I think this Martin storyline is replete with missed beats. I thought today's show was a mess, full of stupid people dancing around what was going on.

-- Did Martin give ANY thought to what he'd say in that press conference? He didn't tell his family, he didn't tell his staff. We have not been told/shown that he knows what happened two years ago, so just what would he say at the presser? This just writes him as a stupid person.

-- I don't buy Martin as so stupid he wouldn't talk to his husband and kids about this first. It's a press conference that could upend their lives.

-- Or maybe not, since we have no idea what Martin was going to say. Again, I'm not a fan of building to a climax that never happens.

-- The people "handling Kenny" have been stupid for two years. How much money was he offered/given? Mobster Joey tosses out the line that "You can't get good help these days" apparently referring to Randy not getting rid of Kenny. Really??? That's what this mean, viscious mob guy is going with?

-- Vernon has also been stupid. Bill? Stupid.

-- The writers have worked overtime to keep too many secrets, too many truths away from us. That's why we're all spiraling about this story. It's going to be hard to come up with any resolution that satisfies all this secrecy.

-- Re: the June storyline. If they want me to care about her, they need to show her. Hearing Jacob and Naomi talk about her is not enough.

-- I hope they'll have Jacob and Naomi track down that phone number instead of acting like they have no idea what to do next.

-- And no, June should not still be in the hospital. We were told they'd keep her until they find a safe place for her. Really? That's how we're treating the homeless these days? So ridiculous.

Nice episode today. There is a lot riding on Martin's secret.  Woohoo! We got outside scenes three days in a row. Brandon Claybon's eyes are always so pink and red. Y'all stressing him out!!

That scene from Monday between Vernon and Bill was good, and it made me more curious about Bill. I believe Vernon and the Dupree family played a role in why Bill left Dani.

I do too.

I look forward to it, honestly.

This is my make-or-break storyline. If they drop the ball with this beat, I am out!

I agree. I  hoped for the same with Joey's involvement. Using his escort service would also be timely, considering all the stuff in the news about Diddy.

It would have been cool to see Ted and Bill come together during this story.

I did lol.

If this show makes sex work part of Martin's story, I do not think they'll write Martin as cheating on Smitty with an escort.

I think it'll be something like Joey trying to blackmail Martin with a gay trick and with it all going bad. I don't see them wrecking Martin's character that way.

Well, I always felt that June is secondary (for now) because we care more about Jacob and Naomi and because we care about them helping her, we care about June versus us caring about June. It hasn't been earned for June. At least not yet.

This is the part I've having trouble with. As loathsome as Kenny is, this wasn't self-defense. It was a hit, and murder is murder. These are supposed to be the good guys, right?

I SUPPOSE there will be a twist?

I'm usually pretty good at figuring out mysteries, but this one...I don't know.

If Marcel is an OG cop from back in the day, why is he texting a picture of Kenneth’s dead body to Bill?  So it can be traced? Makes no sense?!?

I also need Naomi and Jacob to get a living room set.  Today, they are sipping drinks and discussing all the drama sitting on the edge of a bed.

We need some other sets as well- why is there a press conference at a restaurant rather than an office or other corporate setting?

Standing ovation.

How has any of this material left the writer's room and greenlit by CBS? At this point, I wouldn't be opposed to the writers enlisting ChatGPT to help with the story beats, structure and giving characters rooting value. I want Black representation on soaps but someone who knows what they're doing needs to step in. I said it and I mean it.

I'd also add the Naomi acts more like a social worker (nothing wrong with that but isn't she a lawyer?) and since Bill/Dani are divorced, and Dani has been so openly hostile to Bill, wouldn't the press find it curious that Bill was at the press conference at a restaurant? Any why Bill and not Ted? It's always Vernon and it's gotten weird now. Also, why would Martin not even tell anyone in his family?

And what if someone needed to eat food that day? Come back later because a politician has rented out the place?

To be honest, I don't care about Martin or his secret.

I gave up on DAYS and if things do not turn around by the fall/winter, I can do the same with this show.

I've been watching old soap episodes from the 1980s on YT lately, and the difference is almost breathtaking. Many, many more sets, SO many more extras and small speaking parts in each episode. Big party scenes with elaborate clothes almost once a month.

The sets today are much better looking, there just isn't as much variety. Yeah, why are Naomi and Jacob always in their bedroom? (Aside from the usual reason

Not telling his family first so they aren't completely blindsided by the shock this will cause, no crisis management team, and not seeking legal advice (thankfully Bill offered), Martin is just a full on mess. Mostly due to Vernon who has forced him to keep this a secret for so long and clearly Martin isn't coping well, but to not secure your family, your career, and yourself before holding this press conference is just dumb. I guess we know why Ty and Samantha seem to have no sense either.

I'm glad you pointed that out about June's stay. Since when are busy and expensive hospitals just holding onto patients as acts of charity?

I am still holding onto hope that there is something more to this secret otheriwse yikes.

I am fine with stories and reveals taking their time, but the way the played this story, it should have been revealed to the audience already or it needed to play out differently. This circling the airport and never landing is tedious.

I would have wanted it out earlier as well, but the advantage that it wasn't out has been the characters being fleshed out so that when it finally does, people at least will care. And trust and believe that I was annoyed with Month 2 at the time for that very reason.

And we know I'm going to disagree about near-misses being built into the stories since soaps do that all the time...usually as fantasy sequences. So good to see a soap get back to actual near-misses on a secret.

I’m curious as to how BTG will celebrate the holidays.  Being a P&G show, Anita should be at the piano singing Christmas songs with her family like the Bauers on GL did and Vernon better give a Thanksgiving/Christmas toast to the audience like Mac Cory did every year on AW.  There better be a glitzy New Years Eve party at the country club too!

If it hadn’t been dragged out like this we wouldn’t have gotten all of the new interesting character interactions that I’m enjoying so much. The new and deeper interactions are one of my favorite parts of the show.

Again I know I’m in the minority but I’m loving this story.

Once again just about every story is being set up to have long term repercussions. As far as the secret goes we already sort of know what happened, just not all the details. Too many times soaps will drag a secret out with no clues, then reveal everything all at once and afterwards all that is left is the lull of characters having filler conversations.

Okay so who is June's sister?  The woman who answered the phone number from June's photo clearly wasn't Hayley.

date: Tuesday, November 18, 2025 | Jamey Giddens, Danielle Paige | Steven Williford Samantha, accept the fact you were in the wrong and do not deserve your digital devices. Do not like it? Go upstairs. Read a book. Do some knitting. Bradley and Martin's "we get it" to Tyrell was hilarious and absolutely a parent's thing to do. Loving a bit of history of both the Duprees (via Eva) and the Hawthrones (via Izaiah). So cute. Poor June. I am sure she did not purposefully mean to mess up; we have all been there working in customer service. Shake it off and keep on keeping on! Not twice a week for Vernon's cobbler order... Sharon must be using that as payment for their meetings. I appreciate that Ted still cares about the Duprees despite the end of his marriage to Nicole. Not Dana using Peaches' crisis as a way of taking Ted's attention away from a co-worker. Girl, do not be so obvious. Bradley is a man after my own heart with a simply divine chocolate milkshake. That is the way to go. Dana really needs to dial it back. Money will not buy her everything she wants and she will realise it soon enough. And I doubt Shanice is scared off by her idle threats, either. "With all due respect, Ms Thomas, this isn't a shopping mall." Oh, Dr Wilkes just owned Dana's arrogant ass. I love it. Wigs and personas? Okay now, Shanice ate with that read. I like that June assured Bradley that she will not replace him or Martin in the twins' lives. And that blood does not make a parent. Words never rang more true. Jessica reading Samantha was amazing. Dana would want to involve Ted. Her obsession is crossing beyond dangerous boundaries. Not Dana catching Vernon leaving Sharon's room at the country club. That is not good. Not good at all! Notes: Ugh. Not another breakdown from writer2. This week was going so well. Thankfully, Paige is an outstanding scriptwriter (one of this soap's best), and her words today are excellent. The food at Orphey Gene's does look bomb, so I do not blame any of the characters for uptalking it. I would eat there daily if I could. And gain hundreds of pounds, too. David Lami Friebe (Izaiah) continues to make me sick watching him, but he is nice to listen to. I still really like having June as the central person hub at Orphey Gene's. That familiar face you see when you walk in and have scenes. Dana wanting a second opinion means we could have an incoming doctor, right...?

    • I am sure "no one cares" and it's not a big deal to some people, but this thread is full of certain posters calling out women's ages, their viability to have children at like 35, and their nail polish, but we celebrate everything Chandler Massey does and applaud any male shirtless scenes.  And then posters walk back being like it's just a joke and weren't serious lol.
    • I'm so glad she's still on the show. Seems like she may have dropped a hint about the real source of conflict between her and Dee, too.
    • I don't know how reliable the information is, but from what I've read, he joined GH in 1977, and Alan (who started airing in September 1977) was one of his creations. That should have been enough time to get the show in better shape by the January 1978 episode we saw, but then again, shifting from a 30 minute to a 60 minute format is a big transition, one that requires a lot of filler scenes like Monica having a long flashback to a scene that must have only played out a few weeks earlier.
    • I agree. She said, "I do," and then decided, "I don't." I wish Nikki Abbott had been a longer duration. I wholly prefer Nikki with Jack than I ever have with Victor, and today's episode proved that. And I never minded Ashley with Victor.
    • That one really bothered me. The chemistry was still very much there and then she married Jack and immediately ran off to find Victor. It was such a slap in the face to anyone that was a fan of the pairing.
