DAYS: May 2025 Discussion Thread

When I saw the spoiler pics for Tuesday May 27, I was concerned that the episode would entirely be about Ari's hook-up, Sophia's adoption process, and Leo doing whatever.
I don't mind some of that, but I didn't want to lose the momentum of the John and Bo storylines.

I was glad to see that it was written more organically -- the teens and young adults doing their normal stuff, but they they get the news about John.   Glad Tate was there.  They must have found a way for Leo Howard to tape before/after his wedding.  Glad they all talked about John. Good to know that Tate, Ari, and Johnny are visiting John at the hospital -- not sure if that was or will be shown, but at least it's happening.

I want to add my comments in appreciation of the turnaround these new writers have somehow accomplished. If you'd told me this would happen this way, I'm not at all sure I would have believed it! I didn't know it was possible & I've been watching soaps daily since the 70s. This is remarkable. Kudos go to several people. It's as if DAYS never stopped being a great soap. The dark days are gone, long gone, it would seem. Happy DAYS are here again. Although, of course, this is a sad time, very sad. I didn't mean to disrespect that.

I just finished with today & it was definitely odd. I can understand that they've got to fill in extended family. There was just so much of it. Without even one scene of Marlena. That, to me, was problematic. However, I'm not going to jump to any conclusions. We'll see what tomorrow brings.

I had to think about how Tate is related to everyone.

First:  major storylines of John and Bo.

Tate is obviously grandson of John via Brady Black.

Tate is twice-connected to Bo:
Bo is Tate's great-uncle via Isabella.
Bo is Tate's great-uncle via Kimberly.

Tate is separately related to Pandrew:
Andrew is Tate's uncle on the Donovan-Brady side.
Paul is Tate's uncle on the Black side.

Connections to young people in town:
Via Kimberly and Roman, Tate is related to Johnny and Will.
Will is Ari's father, so Tate is related to Arianna via Will.

Via Isabella and Justin, Tate is related to Sonny.
Sonny is Ari's third parent, so Tate is connected to Ari via Sonny.

I started to diagram out second cousins, third cousins, half-cousins,
half-uncles, "once-removed", etc, and then stopped myself, LOL.
What matters is that they are extended family to one another.

    • I'm surprised it took me this long to get into RH. The soap is so damn good, I am just as obsessed with the Ryan's as Delia. The Ryans are a great family unit and seem like good people. I wish I had a family like that. This show has so many parallels to BTG. Frank's mystery is very similar to Martin's. Both are my favorites on each show. adding more thoughts soon once I get a consistent watch going.
    • I also get why Gio feels his life was a lie. I get everyone's emotions are high now That's why I think Monica passing will be the catalyst that starts to the healing process for Gio, BLQ, Lois, Tracy, Ned, Olivia and Dante
    • Judging by the fact that I was able to watch two episodes today, looks like Canada being a day ahead might be permanent.
    • Agreed! I normally don't rate Amanda Setton that highly as an actress, but she knocked those scenes out of the park. Between this and the Michael storyline, I think we're in for a week of juicy drama. I heard everyone talking about how dull Rory Gibson was on Y&R, but I thought he was pretty good today playing a steelier version of Michael. And I loved Wiley's little "Bye mommy!" moment. The writers clearly know how much most of us hate Willow if they're tossing out little nuggets of schadenfreude like that one.
    • Slower day, but not bad. I thought Tomas was at his personal best today, flirting with Kat at Uptown.  Hayley is pregnant!  Oh boy... Samantha felt more like the babysitter today vs. the young sister. I'm ready to meet Sharon. I want a strong dynamic so it's not a repeat of what we just saw with Tracy's reunion.
    • They've been on same day for three episodes, which is a good thing because the days flowed weird to me before.
    • I see both Lois and BLQs sides re Gio BLQ wanted her son to be happy. Lois wanted to make sure it happened, so she gave him to family. Selfish?  Yes, but I get it Gio was raised by a loving mother and extended family. Lois followed BLQ wishes Great acting by AS & RS

date: Tuesday, May 27 | Christopher Dunn, Lynn Martin | Steven Williford I feel bad for Chelsea; she's exploring her feelings, and they're getting [unintentionally] hurt. But I love the support that Katherine has for her cousin. Bradley, you deserve one hundred times better than Deadbeat. So much more. Anita essentially tossing Tracy out... whew. She's done. DONE. Ouch... Chelsea hit the nerve with Katherine. How interesting... I feel like Tracy is becoming the mirror Anita has been avoiding while being a Dupree. What are these top secret things she's harbouring? I really hope Jessica's interest in Tyrell is genuine, because if it isn't, it might just destroy him. Back alley meetings? Your family? As if Bradley is not part of your family... Deadbeat, sit your ass down. Hey, Childbride, lower your damn voice. You're in the country club, not the country field where your ass belongs. And oh God, she's knocked up. Whew... here we go! Dante Greene, what control did this man have? But I appreciate that Anita and Tracy are uniting together; I pray that Sharon joins them soon. I love how easy Katherine and Tomas are with each other; it's smooth, it's natural and it's blooming in all the right ways. Hayley is about to battle the Dupree women for all she's worth. I am calling it right now. The unwavering support Vernon continues to provide to Anita is paramount; I adore them as the couple they are. Notes: Mike Manning (Bradley) continues to show up time and time again in scenes with Brandon Claybon (Deadbeat), who brings nothing to the table. There is an extreme lack of romantic chemistry between them. I'm wondering how different Dante Greene is going to be in comparison to Berry Gordy Jnr; we know the true history of Diana Ross and the Supremes, but how different will it be with Anita Williams and the Articulettes?
    • This episode is beyond excellent Could have waited on tge Trina Kai scenes  but regardless  great soap
    • Haha same! I didn't like her in the beginning, but over time, I've really grown to love to hate her as a villain.  I can't wait to listen to today's new episode later tonight! I've been waiting for the mom and dad (Crystal/Vincent) to have an interaction, so I'm happy to hear it's today.
