Did she play a hooker? For some reason I remember an article bringing that up. I really should read more of that unpublished book.

Lola was an ex-hooker. I can't be sure, but Mark Evans may have been an ex-client of hers. She had two friends who actually worked on Nola's wedding dress.

Mary Pat Gleason, who played Jane, (sort of a Jane-of-all trades, including being a nanny and nurse/companion) also wrote for the show during this period.

She directed at DAYS and GH.

Thank you, Errol. It's been so long I really could not remember for sure without a SOD in front of me. :)

I'm not sure if we're counting primetime soaps, but for Knots Landing, John Pleshette wrote a number of episodes, as did Don Murray and James Houghton. Michele Lee, Joan Van Ark, William Devane and Kevin Dobson directed episodes.

For Dallas, Larry Hagman, Patrick Duffy, Linda Gray, Steve Kanaly, and Ken Kercheval directed episodes. (I believe Linda said they weren't going to let her but Larry fought for her)

I think it counts!

I am shocked that no one has mentioned Courtney Simon https://www.imdb.com/name/nm0792404/?ref_=nv_sr_srsg_0_tt_0_nm_8_in_0_q_Courtney%2520Simon

And Douglas Marland (who was often referred to as an "actor's writer") did a bit of acting work, including a stint on The Doctors before becoming a headwriter for daytime soaps such as As The World Turns.

Ellen Weston played Robin Lang Bauer Bowden Fletcher #5 (1963-1964) on GL before her infamous headwriting stint on the show in 2003 under Jon Conboy lmao

Isn't this thread about actors who worked backstage whilst appearing on said show?

If we move to actors who also wrote for soaps at some point it's away longer list.

BTW Ellen Weston appeared as a judge on GL while she was headwriting the show.
