The fact that some posters support Smitty and some support Martin, shows that both characters are written with layers, which means there is depth to this show, and that's a good thing!

I agree.  Imagine having layered characters again on daytime...   It is so refreshing to finally have a believable soap opera to enjoy again.  After 40-years of over-the-top bafoonery, mustache-twirling super-villians, and campy embarrassments. Real human drama has returned to daytime. I only hope this is a trend that spreads to the other remaining soap operas.  Time will tell.

Wow....BTG brought me to tears today actually, and that has not happened to me with a TV show in a very, very long time.

I had a close friend take her own life about 15 years ago, and it's always haunted me that maybe I could have done something...anything...that would have changed that. So, Anita "getting forgiveness from Barbara after all these years, had me bawling like a baby.

Damn you MVJ! :)

The production, the writing, the acting for today’s show was PERFECT. TT got her Emmy reel today, and Steven Williford got his reel for best directing.

The ending was very moving. It goes back to when soaps actually displayed actual emotion in the characters. Plus the past couple of episodes added a lot of what soaps lack and that is joy.

We're all pretty good about criticizing this scene or that scene, this character or that character, this actor or that actor --- but most days, BTG is head & shoulders above what the other shows are providing in 2025, and today was definitely one of those days.

I really hope she saw it even if they didn’t show us her seeing it.

She did! Just no close up, but Shanice reacted in the background of the scene. The camera was just focused on Naomi's reaction. ;) Rewatch. She saw. :)

I have noticed Jean Passanante and Shelly Altman aren’t participated liked here but I enjoyed their run on Y&R (around 2014). They reunited Nick & Sharon so maybe that’s why I’m slightly biased as a Shick fan, but the overall tone of the show was better. It started to really suck when Chuck Pratt came on board and that’s about when I tuned out. I’m pretty sure Tracey Thomson was involved in both of those writing teams so it’s really hard to know what she had a hand in and what she didn’t..

Yeah, I've missed most of those runs sadly.

Excellent show overall with some notes.

-- The Barbara tribute was a nice touch, and it was a good idea to have Andre as its editor and creator. At least it makes him seem somewhat skilled in the business.

-- I thought Anita's speech was fine -- until the end when she made it about herself, taking the blame for Barbara not being part of the group. Really, Anita? You can't celebrate her without talking about yourself?

-- I also wish Tracy and Sharon knew about the tribute video in advance. Once again, Anita took over.

-- Not crazy about Anita leaving the afterparty to go back to the stage. Didn't buy that at all. I realize they chose to end the episode on that moment, but it would have made more sense to have Anita do that same scene while she was still at the theater.

-- And Barbara left Anita a sign? Really, BTG? I'm so glad Barbara forgives faster than her Articulette sisters.

-- The Entertainment Tonight piece was an awesome add.

-- Clifton Davis continues to be perfect as Vernon. He is seamlessly believable in every scene, and I'd call him the glue of BTG.

-- I'm always down for Nicole going after Leslie, but leaving the party to go to OJ's? No. I do not want to see Nicole bothered like that. To me, that gave a win to Leslie.

-- I loved the Smitty and Martin scenes. The chemistry is there after a slow start in February, and I want them back together. I agree that Smitty is a bit hypocritical in his forgiveness of Martin vs forgiveness of others, and I agree that's also human and realistic.

-- I didn't like Madison acting like a middle schooler at a Taylor Swift concert. Just ridiculous.

-- Not crazy about having Anita tell Chelsea that she and Madison remind her of herself and Vernon. It's far too soon for that, and I think of Anita as having more sense.

-- Dani's outfit was hilarious. She looks like she's ready to sing karaoke to Half Breed by Cher.

-- Tyrell and Samantha talking about their mother deserting them disappointed me because it points to June as their mother, and I was hoping for anything but that.

I agree!!! And those were real people on during that piece, right? I like little touches like that and it echoes what we were discussing under the Hot New Man news thread.
