Yeah... I'll give him that

And I still think he does have writing talent too. But like I said, he's also got a lot of issues, and those issues are what got him fired.

Hopefully, he didn't bring them over to BTG.

Post Jamey_Giddens @Jamey_Giddens
My #DAYS episodes will continue to air into early 2026, so I'll be showing both shows plenty of love on social media until, well, forever! Grateful for my time in Salem, and so excited to join my friend @MicheleValJean  at her red-hot new sudser! #BeyondTheGates

When someone last wrote a good script in 2008, I don't believe that. But he's got another show to ruin now. Like many out there, he knows how to fail upward.

The amount of hacks hired on that show is another reason I am wary of whether to invest in it. Beyond lack of talent, it's also a bit sad to see him on a new soap after the way Daytime Confidential treated the revivals of AMC and OLTL.

Before I start, I just have to say once again how glad I am that Jamey Giddens is gone!!!!

As for today, Ava slapping Kristen was the best part. Her smug bitch attitude was so ridiculous today that I’m glad somebody finally did it. Kristen and her little demon spawn deserve a lot more than a slap but this was a good start. Brady looked pathetic again though, except for in his scene with Marlena. He really needs to grow some balls and stop letting Kristen and his awful kid run his life. It’s at the point that I’m wondering why any woman would want him. Except for being hot, he literally has nothing to offer.

One thing I’m hoping for with the new writers is that they stop holding back when characters are fighting or arguing and just have them go all out. There’s no reason why any character hasn’t called Kristen a bad mother yet.

Alex going back to work at Titan is the right decision. Not only does he belong there, but it also shows how ridiculous and pointless this Body&Soul nonsense was. I still think he should be a villain though. He should be trying to undermine Philip and Xander, not being all buddy-buddy with them. Plus, it plays into the way that RSW plays the character. I still have mixed feelings about Joy though and about Stephanie keeping the secret about the possible pregnancy. She should be messy but not just so that it makes Alex look good.

Btw, can we please stop with the Nancy bashing? Dude, we know you hate the character but give it a f*ckin rest. Things like this are why you got fired.

Fingers crossed that he and his bitchboy don’t ruin BTG like they ruined Days.

I was in a zoom with Eric M and Paul T in January and Eric said that the new writers write them as actual 40 something men, instead of having them all act like middle aged teenagers. So at least I have that to hang on to while I endure Leo prancing about and talking like a teen girl

I LOVE Leo. The show must get great feedback about him or they wouldn’t keep writing for him for years now. I read Facebook boards that love Leo as well.

I’d say that Ron and Jamey are winning in life! For someone who can’t write, Ron has been employed steadily for almost 30 years in daytime, winning some Emmys and Writers Guild Awards along the way. Jamey has also done well. Had his own show, written Days for years, and wrote some other show. I like Ron and I cannot stand Jamey but facts are facts. They have been successful in their careers and Michele Val Jean wants them at BTG. She knows what she’s doing. Kudos to both Ron and Jamey for getting gigs at the hottest show in daytime.

In the spirit of giving credit where credit is due, the use of HIPAA violations for a troubled hospital as an excuse for Stephanie not telling Alex that Joy might be pregnant was unique. Usually it would just be guilt, or jealousy, but they actually gave Stephanie a viable conflict.  Compounded with her keeping secrets about Philip, this is a slightly above average twist. (I wonder if she'll leverage their shared secret to get the info from Sarah?)

Also, Belle had a good argument, that CPS would probably place Rachel with Brady, given that he's the one seeking treatment for her.  Of course, soaps treat CPS like the Boogeyman, so the social workers would probably just do the most evil thing possible and throw Rachel into a children's labor camp.  But, IRL, it was a good point.

I like the chemistry between Philip and Joy.  How long is JPL's contract?  I assumed it would be a short-term return, but he seems to be hanging around.

    • I was cracking up at how Silk Press tried to hump Not Ted's leg as soon as Kat walked in, but her cackling at the end is getting OTT.
    • I think Doug needs to get his own sidepiece, but not Dani. Dani is only tolerable with Andre (and her daughter Chelsea), so let's keep her there. How about Shanice? She seems like she really cares about him as a person.
    • Does anyone know the air date on the very first time Stephanie referred to Brooke as "The Slut from the valley"?
    • Does anyone know the air date of the very first John & Stefano scene? As well as the air date on the very last time they had a scene?
    • They interacted before when Dani and Pamela were at the casino.
    • The last few episodes have been good; the acting, the emotions. It's nice to see that GH can still do classic soap opera. I do wish that they would respect their long term audience more and do it without all the silly rewrites though. And where do they go from here? I'm a bit pessimistic and fully expect the show to go back to the drama-less, boring mess it usually is. I'm giving it a month, tops.

    • Yes. They were very much out of ideas for Reva by this time. A talk show, blindness...the time travel story... That would have made sense.  (were they acknowledging the Beth/Bill relationship by this point)

    • I can see why the Sam/Amanda story went downhill so fast. Thomas Gibson was a terrible replacement. I don't remember the circumstances of RKK quitting  (if his contract was over or if the departure was more acrimonious), but Gibson just sucks the energy out of every scene. He has no chemistry with anyone.
