I can't wait for Bill + Dani to have raunchy, clothes ripping, hate sex! Chemistry off-the-charts.

Huge plus that Hayley isn't being portrayed as simply a one-dimensional thirsty climber - even though she is!

The elevator birth s/l was a smart contrast to the Dupree's darkness with the wedding. I'm liking Ashley more than I thought. Nurse Shanice is brilliant!

Kudos to all these scenes with several characters. It really makes it feel like old school soaps, plus it makes it easier to see the connections, conflicts, alliances, etc.

It was smart to start with 20 contract + 20 recurring. The talent will rise during the next few weeks.

thanks for that. So plenty of sets to come, which is great.

I wonder how many of those sets are permanently set up and what sort of flexibility they have in using the sets.

Also, there must be room and provision for one off sets like Bill's hotel room and the room where Vanessa was preparing for the wedding. Maybe those sort of sets will be repurposed in the future.

Now I’m done with Episode 006 from 03/03:

What a Turn of Events at the Wedding! I’m so happy it wasn’t just a Common Soap Dream and Dani actually put a gun out and Held them at gunpoint. I really did feel sorry for her.
Chelsea live streaming the event is so ridiculously soapy but I loved it. I also was enjoying that little conflict of Naomi and her Detective husband Jacob.
Nicole is such a sweetheart how she went After her and didn’t judged her. But Martin was just concerned that this bad press would put his secret into the Spotlight. He wasn’t concerned one bit about her lol

I just wished Hayley would’ve Done it and kneeling down. Lol but they did married after all. Nice

But Anita was so strict and Cold.

But there is just One Thing that gives me some questions in my Head: Hello guys? How Can Dani‘s Stunt came out of nowhere when she was actually attacking Hayley and Bill like every damn Day last week? Lol

Wow! I’m so excited about the revenge Plot of Dana Leslie and Eva. We finally got some backround Story and got to know them and Set the revenge Plot in motion! Can’t wait for more. Both are such Strong actresses with Great Facial Acting too.

I know people seemed a Bit bothered by Ashley‘s Plot. But I have to say that it was working with me. I couldn’t Care less about the Patient. If it’s Not a Hospital Soap like GH, Binnelanders. Shortland Street, Grey’s anatomy then I don’t need any drawn put Patients and their backround Storys especially not in week 2. This was just a plot device to let André and Ashley Bond and it worked for me.

Poor Smitty.

I like where it looks like they’re going with him and Martin but the lack of chemistry is really hurting both actors and characters. I mean, are they ever gonna show each other any affection? And again, is that Brandon Claybon’s real voice? Because it sounds like he’s putting on a stereotypical “gay voice”

The press conference was ok but I hope this isn’t the end of the follow up from Dani’s outburst at the wedding and that the effects of it play out for a long time.

And, I hope there’s eventually some fall out over Dani/Andre because that could be another potential scandal as well or at least get people gossiping.

I mean, I've been rewatching Melrose Place , so brohugs, awkward ear touching and Andrew Shue's bad acting is all nostalgic to me right now. ngl

Surprisingly, GH is even doing a better job with Lucas/Brad then BTG is doing with Martin/Smitty.

Well, they're not doing the "duuurrrr Aluthin" stare as competently as Derek does!

Episode 7 was... good. Not spectacular. Good.

 Some bread for thought.

Hayley and Bill's place is embarrassing. Really trashy looking. Suits Hayley good. It's quite clear that Hayley is Bill's midlife crisis and she'll just be a burden soon. Of course, she may get herself pregnant just to stay in the community. We'll see. But they don't have a long future ahead.

Martin is horrible. He acts like this is a soap opera parody. I've seen even children in commercials have more natural line delivery. I'm not giving him any more break, just because he's hot. Recast may help this situation a lot. Or... just give him some absurd lines and make the cringe intentional, I don't know. I'll repeat, he and Smitty have no chemistry and they look like strangers when they stand next to each-other. The truth is in the eyes and it's just not working. Someone will say - maybe that is intentional to show problems in the relationship... But no... it's not giving me this either - it's giving me dead... non existent connection ever, these people just don't fit. Chemistry can't be faked. Most of it comes from the fact that Martin struggles to act and convey emotion. I am still grateful for the gay couple, we need to be on screen as much as we can be. But I am calling a spade a spade.

We saw a lot of the family's toxic dynamics. Dani's father is HER BIGGEST ENABLER. Just how I saw it. The way he twisted things for her and about her in front of the media... Jesus Christ. Anita saved this cartoonish press conference. She manipulated the media in a way that Stephanie did on Bold. She shifted the focus from her crazy daughter to... the trash Hayley. That's how it's done. It's not done by borderline denying or twisting what your daughter did. She acknowledged that Dani crossed a line. That was important for me. But she also put light on the reason why all of this happened. The catalyst of the events.

Anita is becoming the reason I'm watching the show, along with the good writing of course. I adore her.

That's it.

Didn't Bill and Hayley just close on their new place?  Not enough time to go in and make it their own space yet.  Or perhaps the lack of individuality in their space is done on purpose to show that their new union is just that... sterile and without warmth.

I'm pretty shocked at what a good job they've done with Lucas. I thought he'd be in and out in two months but Van has been so good in the role I feel it's inspiring them. I wish we could've gotten him as Smitty, but ultimately I do think they'll get there. Both actors have been good in previous roles, they just need to get to know their characters and develop some chemistry. If come May it's still not working I'll re-evaluate how I feel, but with the small improvements I'm seeing across canvas with each episode, I think it's a safe bet to assume most will make it work.

I'm not going to judge BTG on gay representation less than two weeks in. The relationship between the two is clearly strained and weird in story, and that's not even getting to Martin just being a lousy actor. I certainly am not going to give GH points for revisiting the same tired well with Brad and Lucas at this point.

I will 100% pass on Van Hansis as Smitty lol

I may be in the minority here, but I am beginning to like the Ashley character, especially away from Derek.  I say either flesh out his character more or cut him loose.

not sure about that yet. looking forward to hearing more about her backstory. also hoping they flesh out her relationship with naomi.

this could take a while. the downside of shooting so far ahead — they began with three months of episodes in the can.

I'd say she's been popular since her debut. If I were TPTB on this soap, I'd be dropping Ben Gavin (Derek) to recurring and placing Ellie Wang (Caroline Lee) to contractual status; then, whichever next role gets cut/demoted is where Ernestine Johnson (Shanice Johnson) gets upped.

Three months is nothing in comparison to the nine/ten months ahead in which DAYS shoots. Most American daytime soaps are six-to-eight weeks tape-to-air, so they're closer to the standard than DAYS. Even British soaps are more ahead in their production than most American ones. And them being ahead three months also gives them time to adjust and tweak now for episodes, etc. which is smart.

    • Creatively, he probably should have stayed with The Doctors, where he stood out as an antihero lead. Not sure what happened with GH. He didn't have the same impact. Was it bad writing, not clicking with co-stars? Didn't they gave him a boat load of money to join GH in 1976? Was Mark Dante just a toned-down version of Nick Bellini? Were they basically the same character?
    • All I can think of is if a lot of big names were leaving around that time she wanted him back as a stopgap, although I have never seen any real evidence that he was popular with GH viewers.
    • I loved watching Shanice hand Leslie her ass and finally shutting her up. It was so good. I also love Martin & Smitty's family.  Anita has to have some sort of plan giving Leslie the tickets to mail for Winterfest. She has to be setting her up for a fall. It's pretty obvious to me Vernon is not cheating with Sharon. I think Sharon is helping him with his terrible singing voice for Winterfest. I still believe Bill & Dani are endgame but I love Dani & Andre too. I am definitely enjoying this story. And making Hayley a black widow is a nice twist.
    • Sorry for the spam. Wasn't sure where to put this, it's from Tony Geary's husband's IG. Tony watching Genie and Maurice on Mo's show.
    • This show is really trundling along BTW. When is someone going to show up to slit Beastmaster's throat or crack the whip on metrosexual Sidwell? (BTW, openly presenting this cheery bon vivant as casually bisexual would at least be something vaguely diverting.) At least kill Brennan by year's end. I'm bored.
    • She told Vanessa to "DOUBLE her offer" on the Jarvis house.  The Jarvis family accepted the doubled price.  Assuming the house has an appraised value of $2,000,000, she's theoretically paid the Jarvis family $4,000,000 for the house.  The bank would loan Leslie 80% of the appraised value ($1,600,000), and Leslie had to pay the balance with cash at closing --- $2,200,000.  She only had ONE million.  Where the hell did she get the rest?!  And now she's got contractors working on the house all day & half the night.  Who's paying THEM?  I keep thinking all this will crash around her.  Either that or the writers have absolutely no idea the limits of a million dollars.  Sounds like a "lot of money", but it obviously ain't when we look at Leslie's spending since she got that million dollar check in August.

    • Vernon is an idiot. Why would he have Sharon in the same hotel that Leslie is staying at?
    • Yes, that out of the blue return was odd. Maybe GG found a forgotten clause in the contract he signed when he was wooed to ABC and they were forced to take him back! Like George Reinholt he talked about the contract that promised him primetime roles. But it was loaded in the networks favor. I think it was Gloria Loring that re-signed at Days on the promise of primetime opportunities, but that was all it was- she was put up for guest spots and TV movies but not necessarily guaranteed that she get the role.
    • I still am baffled by why Monty brought back stunt hire Gerald Gordon in the early '80s out of nowhere for like a year. I haven't found anyone who can come up with a thing he did in that second stint of note.
