I cringed when Tomas in reaction to Kat's virginity... Said that he admired her discipline or something like that.

I mean... As if keeping virginity is some type of sport or a diet. Maybe for some people it is... But still... Sounded so uninspired and stupid.

Also. When you don't have experienced talent making the bad dialogue work... It always is more apparent. The curse for the bad dialogue writer is the bad actor.

-- Shanice is a combination of a little Shanice, a little Tiffany Haddish, and a little Ava from Abbott Elementary. I ain't mad about it.

-- For now, I don't want Shanice anywhere but at that nurses' station. She thrives there.

-- Dani and Bill kissed at the end, but my guess is this will all blow up in short order. Bill will want something, Dani will be pissed, anger will ensue, Bill will leave. Then Dani hits the bottle again.

-- Chelsea vs. Hayley was fun, but I could not get over that Mardi Gras coat Hayley wore. Girl will never have class.

-- Derek and Ashley have little chemistry, but Andre and Ashley have even less. I don't buy for a minute that there's some connection there. Ashley is soooooo basic they should rename her Basic Ashley. And how many times today did she tell Andre to stop being weird? Her conversations with him are pathetic.

Ashley is Beyond Basic. I think she's so basic and vanilla that it makes me want to defend Derek. Derek is a stone, but there's still something sexual there. With Ashley, there isn't. I can't understand why she was cast.

YES!  I should have saved the episode to write down all the weird/awkward dialogue but I remember that one about the virginity too--I mean could you imagine someone you're dating saying that?  (Of course they'd never say it in my case, but

)  There was another one in the bar/restaurant with the other characters that I'm trying to remember...

I think Dani will have to hit absolute rock bottom first before realizing her true calling(be it modeling or a tv show host). Meaning we’ll have to sit thru this alcoholism storyline and her realizing once and for all she doesn’t need Bill (probably at the conclusion of this drinking story) before she can truly tackle a career path that’s right for her.

I had the same thought re Ava/Abbott watching the ep.

Plenty of time for Shanice to blossom-right now she's saving the hospital scenes.

Andre/Jacob -equally tasty.

Danni and a podcast-no thanks. Seeing her interviewing people or a monologue would not be interesting to me, no matter how juicy. She's been happily in the background for decades, so any move to express her independence would be fine. Maybe she would be all in on, say, a boutique and then realize it's too much like hard work and doesn't get her enough attention.

Not sure what would be a good fit.

Vanessa saying she has a team of thousands working for her is overkill, when we have yet to see an associate or an office.

Jacob/Naomi need a house and more family interaction.

Right now the meeting places are the Country Club, Orphey Gene's and that green nightime bar.

I get that Orphey's is a traditional venue that hasn't changed since the year dot and people love it for that,  but it does seem a little downmarket to be the go to  meeting place. Maybe something a little more upmarket but not quite Country club is needed as an option.

Sad, but true.

Still...I would love to see her do it. The potential is so there.

Well to be fair we know they have a bedroom so...

The bedroom has a bathroom attached I guess,so Jacob solo coming out of the shower will suffice for now.

I do find myself rewriting eg when Kat had the fantasy scene, I think it would have flowed better had she received Tomas' message first and that would have spurred the fantasy(which should have been presented more clearly as  her imagining)

    • This, plus they nixed their overnight set crew during the COVID era and never brought them back.

    • I did some research because I had a similar question.  A Reddit user who works at TeleVision City (where Y&R is filmed) estimated it takes 45 minutes to set up or reconstruct an already built set.  However, according to union rules, it takes at least seven crew members (not counting lighting and sound installation).  As always, the real cost is the labor, not the task.   Y&R uses robotic cameras, so there is only a skeleton crew on set.  Most of their crew budget goes to production assistants, who cannot move sets.  So, they would need to hire a crew every time they wanted to put up or take down a set (for two days) as well as a lighting and sound design installation.  Which is obviously very different from how production worked when money was more freely spent (and good for the unions for keeping the workplace safe). So, filming a single day in Lauren and Michael's living room could cost as much as they spend on two actors salaries for an entire year.
    • I knew Giovanni Mazza was talented but damn that kid is a star in the making.
    • The Nurses' Ball has always been cringey, fast forward material for me, but especially during the Frank era. The musical numbers and audience reactions are unwatchable.  So many of the conflicts on this show feel phony and manufactured. Probably no better instance is the Gio - Dante crap. Gio's whole story is inorganic, plot driven, no stakes, fake conflict; giving people lame drama just to give them drama, a prime example of GH under Frank.
    • What is the reason why soaps can’t use whatever sets they want? How exactly does it cost money..? I’m sure they still have Michael and Lauren’s house, why can’t they just put it up and shoot it when needed lol
    • I'm binging last week and I still find it so odd how different the show feels. Before I felt like each episode felt so long but the show is gliding by now. I'm on Thursday and it's crazy how real the characters feel. It doesn't feel like Days of Our Lives because I'm so used to everything being slapstick. It's definitely nice seeing layers to the characters now. I'm beginning to feel really confident about the coming months when the new headwriters can introduce their own stories.
    • And, Dani's focus, whoa, when she deigns to really pay attention, her focus is laser sharp. And, Chelsea is a natural attention seeking target for Dani. She is so much more mother than I realized before.

    • I did enjoy the Dani/Chelsea scene! It’s nice to see Dani show a little more nuance, and I agree I do buy her and Chelsea as mother/daugher.
