I enjoyed Shanice still thinking about Derek - they were great friends.

And yet she prefers someone that doesn't value her (Ted) just like her bestie Ashley prefers Grayson.. who is less than heroic.

It's odd that Derek's death has sort of kick-started Jacob's PSTD... but I have a feeling that with women in charge.. they'll cheapen it by stating that he's only feeling this way because he's too much of a man that refuses to share his feelings while Ashley is doing everything right because she's showing her emotions.. even though she's suffering from only child syndrome and makes everything about herself.

Vanessa always bringing everything back to sex isn't empowering, it's a cry for therapy. Why she always brings the topic back to sex makes me wonder if she has anything of substance to share since she doesn't seem to talk about anything else other than sex or trying to domesticate Joey. Talk about a 50s throwback.

It's nice to see Andre away from his prison warden Dani, who also would benefit from regular visits to a shrink.

Why would you want to tell your ex about having sex dreams about them? It's unnecessary.

Vanessa's outfit matches Joey's apartment.

I definitely like hearing Shanice, Jacob, and Naomi speak their feelings on Derek's death. And I'm all for a PTSD and survivor's guilt storyline for Jacob. I like gritty stuff like that.

That set is awful. An apartment supposedly at that level with no foyer/entrance, a tiny table and chairs in the corner. As for the urn up against the wall....

Everything Vanessa says is total cringe. She's pathetic and disgusting.

I love hearing about how young Derek was... the actor and I were born the same year and I have a 22-year-old.

I'm glad Derek's death is being mentioned and pondered over. Unlike other soaps that pile up the deaths and nobody bothers after a couple of days.

It was morning of a new day but it seemed like the Country Club had nightime lighting.

Those Andre/Chelsea scenes were fine but a whole episode on them at OG's recapping various stories?

I'm going to keep putting it out there-we need to see the characters working/at work-maybe we might see Shanice nursing, Vanessa dealing with her real estate business or Nicole with a patient.

Everyone on this show is so understanding, conciliatory, always up-to-date with therapy speak...

Call me old-fashioned but you need at least 1 conflict in an episode, a couple of characters disagreeing on something.

Joey's apartment is one of my favourite setups. Very sleek and modern. Happy we continue to see it. 😃

I agree. Joey's apartment is just bad on so many levels, punctuated by that high urn. And has the fireplace in the middle of the room already disappeared? 😂

I also agree with you about the Andre and Chelsea scenes. They were good together, but it all went on too long for too many scenes. They don't even have those kinds of conversations with their own partners, and that's especially true of Chelsea.

Yeah, the therapy speak is all over the place, and it does get exhausting. When Joey is given that kind of dialogue, it's all gone too far.

And spare me therapist Nicole convincing herself she needs to tell her divorced husband she's having sex dreams about him.

Conflict? It's vital. In yesterday's show, some conflict could have been enough to move the episode from the meh category.

From the highlights I saw, it looks like it going to be good.

I'm looking forward to it.

I thought this week's episode of Soapy with Tamara Tunie was enjoyable! I found Greg and Rebecca to be a lot less annoying than usual. They let Tamara talk and tell her story. I could have listened to her for hours. Worth checking out.

Please don't let Leslie crash the ceremony for Jacob. She's become intolerable.

Thoughts:

  • If I were Eva, I would be revoking Dana's key privileges from the apartment.

  • Not order a lemonade and being charged rent. 🤣 That was hilarious. And I am happy to see that Darlene and Izaiah are reconnecting.

  • Not Hayley snipping at Bill's limp hand touching her. Sweetie pie, I'm going to need you to control yourself. Be professional.

  • A podcast? Katherine, that is the last thing you need to be involved with. That would be a NO!

  • I really hope Naomi relies on Dani and allows herself to open up a bit about what she has been going through. It is time.

  • Jacob, a little testy today, are we?

  • I feel for Darlene. I really do. I feel like she is an old-school wife, who stands by her man (a.k.a. husband) and abides by the standards they place down. But I can sense that she just wants her sons together, in one place, as much as she can.

  • Not Dana calling out Eva's choice of face for the day. Not everyone needs to look like an overdone model or drag queen, ma'am.

  • So, because the maitre d' coming over is why you acted as if your husband were attacking you or some gross person was touching you? Bitch, please.

  • Darlene is really judgmental of Eva, and I would really like to know why. It is giving a bit of entitlement, and I am glad that Izaiah is standing his ground on Eva's inclusion.

  • Bradley as Katherine's role model? Sweetheart, I love Bradley, but you need to stop. You just do not like rules. At all. Get over it.

  • Naomi, who are you fooling? That burner phone was not in the case of emergencies. Texting him you love and miss him is not an emergency. Do not B.S. your mother.

  • Marcel, really? I do not find that funny at all. You have zero bandwith awareness. Absolutely zero.

  • That little photo moment just got awkward as Hell. Darlene could have been less obvious in her disdain of Eva joining.

  • I do enjoy seeing Eva and Naomi connecting and sharing Darlene stories.

  • Not Hayley declining the invite on Bill's behalf. That has got to be horrible for him, not even knowing.

  • The gunshot PTSD is going to be heavy for Jacob. He has got to find a way to come to terms with the fact that he was not responsible for Derek's death. Derek made the choice himself to follow Grayson to the warehouse and to jump in front of the bullet.

  • Not Hayley insinuating Bill is not immediate family to Jacob. And then suggesting he was dead to the world. Who is she to make that call? Ridiculous.

  • Not daddy play with handcuffs and spankings. That is hilarious. Dana needs to stop.

  • Bradley and Dani having a gigglefest over Dani's mugshot. How brilliant. This is a friendship that needs to be developed more. Immediately.

  • This dumb bitch is really going to poison her husband, in public, right in the middle of the country club's dining room. She SUCKS at being a con artist. DUMB as rocks.

  • That hug between Katherine and Jacob felt like... more... I hope they do not go there. We do not need another cheater in the Dupree circle.

Notes:

  • Much better breakdown. Again, Montgomery's standing as the continuity producer just shines through with how everything is broken down and laid out for the day's scriptwriter to fully flesh out.

  • The lighting continues to be top-tier. The light coming into Eva's apartment and Dani's kitchen is just a chef's kiss. I love it. They have really upped the production value.
