It's funny how another platform asked the question about Vernon in the form of a poll:

Is Vernon taking singing lessons?

Is Vernon having an affair?

Some people responded by saying BOTH. Lol.

For me, Vernon having an affair would not be a problem if it weren't for the show having already taken that skeevy path twice. Three times in quick succession in addition to the loaded hypocrisy of it would make me side eye such a writing decision.

Unhoused basically is what is used by advocates to try and destigmitize homelessness in order to get more funding and resources.

Joey manipulating Vanessa by acting like he feels too inferior for the country club goes to show how dumb she is. Of course she already demonstrated her idiocy by passing out escort service cards at the country club.

It's fine that the subject of health care is addressed, but it needs to sounds less like a pamphlet. That dialogue was a bit clunky.

I agree. While I think BTG has attempted to touch on a few difficult topics albeit in passing, they unfortunately come across as a PSA/ after school special.

-- If Vernon is written as a cheater, it'll be an enormous mistake. Not only has the cheating man trope been used twice, doing it with Vernon is ridiculous.

-- We already know THE DUPREES are flawed. We don't need cheating to reinforce that.

-- The healthcare discussion did indeed sound like it came from a pamphlet. I don't think we can blame the breakdown for that.

June should not be speaking like a healthcare advocate asking for funding. I'm going to SMH if we get healthcare lectures from Samantha, Martin, June, etc. -- especially since none of them will mention the ACA or Obamacare.

-- If organizations want to say "unhoused" instead of "homeless," that's fine. I can respect that. But the truth is that the vast majority of us don't see "homeless" as a negative.

Saying unhoused is a solution in search of a problem. It's certainly not in the same league as needing a word to replace a slur like the r-word.

A lot of people say 'unhoused' these days. I find the word a bit precious personally but litigating its usage isn't really a BTG-specific issue, it's something to take up IRL.

Just a tad behind, but while I'm annoyed the Duprees were spread all over and eating at the country club, Vernon's toast at Thanksgiving felt like old school soap. Bob Hughes would've given it a stamp of approval.

Shanice is the first person I've seen Ted actually have chemistry with TBH.

Saaame. Sign me up!

This show always tries to portray Vanessa as grieving and then immediately follow it up with her whoring around with Joey. I wish they’d drop the I loved Doug angle because it’s clear she didn’t. She was literally banging the man that had him Killed the night he died. Who is this supposed to be working on?

Eva and Izaiah have smoking chemistry.

I Love Vernon with an edge.

Yes, I would have preferred a big family gathering as well considering the Duprees are all about their family and protecting their own. It would have also been a great way to have many characters interact throughout. However, I am sure their were some other constraints in the background that prevented it from playing out this way. I think the whole episode in general felt like old school soap for a holiday.

I would've thought for the first big holiday, they would've had most of the Duprees in the same room. And not stuffed the dining room with random extras. I get that money-wise, the extras cost less, but geez.
