3 tries to copy your whole observation! i found that scene yesterday between him and eva far more interesting than whatever it is that’s supposed to be going on with him, nicole, and carlton.

when they mentioned his sons, i thought they were considering expanding his role. of course, that scene was recorded months ago.

In all the years I've followed GV on social media, I've noticed that he sometimes makes cryptic comments that viewers have tried to interpret. Sometimes it turns out that he's simply making a generic comment about faith and finding direction in life. I was actually thinking of posting his IG here today, then thought, no because I have no idea what it means. Then meanwhile Johnathon at Parade wrote an article about it -- but maybe that's just speculation, too?

I saw the comment from ig account "robrileynyc" (Robert Christopher Riley) but I didn't see it from anyone else at BTG (But I don't follow all the cast/staff/crew, and I don't know everyone's social media handles, so of course I could have missed a lot. And some comments might have been private or since deleted, or they were comments on ig stories that have since faded out.)

Robert Christopher Riley misses GV, but maybe that means that they simply haven't taped at the same time recently.

While unconfirmed, there might be some truth to rumors of Colin Egglesfield replacing Greg Vaughan as Kial on Beyond the Gates. I'm not reporting it at this time because I have not officially confirmed it through my immediate sources.

It would suck to lose Greg, but if he can't commit CE would be a solid recast. On contract.

Colin Egglesfield played the brother of Jane Rizzoli on the show "Rizzoli and Isles". Jane Rizzoli was played by Angie Harmon, and Angie Harmon is Greg Vaughan's exgirlfriend.
Random six-degrees-of-separation (but only one) between CE and GV.

I don't see the point in recasting Kial. The character is totally bland. They could just say he left town and bring on a different hot doctor and start fresh.

I was wondering if it was being talked about over here when I woke up last night. But I had no idea there was a rumor that GV might be replaced by CE.

I like DD and GV so a recast would be jarring. Moreso given they just introduced one of Kial's sons.

And it's not like they can use CR much since he's on that other show.

If they did that, I would hope that he specialized in something that might yield story possibilities. An orthopedic surgeon on a soap is a fast track to nowhere.

I expected much better usage of GV when I heard he was hired. His place has been that of a human sex toy for a thirsty divorcee who seems to have no viable plan for her life going forward. GV and "Kial" should've been and could've been used better. Unless they have a better path paved for the character, then I agree, a recast is pointless folly.
