I'm not that impressed with the costuming, still very hit and miss, not much improvement and some of the outfits for Nikki in particular have been awful.

Maybe Mariah's secret is she encountered Ian and killed him?

That might work except for the fact that her mother has done the same thing.

Overall, I would agree. However, it has been interesting while I'm waiting for something to happen to see her experimenting with finding characters' individual styles. I feel she's slowly getting it. But yes, it has been hit and miss.

Like when she tries to give a particular style to one person and think it will work for someone else. Like she's lightened up Nick's style which was...different. Almost like she was listening to JM's own style, but keeping it within Nick's bandwagon. Then she tried a similar style on Billy and it just didn't work.

Damian's clothes have definitely been a specific look -kinda reads 70's pimp to me . I guess it's a trend?? but it seems more suited to Holden. JR is 51  and I guess Damian is supposed to be a little younger but it looks a little odd on him in my book.

But at least they're trying. The men's clothing has been bland/generic for years-either suits or basic casual stuff interchangeable  b/w them.

TPTB are dragging out the Alexander Dumas reveal way to long.  We really aren't any closer to knowing who he is than we were months ago when his name was first mentioned,  I really don't mind a lengthy soap opera plot, in fact I kind of prefer them.  But this is crazy.  Give us some hints, give us some red herrings, give us some cryptic evidence.  And for God's sake, show us who he is.  And it BETTER be good...   But knowing this head writer, I doubt the reveal will be anything exciting.  Just another outside force coming into town to cause trouble.   I hope I'm wrong.

  • So there we have Lily and Damian in the same clothes, so the same day having 2  meet ups in different venues.
  • Just about sums up the show and I'm sure there was a lot of talk about business.
  • And they make NO effort to cover up that CL has no customers. I would feel uncomfortable sitting in an empty space. And anyone who wants to defend that set after looking at those pics, go ahead. Sharon must be losing a fortune on that place, maybe that's why she's decided against an update.
  • For some reason,CL loses out on having extras. At least the other venues might have 4 or so people milling around.

Wake me up when Phyllis stops being the centre of the show again. Haven’t these writers learned from their mistakes? They want her to be a heroine so bad. Sharon is being used to prop up Phyllis once again by making her seem jealous over her and Nick having an intimate moment. Wtf? Why would Sharon care? it’s Phyllis’ world and everyone is just living in it. Gagggggggg

Hmmm. That was a little bit better.

I admit that it did appear that Damian and Lily are dancing around each other. I don't mind it tooo much because I like them together. But there is only so many times they can have issues around trust. But at least he decided he might be willing to work with her against Dumas.

I actually enjoyed Giggly Heffa/Billy/Sally. This time at least. I would have liked to see Phyllis continue to be introspective and form an obsessive bond to Sharon...which was where their storyline appeared to be going...because it felt like it was going to lead to something new. So sad that does not seem to be the case. That said...Phyllis scheming is something I can get behind and MS does give good scheme face. Bonus that it will move the Dumas storyline right along by her taking things into her own hands.

Phyllis...and Victor? Well...hmmm.

I have to giggle at these Summer mentions.

I agree that Damian definitely has his own style. For the most part, I love it because it does help him stand out. Though he appears to be going through an all brown phase that has been kinda hit or miss. I preferred when he came on, and his style was mixed up a little bit.

When I think of Holden's style...he definitely looks L. A. or a big city. And I also think metrosexual off his clothes and general vibe. Which at least I feel suits him and is still very much different from Damian.

Thank you! Yes. It really has been very plain when it comes to the men's wardrobe over the years. So it is part of the reason the changes are standing out so much more with them. Now she needs to do the same with the women. I love leather is being tried...because Goth...but I feel it works perfectly with some characters' styles over others where I see it and think it's just there to be there or a lame attempt to be edgy.

AMMMMMMMMMYYYYYYYYY!!! Thank the Lord! lol. But at least I now have something of interest to watch. So good to see Audra and Amy reunited. hehe. I also liked the continued bonding between Damian and Nate. Side-note...those pants on SD and all of that cake is PERFECTION. Mmmm.

I also enjoyed the continued dragging of Billy. First by the son. And then by the father. lol. Billy standing there and being so insufferable and wonder why people are giving him the business. He can stay at that bar and STFU. Double for Chelesa.

And ugh at Giggly Heffa wasting Victor's (and the audience's) time with her inability to spit it out. At least she made up for it by calling Dumas directly. I was just talking about how I love near-miss in the BTG thread, but the difference here is that the Dumas part of the Damian storyline has gone on too long. So her near-miss was annoying.

    • I guess Wayne felt it was now or never. He'd made a splash at Days and probably hoped that would lead to a primetime series. If he signed for another 3 years at Days then the momentum would be lost and he's probably have to stay in soaps like so many others. And in the back of his mind there was the knowledge he could probably get a role on SB or GH if he didn't luck out in primetime or Days didn't want him back. As it turned out he returned to Dynasty and got a couple of primetime gigs before agreeing to go back to Days.

I got to agree. The show was a mess.  The stories that are not working were the ones featured in today's episode. That was a red flag indicating how bad the episode was going to be.
    • Thanks as always @alwaysAMC The remote was panned in the soap press at the time, especially Philip wandering around in the costume as well as some of the comedy.  I have to admit it didn't bother me, even though I knew how ludicrous the idea was of the Spauldings having a wedding at a theme park. I thought there were some fun moments and I did like the scene where Lucy got to cry and grieve over what Brent had done to her.  I think I was just glad to get away from the stories in Springfield, which were bad and getting worse.  There are a number of attempts at revamping the opening music in 1996. I'll be interested in what you think of them. I remember being glad they updated the photos but also noticing how cheap they looked. The show did need a new opening. Sadly, Rauch would instead just not even have an opening for over 5 years.
    • BTG: - Shelley Curtis first listed as Director on May 19   Another FOJulie director.
    • It’s been awhile since I’ve seen a good soap cat fight so this was highly satisfying. Loved the Drew/Curtis scenes. Drew may not end up murdered but someone is going to try and kill him and it feels like it’s going to be much sooner than later. Who thought Dante ranting and raving for weeks on end would be good writing just to create angst between him and Gio. I really don’t think you needed to make Dante this fuc.king annoying.
    • I get what you're saying, in that this is what allows you to accept what you are watching, and that works for you. But for me, changing the traits of a character that much with a recast and new writing, then they are no longer the same character.  I am unable to accept that a villain is now just a nice dude because the show wants me to, I just cannot.  If they want a grey character, then they should write off the villain and *create* a new character who is grey.  I'll never accept that Sonny Corinthos is a nice guy, despite what GH wants me to think.  Same goes for the villains on DAYS. It's frustrating for me, and not enjoyable.  It occurs to me that I watch soaps to be entertained, and the current show is just making me angry and irritated. It's not fun for me.  I want to honor Drake to see John's story conclude, but there isn't much of interest to me anymore at all, so I'll probably stop following the show in a few weeks.
    • The wikipedia article doesn't explain much. I watched the Party of Five reboot, it was on Freeform in 2020.  It was five years ago, but I'll tell you what I remember: In the original Party of Five series , the parents died, and the five sibling orphans worked together to raise themselves with the older ones looking out for the younger, while managing the family restaurant.  The oldest child wants to have fun but ends up assuming the responsibility. In the 2020 reboot: The family were Mexican, the parents were undocumented, and the oldest child is an adult who could stay in the US for DACA.  In the reboot, instead of the parents dying -- in the first episode the parents were arrested by ICE and sent back to Mexico.   The five children were left in the U.S. to raise themselves with the older ones looking out for the younger, while managing the family restaurant.  The oldest child wants to have fun but ends up assuming the responsibility.  The teens go through teen stuff and the older ones explore careers.  The child daughter feels sad without her parents, and there is also a baby.  But the children were able to have periodic phonecalls with their parents in Mexico, which were very emotional.  The children hire an attorney to try to get their parents returned to the U.S.  The dad phones them to check on the management of the restaurant.  The younger children crave talking to the mom on the phone. The viewers also see how the parents are coping with the strain in Mexico:  the mom works as a nanny and the dad gets odd jobs-- they almost divorce, and the mom wants to stay in Mexico.  I think a few of the children got to take the bus to Mexico to visit their parents. The youngest child was a baby and the next-youngest missed the parents very much.  In the season one finale, it was decided that the youngest two would remain Mexico and live with their parents.  The older children remained in the USA and were following their dreams.  Season One finished airing just as the COVID epidemic began and everything shut down. The show was not renewed for Season Two.   That's all I remember.  It was good but very different from the original. Edit to add: Amazing how the world has changed in five years.  The reboot was filmed in 2019 during the first Tr*mp presidency, and aired in 2020.  The immigration situation was tense then, and that was explored in the series.  But it seems carefree in comparison to the real world today in 2025. Edit to add more thoughts.  I have no idea what would have happened in future seasons, since the five siblings were no longer a "party of five" at the end of Season One.   Supposedly the cancellation wasn't even announced until after the Season One finale aired.  But the season one finale was 90 minutes and wrapped up some lose ends, so maybe the producers anticipated a cancellation, and did that just in case? Perhaps if it there had been future seasons, the younger children would age and then return to the USA and the five would reunite? I don't know.
    • Probably not. Then again, if any character defined the final 25 years of GL it was Reva.

The roles of Martin and Kat will now be played by Andre and Eva
    • Nope, we had taste, even in the 90s, and the richest family in town throwing a wedding at an amusement park was never cool. But, isn't funny that they're all back in Florida, but nobody mentions this is where Reva went nuts and drove off a bridge.  It seems like it might trigger some memories.
