Yeah, the Tracy/Qs scenes today didn't quite work for me either. Which, to my great shock, meant that my favorite scenes today involved the Portia/Jordan confrontation. A year ago, when I got back into the habit of watching GH, both characters bored me to tears. I thought they were symptomatic of how white soap opera writers and producers either weren't interested or weren't capable of writing black characters who had distinctive personalities and compelling flaws. But now, Portia and Jordan are each getting to show their messy and petty sides, and the actresses seem to be having a blast.

The problem is they only fight with Tracy. It’s a united front against her. The Quartermaines used to fight amongst each other, even if they had a common enemy. The fights used to land on several characters, even if it was only about one of them to begin with. Which would spilt the group up so it didn’t feel like they were only fighting with one person. Even if he was mad at Tracy, Edward would usually land on Ned too, and or AJ, or both. Monica might fight with Tracy but she usually took a jab at Alan too. It felt more balanced.

The show seems to have very different takes on Tracy from episode to episode. They are always scared of getting too far away from Tracy as the family pariah or heavy.

The show has made Brook Lynn look awful here, and they weren't even intending to do so.

I like that Portia believes being honest with her husband is an impossible standard 😂😂. She really came to yell at Jordan when she’s been sleeping with Isaiah and going off to his cabin. I love that she’s completely unaware of how ridiculous she is.

I’m so glad Martin called out Laura and her relationship with Sonny after she acted like Martin did the most heinous thing ever. Spiteful Fraud < 25+ years of Murder any day of the week.

Since when did the Quartermaines become so forgiving? I’m honestly conflicted on Ronnie vs Tracy because Tracy truly was vile to Ronnie from Day 1, but Ronnie’s revenge was going to impact ALL of the other Quartermaines and not just Tracy.

Tracy should just start a new family household with ... Dillon, Gio, Lulu and her kids, hell bring in Willow with Michael's kids. Jason and Britt! Good for her and I hope she doesn't back down. (Do Trina and Joss still live in the garage, lol).

Jordan's wtf reaction after Portia's visit was perfect. I was feeling the same.

Was Jason really that attached to Britt before he died? He really puts up with a lot for her and never seems agitated by her at all despite her being awful 95% of the time they’ve been back in each others lives.

I really hope someone shoots Drew again. In the head. And that’s not a knock against CM. But Drew has not one redeeming quality. He doesn’t love his daughter and Willow is more like a possession than anything else.

I don't know if it's intended but it reminds me of how many passes he tended to give Carly. The biggest difference is he never really had feelings for Carly (aside from when they needed a reason to have Jason leave when Steve quit in 2000).

As the saying goes, "With great power comes great responsibility."  Tracy has managed to outlive everyone and become Quartermaine family matriarch.  I'd love to see a storyline where she questions whether she's truly up to the challenge, instead of watching everyone else in the family play another round of Let's Dump on Grandma Tracy (Even Though She's Actually Right).

This is what always annoys me because the show will allow people to call Sonny out, but we're still meant to side with him. I don't even think it's nuanced writing, they just want to have it both ways.

As for Laura, I am trying to remember if she became friendly with Sonny again because she regretted blaming him for Lucky's "death."

The Halloween talk today reminded me that they're still a few days off from the baseball games in Sept.

Did Martin and Laura ever know each other before Martin showed up in town? I can't quite tell if they like each other or tolerate each other haha. She must have some sense of loyalty to him since she's willing to get him off these charges. And they live together, although she just said he has to move out today.

They didn't. Martin and their serial killer brother are retcons.

I could not agree with every single word of this any more.

I was so happy when Tracy got the house, but they wrecked it today with Tracy vs. Everyone.

Portia vs Jordan was good stuff, but yeah, she's clueless and unaware. Writers continually throw her under the bus.

I feel nothing for Laura. She is no moral voice of authority, that's for sure.

Oh my, I'll have to read up on the serial killer brother now! Haha. Thanks as always :)

This makes me so mad. Yes, characters should have complexities, but this lady can't seem to win for nothing. Don't get me started on Curtis. A really good character ruined.
