-- They're repurposed shoeboxes. I get saving money, but what's up with that drab and awful paint color in both rooms?

Stories are out everywhere about how decorating dorm rooms is a real thing and a viral sensation, yet Salem U. looks like the rooms are out of The Grapes of Wrath.

-- Aaron is looking good, and the haircut was a great idea. More recent photos on his IG show him with longer hair, but the cut is good.

Does Louis Tomeo ping to anyone else or just to me?

Dorm rooms really do look like that though. At my school the nice dorms were reserved for seniors and looked more like apartments. My freshman dorm was a shoe box that could’ve been mistaken for a jail cell.

Congratulations Professor Johnny!

I'm still not entirely sure about this plot point, especially since I figured that the obvious storyline would be Johnny devoting all of his time to working at Titan, which would put him at odds with EJ, Tony, etc. but I'm curious to see what's going to happen, especially since

Spoiler

he's probably gonna end up teaching Holly and Ari's class

But I'm glad that Johnny told EJ off about everything that happened at the trial. Hopefully, this isn't the complete end of the conflicts for them. Carson Boatman did a pretty good job again too.

On a side note, if I had a professor who looked like Johnny when I was in college, I would've been in big, big trouble 😉😍😂😂

Brady and Chanel's scene was a nice surprise as well. I'm really liking what's been done with his character lately. Having him interact with other characters and writing him more maturely has been the right move from the very beginning. It really does seem like they're positioning him as the one to carry on John's legacy. And even though his actions at Kristen's sentencing may or may not have been John-like, he did bring up a lot of good points about Kristen, and in a way, she does kind of deserve this. I'm interested in seeing what's going to happen once the truth comes out.

I'm also interested in seeing what Gabi and Tony are going to do now that they both know the truth about Philip. I still have my suspicions about Tony though.

But I wasn't too sure about Philip and Xander's scenes today. Playing them like a big joke, until the very end, was not the right way to go. But at least we got a good cliffhanger again.

How on earth is Johnny a professor?😂

Hilarious! But at least the college girls (and gay boys) get to see Dat Ass every day.

"Professor Johnny?!" The things you see on the forum feed, I swear. Johnny doesn't even know how to read.

It's stupid/insane but honestly more plausible than half the sh*t this show tries to sell us. It's an adjunct position teaching a film class, and he directed a bunch of television just in the past year. Him working at Titan-DiMera was almost a bigger leap.

Happy Birthday JJ! 🎉🎉

I'm actually surprised that the new team even remembered JJ's birthday, even if it was just a catalyst to bring Jack and Jennifer back to Salem. They haven't really shown much interest in the character since they came on, which is too bad because I think that there's a lot that they can do with him. He could play an important part of Gabi's storyline. Or even Gwen's. As unnecessary as her return was, I did like that he had no time for her crap. Too bad that Jack did though.

But I did enjoy all the family bonding moments that we got today, especially between Jennifer and Julie. I'm still not really a fan of making Jennifer the bad guy/spoiler for Chad and Cat, because I think her anger is totally justified. And they definitely don't need to do to Jennifer what Ron did to Eve.

Btw, I love that JJ's birthday party had the same kind of balloons that Days uses when they have a BTS celebration. Guess they were able to afford the big pack 😂😂😂

And for the first time in a very long time, I actually found Chad and Cat a little interesting lol Chad possibly opposing Mark's parole could lead to a good storyline happening for the two of them.

Tate and Sophia were total dumbasses though. I don't particularly mind it because I can understand the both of them being dumb but damn they were rough today lol and I'm glad that Brady and Steve are going to continue their investigation.

Month behinder here.  (Whoa, just had a flashback to back in the day when one would have to identify if they were a Day Behinder GL viewer whose local affiliate would air it in the morning. But I digress).  Did they recognize the conditions of JJ's birth? i.e. on Melaswen. Just curious.

No, they didn't.

I wish they would do more with JJ, too, as I think Casey Moss is one of the best (and hottest) actors on the show. On the same token of recurring actors, I am officially back to hating JPL's hokey ass. I refuse to believe there aren't more suitable replacements for Philip out there. And for the record, I don't think Cherie Jimenez has any chemistry with either Kiriakis brother, but she did with JJ and Alex.

Anyway, I thought the Gwen material was strong in today's episode. Played against the Hortons, Jack and JJ especially, where she clearly yearns for a relationship with them, but can't let herself admit it, is very watchable material to me. On the other side, I think Jennifer's grievances have been shown fairly, without ever villainizing her, however, I think it's more than time that Cat get some fight in her. She is far too passive in letting people demean her, deserved or not. I think a Gwen/Cat friendship could benefit in that respect, as they could balance each other out in how they deal with adversity.

Steve joining the birthday "party" was a nice surprise, too. They should have him involved with Gwen on Jack's behalf when him and Jennifer leave again.

Great post, as always 👍

I probably would feel a similar way, if it was in regards to any character other than Gwen. As much as I enjoy her sticking it to Leo, I still don't see a purpose in having her back onscreen, even if she is involved with Cat and the hospital situation somehow.

If they needed to bring a character back, it really should have been Theresa; hopefully with a recast though. There's so much more story for her than there is for Gwen.

Starting to catch up on the last two weeks and I'll have to say that Belle has been so enjoyable lately. It's a shame Sami's not her to slap her up.

It can't be just me thinking that yes, Rachel knows exactly what she did and she's a little sociopath?

That could work.

And it would give us a reason why awful demon Rachel has suddenly been acting like a human 😂
