Im with Soaplovers. Dani didnt just turn crazy. I beleive she's always had her issues. The way that she talks about this dance with bill being their cycle implies they've been toxic to each other for quite some time but they always gin their way back to each other. They are very much like Sonny/Carly, Todd/Blair. The difference is Bill and Dani stayed married until Hayley. Im sure before she was spazzing out, obsessing over Bill's whereabouts, attacking the other women (if she knew them) and then run back to apologizing to Bill, wanting to be the perfect wife to save their marriage. He'd agree which put a bandaid on their problems. Hayley changed all that and Im not quite sure who left whom but either way its clear Dani has regret and wish the divorce hadnt been finalized

Never said she just turned crazy. 😉

This is a perfect character description of Dani. Nails it in every respect.

Thank you. ❤️

I want to add a quick note - I still find Dani interesting in some pathological messy way. People like her exist and are among us.

The emphasis on the backstory is tells how Dani got to this point. Getting married at 19 is probably a bad idea and it seems like Bill married her for access to her family. Plus she gave up her career and is driving her daughter to be a model to make up for that. It doesn't even seem like she had any relationships other than with Bill.

Now the drinking might be a new thing and that certainly hasnt helped

@Maxim Good assessment!

Im fairly confident that this show is not going to have a black man (one adjacent from the prominent family) rape a white woman. The optics for what this show is trying to achieve would just be too damaging to it. I dont see MVJ letting that fly on her watch

This show appears to be mirroring a lot in terms of characters and plots. We've got our Stephanie Forrester, Brooke Logan, Sheila. The former Y&R triangle of Lauren/Scott/Sheila now in the form of Nicole/Ted/Leslie, etc.

It’s wild that Dani’s increasingly pathetic behavior is making me start to root for Hayley whom I was totally against in the beginning.

Same here. Dani is fascinating to watch, but holy hell, she's a complete mess and hard to root for.

I do wonder how the writers want us to see Dani. It's hard to believe they expect us to like this version of her.

Another thing I disliked about Dani this week. Everyone tells her to not make Nicole’s program about her (why have her host it, then?), and she gets right up there and says, “I WAS TOLD TO NOT MAKE THIS ABOUT MEEEEEE, so let’s focus on Nicole!” Dani is a narcissistic bitch. I hope Hayley snaps one day, kicks her shoes off, and beats the fooking brakes all off of her. And yall, I hate cheaters! I was 16 when my dad did something similar to my mom (plus a baby!), so I do not easily root for the homewrecker, but when I tell you I need to see this girl wear her ass OUT.

The problem with Dani (and people like her) is that she grew up in a sheltered environment where, by virtue of her wealth and the societal standards of their circle, her narcissism has been only mildly addressed her whole life. Just a year or two in public school would have gotten her the character-building ass-whooping she needed to become a mature adult.

This!

Her family says one thing, but then act in a way that contrasts what they say. They never truly hold her accountable, but instead try to protect her or make excuses. I'm all for families trying to protect their own, but you also need to call your loved ones out on their BS and hold them accountable. Dani coming out during Nicole's interview when she was clearly told to stay away should have made her family livid. Yet, they gave her a pass because she was able to speak so well (which she did).

Is this some younger child dynamic playing out. I wonder what Nicole and Dani's relationship was like growing up.

I totally feel like Dani should be angry that this man pretty much took such pivotal years of her life and stripped her of her career and dreams. However, a gun at a wedding is already a really, really bad mistake to follow that up with breaking into someone's home...where exactly are they taking this character if not towards some mental breakdown.

Like Hayley got him to drop charges once. So you decide to up the ante and break into their home? I’d love for her to actually get locked up this time, since last time she thought it was a game.

I was saying this to a friend... just now... but Dani Dupree reminds me a lot of my own mother. A person I have no contact with for obvious reasons. So many of the moments I've seen... are things my own mother used (and probably still does) to do. And guess what... and you guessed correctly - she always presents herself as some long suffering heroine-victim. If you didn't know her well... you'd think she is the most wronged person in the world.

I hope and pray this doesn't happen.

Yeah, no, I don't think you need to worry about it. There is zero chance BTG is going to run with an opening storyline where a Black lead rapes one of the two white women on contract, no matter what clickbait theories a poster with three active forum accounts under the same SN wants to try to get attention with. He was already spamming videos from psychos calling BTG an anti-Black conspiracy before it aired.

Re: families. I don't think we need a rival family at this point to be honest as the show is busy as it is at the moment. They can always pull out that card once Silkpress's revenge business is done and Bill / Dani / Hayley winds down. Not everything needs to be introduced at once (if anything I think they've introduced too many c-storylines at the moment that don't have the ability to grow for a while due to the business of the A/B storylines)  - we're just about to end week 3!

I agree. I feel it will happen eventually, but it does not at all need to happen right now. I'm good on the Haves and Have-Nots. And when it does eventually happen, it can completely be done through the Have-Nots so bonus and natural growth.

You mean him? I think he kinda slightly ended up being right. But guess what? I like this show anyway.

Same. I can only assume the writers want to keep the audience divisive on Dani...something that has been missing this week vs when the show started and for every good thing about Dani, the writers gave us a bad personality trait for her.

Photography on soaps and TV shows in general tends to be rather bad. It's pretty much screenshots that are cropped without any filtering.

I think the picture turned out like this... because Ashley is obviously a saint.
