-- Joey is a decent looking guy, but is he really "fine," as Vanessa calls him? Girl, you've been riding Diego, so I doubt that Joey is fine.

JL is one fine looking man, I'd hit it lol

I don't buy Nicole and Vanessa as besties, either. Their personalities and their entire vibes are so different. Vanessa makes sense as a close friend of Dani.

But no, the show had to shoehorn in Cady McClain as Dani's friend for some reason, when Cady's vibe would match much better with Nicole.

This is what I have said: Cady's Pamela should have been a write-in for Nicole, while Vanessa stayed tied to Dani.

Same; I'd be more apt to go for Jon Lindstrom (Joey) over Carlos Palacio (Diego)

Oof if the first couple of weeks were stronger than the past week...

The show has many issues but I cannot get past Derek/Ashley/Andre. What a bizarre non-triangle. Literally everything about this story makes me go "huh???". First the pregnant lady in the elevator, which was cliche and flat and did nothing of note.

Okay fine, a hiccup but then we have Derek, the firefighter saving a CAT from a burning building? Who is coming up with this stuff? There is no way that they think viewers in 2025 are tuning in for this. How did either of those plot points pass the idea stage? Whoever came up with them should've been immediately dismissed I'm sorry.

I can't agree more. All of these plot ideas flopped... I also think some of the dialogue for Ashley and Derek has been very commercial for baby diaper level of bland. I don't want to start fast forwarding half the episodes in the future.

Jacob? Manly? Well...YES. HEHE.

I meant about Anita's police gala. We haven't had much build on that outside of the initial scene. Meanwhile, we get mentions of both Nicole/Ted anniversary party and Dani's fashion event. I just feel that we will get more from Anita soon. Events are the best places for soaps to reveal secrets and given the writing team on this show that is exactly what will happen.

That said...I do hope that for Anita's gala, she does bring one of her band members back. But also that would be a great opportunity to bring in one of her sisters if she has one like you mentioned. Or what Jacob's mother saw Anita and his dad at the gala, didn't like the vibe, and started to unearth something from Anita's past...bringing out a new family member for Anita.

Ohhh @Taoboi I love how you think.  Ever since we Saw Anita with Jacob's dad I thought there was chemistry there and thought what is hidden between these two???  I would also like to see more of Jacob's family too.

I love this take :)

Don't forget the off the charts heat generating love scenes set to an R&B slow jam.

Thank you. It's just so unusual. Especially on today's soaps. AND they have chemistry. How can you not want them together just a little bit?

Do we have a webpage yet that lets us know what all these songs featured on the show are yet? Cuz quite a few in their scenes I admit if I had the time, I totally would go and see who sung it. Like their latest scene together, I really wanted to know the song. It (and they) were THAT good.

I think I am the only one who likes both the lawsuit and the gambling stories.

You're not. ;)

Thank you!!! As much as I love Anita with Vernon, she and Jacob's dad did have chemistry, too. And would have been that way with him if Vernon was in the room? Things that make you go hmmm.

I love the mention of Jacob's family for sure. Wouldn't it be funny if MVJ showed the other soaps how to properly introduce a new family. With gradual mentions and appearances over a period of time and then BOOM vs just appear and have them in the audience's 5 days a week (propping included). I like we got a mention of Jacob's mother and what she does and a mention of a brother named Luke. And I believe they are all police adjacent.

I see chemistry with Ashley and Andre so I'm not completely against this but the way it's been written is absolutely terrible. It definitely reminds me of one of those early soap failed plots. Ashley has so many connections but none have been properly utilized to develop her, instead we get this silly Mary Sue storytelling with everybody talking about how wonderful she is.

I don't know how Derek made it from the page to the screen. There seems to be absolutely no plan for him. He has no personality, no friends or family and he was given a job that isolates him from the entire cast. They could've just made him a cop so he'd at least have Jacob to interact with but a firefighter? On a soap? Seems pointless.

I think of the three the actress who plays Ashley is the strongest and with a character that had some real thought put behind her she could excel.

Derek from conception to casting makes no sense. I say this only because it's true but he looks both terrified and terrifying. He has one singular expression. He's constantly wide-eyed like Frankenstein's monster hit by his first bolt of lightning. I have no clue how he was cast on this show unless they ultimately intend to reveal that Derek is a serial killer. If so, they're showing their hands a little early!

Other thoughts:

The women by and large are so well cast. Eva and Kat are STARS, both are stunningly beautiful and incredibly talented. I know they're both young and green but they don't feel like actors finding their footing, they really embody their characters. If I Were Running Things I would hitch my wagon to their rivalry (and at the same time let's pace it out a bit, show some layers, there's no need for Kat to be so abrasive all the time). I'd also get them a MUCH more interesting man to fight over. Tomas is not it.

Dani's merry-go-round of self-destruction should not be this repetitive two months into the show. She should make mistakes, a lot of them but not the same one over and over this close together. On top of that you have her and Andre's semi-weekly trysts that feel empty and played out already.

The bones of a captivating show are THERE, the cast is mostly solid, the sets are lovely despite the department store lighting...sometimes I feel like it's operating like a show that's been on for years who we're desperately hoping gets it's mojo back and not a show that should be hitting the ground running.

By the WAY, bougie girls like Kat? Are not cooking for a man on a first date, even fake cooking.

No, she would expect him to 1) ask her what type of cuisine she prefers 2) make the reservation and 3) order her a rideshare to and from the restaurant (in the past she'd ask that he pick her up and take her home but it's 2025, she is not getting in a car alone with a stranger). She'd also let him know as soon as they sat down that there would be no hanky panky. And she most certainly would not have told him that she was a virgin on the first date. Come on!

I feel like more of the women have settled into their roles. Not so much the men.

Naomi is being dramatic calling 911 for Bill. Its not an emergency. She can drive him down to the hospital. Wasting ambulance resources and time
