It's nice to see Dani's unhinged side. But she's now also putting her future into being a momager. Chelsea still has to drop the bomb about her purse line. Before we get there, the Dupree ladies better werk!

I think Eva is starting to soften when it comes to Ted and Nicole, the more she gets to know them. But certain moments trigger her and Kat being a snob isn't helping. Kat is right and wrong all at the same time. I'd love for this story to be about the two being switched at birth; that Eva is really Nicole and Ted's, since Kat's identity is focused so much on her wealth, while Eva had to get it out of the mud.

I love Jon Lindstrom as a bad guy.

Nurse Shanice remains perfection.

  • Oh, Ms. Dani, what are you up to?! I cannot wait to see what deliciousness she has in store!
  • Eva vs. Katherine is going to be JUICY! Yes! And fool you twice, it's your funeral? Sign me up!
  • Jacob is up to something; he's being elusive to Naomi, and I am kind of here for it.
  • Miss Dana working one of her many disguises. We love it.
  • Mama Nicole is laying the law down (loving it), and Ms. Shanice is taking it all in!
  • Dani & Vanessa are kiki, but I need to see Dani & Pamela, too!
  • A stroll under the stars?! Oh, that sounds so romatic, and I love it.
  • Okay, we're even getting greenscreen?! And it's actually solid?! Ken Corday and Josh Griffith should pay attention. But what happens with Chelsea and her... dalliance? I need a follow-up.
  • Ms. Eva is going to fall for her supposed father's charm, and it's going to piss Miss Mama off. We love it.
  • Oh, a whole new wardrobe?! We love to see it. I wish I could do the same!!
  • Twins in college?! Damn. Vanessa looks good for having college-bound twins!! Oh, and purposefully forgetting her phone so Mr. Diego will come and give it to her? We love it.
  • Douglas is going to owe Joey at some point, and unlike some other American daytime gangsters, I know he'll make sure he's paid what he's owed with interest and without hesitation.
  • So to Dana, Ms. Nicole is "Becky with the good hair." Haha.
  • Anita & Naomi connecting over their love of music is gorgeous.
  • Part tornado? OK Sunshine? Oh, I do adore Anita.
  • Oh, Dani. This is a front you're putting on, and no one is buying it.
  • Well yes, we got a Lemonade mention? Iconic. We love the real-world connections.
  • You can tell that they all had a blast filming those catwalk scenes! We do not get family scenes like this! I love it.
  • So Randy works for Joey. That's kind of tea.
  • So Dana is the woman on the roof, right?! Right?!
  • Oh Ms. Dana is acting! We love it.

OMG NEXT WEEKS LOOKS SO TEA!!!!!

LMAO

I want the show to succeed and revive the genre. But this ratings report looks so forced to spin the data in a positive direction.

Do they want us to root for the Duprees or are they supposed to be the villains? Because the 'shame walk' they did on episode 1 made Hayley look sympathetic. And their attitude around Dani's gun misshap was reminiscent of mafia ways!

I kinda like them. And I don't mind Martin. But them not sharing any affection whatsoever is undeniably sus.

It was B&B-level of ridiculous. The reporters would've eaten Vernon alive. There would've been no time for V's innuendos and spin.

Sorry but Kat going bananas over Eva from the get-go was FORCED.

And what is Eva even looking for? Most of sensitive information lies in digital communications these days (ie e-mails), certainly not a locked filing cabinet.

I was NOT looking forward to the gambling and mob stories. This is going to be silly.

It's honestly jarring and it will become a problem long-term. Look at Y&R's Nick & Sharon. They SORASed Noah in 2006 - when he was barely 10 years old IRL and his parents portrayers were in their early 30s. FF to 2025, and Morrow & Case still look great in their 50s and 40-year-old Noah is nowhere to be found, despite the multiple recasts.

DEAD.

I am glad they put the "next week on BTG" preview clip at the end of the Canadian live feed on chch.
A *lot* to unpack there.
EDIT -- I found the preview video for week of March 10th,
and just posted it on the BTG March spoilers thread.
(I know it aired a the end of the full Fri. March 7 episode,
but posting to spoiler thread, too)

    • Perhaps. But would anyone have wanted The Doctors to turn into what General Hospital ultimately became?  Dear God in Heaven...
    • Thanks @EricMontreal22 that must be one of the last issues. Probably the best soap magazine.
    • I can definitely see that airing the same week as The Love Boat colliding with an iceberg and sinking while crossing the North Atlantic on the Titanic anniversary with a “Who lives and dies?!” Promo next to Mr Belvedere being blackmailed over his wanted fugitive status back in the UK

Agree with you both. I am also going assume that while Hotel may had some big numbers the first 2 seasons BUT the demographics weren’t great. Reason I say this is I distinctly remember my parents watching St Elsewhere and/or The Equalizer after Dynasty.    I still don’t get Hotel’s designation as a primetime soap opera either lol. ABC should have aired Paper Dolls in the 10/9 slot on Wednesdays in the fall of 1984 to give that show some more legs.    Obviously ABC was eyeing a double bill night in the same vein as Dallas & Falcon Crest and that might have worked better than leaving Paper Dolls to the wolves in an untested timeslot.
    • I tend to stay out of EP discussions, simply because I rarely know who EPs when. And they all have their good and bad sides. But how are we supposed to judge JFP on anything other than what we see? I didn't know she was a director or a music director. (and unlike say, Chris Goutman, I never saw her credited as anything other than an EP) Specifically in the matter of casting Crampton, she took credit for it (or at Crampton gave her credit for it, whatever) and it was arguably, one of the worst recasts of the '90's (and either as bad or worse than the actress she fired).  She lost two important actresses in '92 and still decided to kill Maureen.  She had a wildly uneven tenure at GL. It's no wonder she's polarizing. But it kind of proves a point--great soap is always a that rare combination of everything clicking at the same time.  And believe me, if I could bring myself to watch her male successors who were responsible for bringing back Reva and allowing her to eat the show again, or hiring Hunt Block, or being too chicken to stand up to stans who and hamstrung the show with boring couples stuck in the same repetitive stories (Vanessa/Matt, Chelle/Danny or Richard/Cassie, take your pick) not to mention San CristoHELL....I'd be more than happy to roast them on open spits. I guess we end up talking about JFP because she's in a period we can nominally agree was one of the last "best" periods of the show.
    • A degree does not make one an expert at their job, it just shows that you can follow directions from a technical standpoint.  It doesn't mean that they're creative. JFP was all about the look of a show without considering that technical beauty can only carry a show so far if there is nothing interesting to go along with it.  Equality means calling out flaws equally in both genders.
    • NBC or P&G was even fool enough to take a full page ad for two consecutive weeks in TV Guide promoting this horrible storyline.

    • JFP has had more defense for her decades of terrible producing than many male producers ever had.
    • It makes sense that she got a degree in directing. I've always said she should have been a director. I think she works better at the technical aspects of the show. I think her problem is the emotion/heart of a show.  She always guts the heart of the show she's on and she makes decisions that stop longtime viewers from watching a show. I don't think it's sexism to call that out especially as I've said similar things about Conboy. I've called out Rauch for much worse.
    • "Aunt Blanche" first appears toward the end of this episode, about 57 minutes in.

    • You're probably right. They may have just wanted edits of certain characters. Hopefully the rest is around.
