I had wondered if they would have had time to adjust the props due to the unexpected one week of preemptions in early July.  I see that they did indeed make that adjustment to edit that in, because the tickets say August 1st on them.

Have I missed something?  When Tyrell's crush Jessica appeared last week, she'd been at Stanford for an early program. I wondered if it was for summer school.

At first I wondered if the planning was thrown off by the preemptions for soccer  --  but then remembered that date on the invitations for the Ted/Nicole anniversary party was off by only a day or two.

But then I wondered about the unexpected preemption for the full week of June 30-July 4.  They adjusted the dates on the tickets but that was an easy fix.  However the dialogue for the teens seems off, and that was probably too difficult to adjust ...

They said that Samantha and Tyrell needed to go home after the Articulettes reunion concert because they had school the next day.  No talk of summer school so I think it's still the regular school year.   Perhaps it it still June for the writers?     Maybe Tyrell's crush Jessica just finished the spring semester at Stanford and is now home for the summer?

I know some places in southern USA start the school year in early August.  But Maryland follows the northeastern USA starting the school around Labor Day.
This year, some Maryland counties start the school year at the end of August and some start in early September.

Or I have I simply missed dialogue stating that the teens are currently in summer school?

We noticed  that the trees around Kenny in the park had no leaves.  We noted that there was no mention of Juneteenth which was really surprising.  Maybe the writers decided to be nonspecific with time (except for dates on tickets) ?

Errol did say that the show will acknowledge holidays later this year.  But right now time seems vague except for event tickets.

Well I wasn't expecting a Jacob/Derek sandwich when I sat down to watch, but DAAAAAAAYYYYYYYUUUUUUUUUMMMMMMMMM!!!

Darn it if Andre and Dani don't look good together.

See? And people were just mentioning Jan. Now where's Mona?

Ugh! Hayley, really!!! Though I was happy to see Caroline.

And Ooooooooooo Not Doug vs Ted!!!! And Doug read him as if he was Vanessa!!! Love to see it. And that there is a directional turn coming for Doug.

I thought that the Dani/Andre conversation in regards to Ashley was mature and also a peek into Dani's motives.   Dani had multiple motives when advising Andre not to pursue Ashley.  Partly due to jealousy, and partly because she sees a bit of her much younger self in Ashley (i.e. the young model on the rise falling head over heels for Bill and giving up her modeling career for love.)... she knows that Ashley would do that for Andre if he snapped his fingers.

Which brings me to Jan/Ashley's conversation... conversations we should have seen a few times before today's episode.  We saw both of their POV's and I'm wondering if Jan's admission about a past man is foreshadowing something (ala Joey Armstrong possibly being that past love and Ashley's dad).

I'm curious about Hayley's motivations for the fake pregnancy.. and how she'll use this fall to her advantage (will she pull an Annie Dutton)?

Doug is totally reserving his grave for move in soon with the way he's acting today (which I think stems from his addictive personality).

There was talk about what influence Guza had on the show as co-head writer... and I think Vanessa is totally a Guza character... and I wonder how she'll change/be adjusted once his name stops appearing in the credits.

Ugh, really Andre??? Haaaaaaaaaaaaa not Dani shading Andre's love of 'bland.' She stay shading Ashley and I love to see it.

Hehe. I see Jan is Pro-Derek.

First, Vanessa's co-worker is sniffing around. And now, Doug's spiraling. The walls are closing in on her. And a directional turn for her, too. Who would have thought when Doug/Vanessa's storyline started that I would be so invested in them, but woooow...this is good.

I thought it was!!! Cool!!!

Ever since La Dame Huger premiered in the first episode, I like for little wink, wink meta moments and cute moments like this.

It’s almost 6:45 PM on the East Coast, anyone else having a problem with today’s episode missing on Paramount +?  The episode is not showing up- it stops at episode 104 from yesterday.

I like this Bill/Hayley scene. And nice to have the callback to Bill's hand issues. And Timon's whole vibe is the vibe of a worried father.

Oooooooooo Hey, Carlton, hey!!! Let me rewind that scene from the back!!! lol.

I could see Vanessa becoming more of a villain soon enough. All speculation and what ifs, but if Joey ends up offing Doug, Joey could put Vanessa in the frame, she becomes irate and shoots Joey in retaliation, but not wanting to go down for his murder, attempted or otherwise, she soon learns about the Martin secret and blows it sky high to put the Duprees in the frame, finagling her way to freedom, but at the cost of becoming the new town pariah. However, by this point she's absorbed Joey's business as her own, and all the power that comes with it. I feel like this whole story has been building her up to accepting her nefarious nature.

They might be messing with the player showtimes again. I noticed during my rewatch Sunday that Wednesday episode was missing on my system with no warning it was set to expire (and usually expires AFTER the Monday and Tuesday episodes do, not before) so I had to watch it on my app. They do that with B&B as well from time to time. Y&R rarely. Almost like they want to force people to the webpage or app to view. Otherwise...they might post it later as in tomorrow morning if it's not there already.

Yeah... I don't know about Hayley faking her pregnancy.

Even with Dani and the Duprees still interfering in her and Bill's lives, there doesn't seem to be any reason or motivation for her to do this. I hope we get a good reason for her decision soon because at this moment, it just feels a little like anti-Hayley propaganda.

They should've had her be upset about Bill being the Dupree's fixer again, and eventually have her cheat with Derek or something.

And yeah still... #FreeAndre

I really hope they don't change anything about Vanessa once Guza leaves. I'm really looking forward to her becoming a badass mob queen with Joey by her side especially once Doug bites the bullet.

    • Well, you are the most ill-informed, condescending person on this board so I am glad you enjoy mocking me? Or whatever you are trying to do lol.  You literally can't comprehend the simplest things about the show and don't watch, but are literally shaming me for being a women?

One other side note, because now I've re-read 1993-1994.  I think that I found a ret-con issue. In 1993 after John finds out that Stefano is Kristen's father. It is not like I am claiming to have found nuclear fission, clearly mistakes happen.  But, I found this to be amusing. In 1993, Stefano becomes deadly ill, so Kristen tells John that she needs to be by her father's side, but not to worry about the deadly disease, because she's adopted.  Given, that I've always thought of Kristen as being adopted, until the more recent cannon that she is Stefano's biological child, it is interesting that in 1993, the week before Tony comes to town to announce that he is Kristen's fiancée.  Kristen is saying that she can't give blood to her dying father, because she was adopted.  So, the current reverse in cannon, neglects that detail. It is so funny to read this and then see Kristen and Tony in the crypt this week, 32 years later.  That's more than half the show's history at this point, amazing.
    • It was shuffled off the stove way before that. Think of the early summer stuff with Gio, Emma, and Dalton, which they basically dropped for weeks at a time, and then also put them on the back burner until recently.

    • After the slap it does feel inevitable - being arrested and thrown out right after her big win.
    • Yesterday it was Theo and Jada.  Today it's Chad and Belle.  What a mess.
    • I asked my soap historian GPT to help pull together the best available sources on Daniel Pilon’s run, and here’s what the research confirms: * Pilon played Max Dubujak on *Ryan’s Hope* from 1983–88. * He began appearing as Alan Spaulding on *Guiding Light* in 1988. * An academic source notes that he appeared as **Max and Alan simultaneously in November 1988 * His later-life interviews mention major upheavals, including losing his home in the Northridge earthquake and declaring bankruptcy in 1994.  That’s the factual foundation. Now for the human side of it. I’ll admit Pilon was never my favorite Alan. The Spauldings are supposed to have that patrician, Midwestern money vibe, and suddenly here comes this very European-sounding gentleman sweeping into Springfield like he wandered in from a different soap entirely. It created a strange tonal shift, at least in my memory. Whether he was intended to be temporary is hard to pin down, but honestly, looking at what he was dealing with in his real life, I don’t know that the show ever had a truly stable window to figure it out. He was going through marital strife, while being talked about as the "next James Bond" back in Canada, and juggling work on two soaps at once is a lot. Under those circumstances, the question of whether he was the “right” type for Alan becomes almost secondary to the fact that he was working through multiple emergencies while stepping into one of GL’s biggest roles. So for me, the story of his Alan isn’t just about casting fit. It’s about an actor navigating chaos and the show adapting on the fly. Also, the proverbial soap hill that I would defend its honor, is that Ron Raines in the final week was so amazing, that for me, it erases all prior memories of his performance.
