I don't think they should recast.

Nicholas Coster?

But, I would like for Clarke to return.

Gordon Thompson? Too young for Mickey, but seeing him in that Dynasty Reunion - all I could think was - HE'S AGED WELL! ;);)

I disagree with those who feel Mickey is needed at all. Between Clarke's retirement and the opportunity Ingle's return to GH opens up, I'd sooner see him dead, as a character, and add other Hortons back to the canvas. It's times like these that soaps used to take the opportunity to rotate the canvas and re-introduce characters we haven't seen in a long time.

If a Tom/Alice replacement is needed, why not use Doug & Julie? After all, they probably got more direct ties to the canvas at the moment (via Hope) than Mickey & Maggie do.

Nicholas Pryor, who played Victor Collins on PORT CHARLES, would also be a good Mickey. Also Peter Hansen, who was Lee Baldwin on GH and PC, would also be good, but may be too old now.

That's been my thought all along and it's also been my belief that Maggie has plenty of years in her before she needs to be considered a matriarch.
