This is definitely good news. Someone just doesn't give up the EP title no reason. With Steve Kent gone, and now Josh no longer having the EP title, Sally is now the top dog at the show (in terms of being at the studio, obviously she has studio/network execs to report to). I predict Josh will be gone before the year ends.

I think the exec producer credit was pretty much a title only thing. I doubt he was anywhere near the studio. It just gave him a little more influence/power. Have you seen the number of exec, supervising etc producer titles on some primetime shows? Endless.

A bit like singers insisting on songwriting credits to make more cash.

It means more $$$, so Josh might be taking a pay cut by losing that title.

But now Sally might not have to run things by him and can hopefully overrule some of his story 'ideas'.

The show has improved in some small ways since having Sally McDonald as co-EP (more sets, storylines seem a little more structured and isn’t just a mish mash of random stuff happening). I have certainly taken notice of the improvements although it’s definitely not enough. The Matt Clark storyline is by far the worst and at times makes the show unwatchable. Hopefully he is gone completely eventually but I will take this is a positive sign of better things to come.

I think with the genre in embers again as opposed to burned completely out, now would be a reallly great time to rebuild and recruit talent to be mentored. Stop rehiring people that are beyond done.

Steve Kent is gone as the Executive in Charge of nothing? I didn’t know, thank GOD! Long overdue, especially with Y&R being such a sorry unwatchable mess for the past year.

October 28 was her first co-executive producer credit.

Well, I feel those of us in the Writers and Director Threads have been calling this for a while now. I just hope that JFP doesn't try to slide on in.

I was not aware that Kent was gone. So good. Since that was really the only reason I felt JG has had the job this long. So...I, like @Khan , do not think he will last the year.
