Has Shen ever had onscreen romantic chemistry with anyone? I don't mean to be cruel, but I've always found the character of Brad to be so poorly written and poorly acted, I've never felt invested in any of his storylines, romantic or otherwise.

I thought he had real chemistry with Ryan Carnes, which made GH and Carlivati abandon the clear plan for Lucas ending up with RC's then-avatar Felix in the early '10s. (Brad was initially supposed to be just the spoiler) But that was over a decade years ago and Brad has become so much more pathetic since then, and still has minimal depth. I lost all patience I once had for Brad long ago.

Damn. RIP Marco 😢

I honestly should’ve known, after all of Lucas’ speeches lately. That’s just GH’s style.

I’m really liking the messiness of this whole situation but I also feel like this didn’t need to happen. Marco was a really likable character with a lot of potential, despite the obvious shift half way through his storyline. Plus, they finally invested in the character of Lucas for the first time in years and to see it end like this is kinda sad.

I wouldn’t mind a Brucas reunion but I would much rather have preferred a full on triangle.

And while I thought Van Hansis and Carlo Rota did a good job today, I have to admit I’ve seen better. On GH and on other soaps.

Btw, shoutout to Finn Carr too. He’s been killing it these past few episodes.

There’s no question that all of the show’s storylines are dictated by budget, actor guarantees, and actor availability. Maxie would never have been in a coma, for example, if KS hadn’t needed time off.

But the “lulls” on GH are less and less frequent, and the show does a pretty good job of laying the groundwork over 4 to 6 months for stories to climax in a satisfying way, as they did this week.

IMO GH has provided two genuine shocks so far this year: Willow paralyzing Drew and Rocco shooting Cullum. That’s not bad.

Some great dramatic scenes today, but I'm still pissed that the show again prioritized short-term drama over long-term romance by killing off Marco. Maybe they thought he'd done too many bad things in helping Sidwell, but I thought they gave him a pretty believable redemption arc over the past couple of months.

Worst case scenario is that they try to pair Lucas with Brad again. Best case is that they bring Adrian Achondo back in a few months as Marco's long-lost twin Mario, who's also gay. Or that they bring on Eric Sheffer Stevens as a Steven Lars Webber recast, only more sarcastic than before and newly bisexual.

Agree with all points.

GH knows how to shake sh*t up when there's a lull. But at the very least, they know how to course correct pacing and make each day matter and these past few days have been intense. I didn't realize I'd feel so sad about Marco dying. I gasped. I'm already annoyed that this will just lead to a Brad and Lucas reunion who are past their expiration date. Marco was a believable gray character who was sacrificed for a short term shocking death. Now his potential and chemistry with Lucas has just been wasted.

Still, GH has my full attention again.
