Such a weird announcement rollout.

I have a feeling that next year, they'll shoot the nominees' names out of some confetti cannon, like at one of those horrid gender reveal parties I've heard too much about.

With all the problems of the Daytime Emmys -- and they are many -- I will say it's nice that we're not here today to blast them for ignoring Beyond the Gates. I was worried GATES would get only a few

This was a bad year to get rid of the younger acting category.

  • Not a fan of his either, but I'm glad to see credit where credit's due. MVJ is an inspiration to every person of color who dreams of creating, writing and running their own show. Really pulling for

I'm very surprised by Karla Mosely. I always thought Daphne Duplaix was a much stronger actress. Did Daphne submit in supporting?

Jane Elliot does not submit herself for the Daytime Emmys, so unless ABC did, I doubt she was in-the-running.

Well yeah, but I was hoping that with Monica's death, and Tracy finding out that Gio was her great-grandson, she would've made an exception

While I take issue with the category's name, since it seemed a little ageist in that just because you're older than the age criteria, you'd never get a crack at that nomination, particularly for a newcomer, I do agree with you. Emerging Talent doesn't seem like an appropriate name either, but at least it's broad in that many people can be nominated, regardless of their age. This is where Beyond the Gates can and should thrive when the full nominations are announced tomorrow.

If Gio is nominated, it would likely be in the Emerging Talent category, since this is his final chance to be nominated under the rules, which limit eligibility to the first two years of one's contract. He joined the show in May 2024. Nominations are for calendar year 2025.

Is it so hard for the Academy to admit that they made a mistake and just reinstate the Younger Actor/Actress categories? 😂

Highly doubtful. She's maintained her stance for years. One or two storylines is not going to change her perspective.

Seriously, what is this obsession that they have with Thorsten Kaye?

How is it an "obsession"? He's a damn good actor, unlike Stafford who won for literally no reason last year, he earned all his awards

How is Beyond the Gates not nominated for Costume Design and how is Erika Slezak not on the list for Guest Actor.

  • Member

Colby Nixon not getting a nom is crazy work. Crazy! She’s such a star ugh.

Amazing, astounding, knock me off my feet to see three black men nominated in supporting. Equally amazing to see two black women in lead. This is making my perpetual “rooting for everybody black” stance real hard.

Y&R getting nominated for set design TWICE when their sets are held up by spit, hope and a prayer is insane.

Mosely being nominated is a farce as well. Sorry, the woman is one note

She's literally not "one note" she's blossomed being on BTG, compared to how she was on B&B

I swear some of y'all gonna b*tch no matter what

  • Member

Aside from the Colby Nixon snub (and she really blossomed this year more than last), the right actors from BTG got nominated IMO.

  • Member

Oof. How did I miss Roger Howarth getting nominated?

The Office Smile GIF

I’m actually really impressed overall with Best Supporting Actress. Amanda Setton ROCKED that Gio reveal on GH. Camryn’s story sucked but her acting wasn’t the reason.
