Yeah, I will take OTT soap ham Van over a lot of these folks. He's always a good time as Lucas, he's genuinely presenting a gay male onscreen, and he often does good work. When he doesn't I'm still having fun lol

I really liked Carnes and thought Van wasn't great at first, but I have come around. Van makes Lucas seem much more alive and fun than Carnes did although Carnes would have probably been better today lol. Again, Van isn't anywhere near my list of people that GH should get rid of.

Speaking of people to get rid of, Kai might get taken down by Willow after today. That would put Trina in the Maxie range of dead boyfriends though.

He also talks about Cassius being humanized, which makes me think FV wants to see if they can keep him. Pass.

If he does decide to keep him - and let's be real, he's gonna keep him - then I hope he does something about his name. "Cassius" makes me think of Cassius Clay.

I think Carnes was good, but Van gives a uniquely authentic performance as a gay man which just hits different as a viewer. Even when he overhams it's entertaining, and he has excellent rapport with LW, Kirsten and Becky. So for now i'm pretty good with VH.

I named a character "Cassian" once so maybe I shouldn't talk, but I never named a white dude "Cassius" lol. It just sounds goofy on Ryan Paevey in particular.

I've said it before, and I'll say it again: CVE is LOUSY at naming characters. Like, the worst.

I actually enjoyed the hyperventilation today. I actually understand how they’re playing the grief because it truly does come in waves when you lose someone close to you.

Echoing this—I think Hansis has been a huge upgrade all the way through. Lucas seems like a real person and not just another in the stone-faced hunk brigade (apologies to Ryan Carnes).

To anyone who is surprised by Van Hansis' acting style: have you ever heard of a little show called AS THE WORLD TURNS?

Disclaimer: I do not think Van Hansis should be replaced. I like him as Lucas, and thought he had good chemistry with Marco. I don't think he's has screen chemistry with Brad.

Ryan Carnes is a hunk, but I think he's also a good actor with a lot of screen presence, and I loved him as Lucas -- and he did have chemistry with Parry Shen.

I think the writing mishandled Lucas when Carnes was in the role.

As I mentioned in another post, it’s nice to have a Lucas that actually has a pulse. And they’ve done a great job building his connections with both Carly and Ava which I don’t remember being the case when I used to watch.

Van's worst moment still can't match this hilarity for me. One take?!

All it needs is a safe and a scarf for him to pull out and cry into like Walter Curtin on Another World.

Ryan Paevey is not an actor. He is a hard-muscled hot guy on TV. He would be better suited on OnlyFans.

😂 Then can I say that about Chandler Massey? Because he spent his last 3 years at DAYS grinning and smirking through every scene.

3 years is generous.

It's giving the Cowardly Lion a bit when he cries LOL.

I'm not imagining the Erica Kirk parallels with Willow? Willow sure came along way from the basket case she was when I last watched back in the Fall. I like it.
