I do wonder if they’re feeling a bit of heat re: BTG. Martin, Smitty, Chelsea and her robo-doctor are all frontburner there and Martin and Smitty just had a love scene yesterday.

shows were feeling the heat, but then Beyond the Gates started flopping so all the other soaps were like "oh, never mind" that's why the Carter storylines were dropped, Y&R killed off Damian and Nate was sidelined, and Dr. Isaiah is gonna be scapegoated (he's giving obsessed teas, so we will probably find out he shot Drew for Portia, etc) and turned into a psycho, imo. lol

I doubt keeping up with the gay characters in the other US shows has anything to do with it. Most likely is that homosexuality acceptance in Italy, and I guess Greece to a lesser extent, has risen considerably in the past few years. Same sex marriage approval in Italy only crossed 50% in 2019 (now at over 2/3rds).

Far from a flop, but sure. Good luck getting its new audience.

Yep not at all a flop. Simply proves what some people have said for ages about representation...always give a taste of it...and then they snatch it away. Also why people flew to BTG. They might fumble the writing over there, but it's not going to be a case of any of the above at the other soaps which is sadly not surprising due to too many examples to mention.

But...here's B&B's chance to prove me wrong. And...we will see.

OF COURSE B&B's first gay character is a psycho. You can't make this stuff up. lol

I always still remember the very homoerotic friendship of Vinny and Thomas from a few years ago. Of course they made Vinny so obsessed with Thomas that Vinny sacrificed himself to ensure Liam took the blame for his death. What a mess that story was!

They're an item already?

So convenient of them to skip the romancing part.

Indeed.

P.S I think I may be finished with this show. This is beyond offensive to me. The first male gay couple should have been RJ with someone else. It should have been a leading character that has connection to the core of the show.

This is the show's mentally ill stalker. And now also... the show's first gay male couple. When you put two and two together... You get what they are trying to say.

Thanks Bradley for nothing.

He would be a lot older than Hope though, wouldn't he? He was born long before she was. But with SORASing all ages are a bit out of sync I guess.

Yeah Deke feels like a shortened named for "Deacon"

I know this doesn't make it better, but I do feel like they are trying to redeem Remy
