Casey Kasprzyk, The Bold and the Beautiful

It looks like “The Bold and the Beautiful” will be heading back to Italy for its next big location shoot, according to a recent update shared on Instagram by the show’s supervising producer, Casey Kasprzyk.

On Friday, Kasprzyk shared several photos during a scouting trip in Naples, Italy, captioning his post, “Quick trip to Italy this week to scout locations in Naples and Capri,” which included photos of “the best pizza in Napoli.”

Joining Kasprzyk for the adventure were Elisa Gastaldello, a business marketing and management communications specialist based out of Milan, Italy; Titti Cinque, a location manager based out of Naples, Italy; and Anthony Ferrari, Vice President of International Operations for “The Bold and the Beautiful.”

“Capri! My favorite!! Have soooo much fun!” commented Jennifer Gareis, who plays Donna Logan on the soap, in response to Kasprzyk’s post.

Whether the show chooses Naples or Capri, either location would make it the sixth time that the daytime drama series will have taped episodes on location in Italy, following trips to Lake Como in 1997, Venice in 1999, Portofino in 2002, Puglia in 2012, and, more recently, Rome in 2023.

When choosing the Italian capital city, executive producer and head writer Bradley Bell said at the time it was chosen for its “effective romanticism” and to pay homage to the Italian voice actors whose voices are used to dub over the American actors portraying the show’s central characters.

No word yet on when the show might formally head to Italy for shooting or which characters/actors would be involved.

Check out photos from Kasprzyk’s time in Naples below.

I never want Ridge & Brooke back together. Things have gone past the point of no return between them and hopefully this breakup is the final nail in their coffin.

I am hoping this remote will bring Thomas back and possibly sending some of the younger set like Will, Luna, Electra, and Remy. But I am sure it will include the usual suspects but who knows???

Someone tell Casey and Bradley that Bold needs actual romance in their show for these useless tiresome remotes. The writing needs to improve a lot before they have another remote.

Add me to the list that doesn't want to see a Brooke and Ridge redux reunion. They have zero chemistry and Ridge has stomped all over Brooke with nothing left to salvage.

At this point... Ridge may just put a leash on Brooke's head and she can be walked around like a dog. That's the level of degradation the character has suffered. Even when she was sleeping with her daughter's husband... she was not that pathetic. Begging a man who called your child a slut and a bitch... to live with you... is a whole new level of cringe.

But keeping it on topic - I think Bold should fix their inner problems before jumping to Italy. When you smell like poop... you will smell like poop wherever you go. A 3 episode cheese fest in Italy won't fix the problems. But OK... They should be thankful that Italy still airs them by the way.

Yes Brad and company need to fix the problems with the show and use the money for location shoots to put towards more sets

The last few location shoots have been pointless. Monaco last year with Bridge was literally pointless

I want another SINN reunion, cause we know Steffy most likely gonna leave town when JMW goes on maternity leave. Tanner's only done 1 location shoot in his 5 years on the show, he's due for another

But our luck it's probably Broken Bridge and Liam/Hope

Bold does need some new sets. I'm getting tired of seeing that awful tiny bitsy pizza place they call a business.

Bold sets pale in comparison to BTG.

This remote will likely be partially subsidized by the the cities' and Italy's tourism marketing budget. They really don't have that many 'film' days on location - maybe two or three. All outdoors and pretty simple.

B&B has always been untouchable when it comes to remotes - LA, Aspen, international. The production is prime time quality.

The irony is that if B&B got 'Peapack'd' - they'd probably flourish.

I wonder why they’ve never taken advantage of the story potential of featuring a remote based around London/Paris/New York/etc. Fashion Weeks. It writes itself.

About 10+ years ago, these remotes became a thing to do just because, so now they have to come up with contrived and pointless reasons to justify them.

    • Like I've said before, if there was any character that defined GL's final 25 years, it was Reva.
    • Thanks! She seems to be using Samantha Vernon's script in the test for Tina.  She has such a strong presence even here.
    • The actors said in interviews that the scenes of John dying and the eventual memorial service was finished filming the week before Drake passed away.

The actors didn't know how near the time was for Drake to pass away. But they knew he was terminally ill and they were shedding real tears.
    • I did not expect Bo and Hope to be back already, I thought they were coming later. It is nice to see John was apparently doing all this for them. Far be it from me to be hypercritical (haha), but this whole "let's show John Black from behind and play old sound clips" thing is super-tacky to me. But it's classic Days Brain about style and taste choices going back at least 25 years. We forget how they had Alice 'killed' by Marlena. If it were me I'd just have John die in a blaze of glory in some entirely offscreen heroism, or maybe seen only briefly in the background of some action-packed sweeps event doing the same. Not these awkward scenes where these poor actors pretend they are talking to their coworker who just died from behind (or in bed) while they play Drake's voice like it's the morning zoo radio soundboard. Maybe I'll feel differently as I watch more, we'll see.
    • I said the same thing about Dani Dupree. That's when you know the writing is good because a complex character has been written that can be taken in multiple different ways.
    • John's final scenes as the bandaged burn victim... are a full circle moment to John's very first scenes on DAYS as the bandaged Pawn.

    • There's an exhaustion factor with Reva (and characters who "eat" shows like Y&R's Cricket, ATWT's Lily or B&B's Brooke or Taylor...depending on which way you lean)  that colors my perception of her now. It's hard to remember exactly what I thought of her then, but soaps were different before---you could like multiple characters/couples and the writing didn't feel as slanted as it's become. (I will say, fans be fans. I was amazed to see Quint/Nola fans still having smoke for Vanessa when reading comments nearly thirty years after the fact.) And hindsight is 20/20. I know how the story ends. There's no denying Kim could sell igloos to Eskimos, but I do kinda resent that somehow Guiding Light is remembered as "that show with Reva".
    • Not sure opening my return to Salem by showing the surviving cast happily chatting to a body double seen from behind while old Drake Hogestyn lines are added to the soundtrack is giving me the proper 'all-new, mature Days' experience I was hoping for.
    • It usually trends between #3-5 now. Under Ron, it was usually between #6-8

I imagine he would've done a good job with the tribute to John... but I also worry that he would've made Leo a part of it  His face is completely bandaged, similar to how he looked when he first came into Days. And the voice sounds a little similar, but you can tell that it isn't Drake.
    • Leslie was crying today after Eva left the apartment.
