? A) That's impossible Oh, really? Thanks, Hitler, but I do.
July 18, 200619 yr Member Oh, really? Thanks, Hitler, but I do. There comes a time in life when you have to make a stand and choose a side. Choose love. Choose truth. Choose Theresa.
July 18, 200619 yr Author Member I did for the first three years of the show and sporadically since then, but it depends on the situation. Both have been wrong, both have been right.
July 18, 200619 yr Member I can't really agree. Gwen's always been the villain, and there's not a damn thing that will convince me otherwise. I'm just shocked and astonished when people claim to actually like Gwen, because it's just so against everything we're presented with onscreen. (I do like Liza Huber, though)
July 18, 200619 yr Author Member I can list instances where Gwen has been right and Theresa has been wrong, but then you'll just tell me everything that was running through Theresa's head at the moment because JER beat it into our heads by having Theresa justify her actions by having LK say the same dialogue 8 times a day for months on end.
July 18, 200619 yr Member Whatever. I think JER has made it quite clear that we're supposed to root for the housekeeper's daughter, not the rich !@#$%^&*]. I know where my loyalty lies.
July 18, 200619 yr Member If I were Gwen, I would have killed Theresa by now. Only... that won't change the fact that her husband still is love with another woman and would rather be with said woman than with his own wife. So, if Theresa died, Ethan would be all mopey and still have more dreams of her. Hell, I'm shocked he hasn't gone this long without calling out Theresa's name during sex, but that might happen soon.
July 18, 200619 yr Author Member Well, that brings me to my other point. I don't get why Theresa fans automatically jump down Gwen's throat and not Ethan's. More blame lies with Ethan than Gwen.
July 18, 200619 yr Member Well, that brings me to my other point. I don't get why Theresa fans automatically jump down Gwen's throat and not Ethan's. More blame lies with Ethan than Gwen. Gwen's psychotic and evil. Look at all the times she's assaulted Theresa and attempted to murder her. Sure, Ethan can be a stupid jerk, but he's still sane, and he's not physically abusive. And don't forget that Gwen committed the ultimate act of evil by destroying Ethan's life and framing Theresa. Gwen is completely to blame because of her pride. If she had any class, she would have stepped aside when Ethan left her for Theresa. But she couldn't stand the fact that she lost Ethan to the housekeeper's daughter, so she kept going after him. It was a blow to her ego, and Gwen can't have her blue blood status and reputation stained by losing her man to a member of the lower class. Ultimately, Gwen's hubris has proven to be her undoing, as we shall see in the coming months as she causes the destruction of her marriage. Gwen is a great example of the connection between being wealthy and being evil. BTW, I have to go (in case it seems like I'm running away from this debate). Hopefully we'll continue this tomorrow.

For me, it's because I feel that Ethan's suffering along with Theresa. He just suffers in silence. As much as he has denied himself happiness, Gwen has denied him happiness as well. One important thing is that he feels that Gwen's the only innocent in this situation, and he'd be doing some grave injustice to her because all she is is the victim. We know it's baloney, but he doesn't. When he finds out, he'll be devastated because he not only denied himself, but she denied him happiness. Everything he's done in the subsequent five years that they've been married, was for nothing. That's going to be a blow.
July 18, 200619 yr Member I will just say I want neither woman with Ethan . Both woman have made mistakes and screwed up I just happen to like Theresa more so I will leave it at that. I love both actresses though. I just love Lindsey a little more .

(I do like Liza Huber, though) How has Gwen ALWAYS been the villain? When the show began, Gwen was minding her own business, when THERESA decided to take a hacksaw to her life. Gwen didn't do anything 'villainous' until AFTER Theresa took a buzzsaw to her life.

Well, right off the bat, she was portrayed as being a spoiled rich !@#$%^&*], who's pretty condescending and insulting to those of a lower class. After all, she did initially say that she didn't want Ethan because he had no high status, then said that she didn't like losing to the "mousy housekeeper's daughter".
July 18, 200619 yr Member Well, right off the bat, she was portrayed as being a spoiled rich bitch, who's pretty condescending and insulting to those of a lower class. Gwen was not a spoiled rich bitch; Ethan was far more spoiled and condescending in the beginning of this show. Remember, Sci-Fi just re-ran the initial 3 months of the show, and ETHAN was the snob, being constantly reminded and prodded by Gwen to get out in the Harmony Community. Not that I didn't remember this, but it was good to see those episodes to confirm the situation. Not that I didn't remember this, but it was good to see those episodes to confirm the situation Oh, Ethan was most certainly a snob, don't get me wrong. That's how he made the assumption that Theresa was stalking him, when it was just that they had the initial misfortune of having a calamity occur. But, Gwen was as equally condescending in her own right with the whole "Get to know the little people, schpeel." It's one of those subtle classist digs at the lower class, like they should be grateful to know who Ethan Crane is. THIS was AFTER Theresa took a hacksaw to her life. Doesn't negate the fact that she sure as hell didn't want Ethan as a Bennett, initially, and only went after him so that Theresa couldn't have him.
