Members Contessa Donatella
Well, I must say the tears in the eyes lately at least with both Carly & Jason have been very well received by me. Anna, however, has exceeded her lifetime quota. Finola is done & then some. Totally agree about Willow & her reaching what I call an introductory level of self-awareness. I was shocked! I did not realize these writers could shock me. They get credit for that. As for the actress's abilities, I have a feeling she is up to a great deal more than they give her. Just a guess. The thing about Cameron Mathison is that prior pretty much everyone disliked him but tolerated him. NOW, of course, he is about 400% more interesting but still it's a love to hate thing. I'm not at all sure about his shelf life? Do we imagine that if we turned him over & looked at the back of his neck, there's a "SELL BY date?" I think so.
Members Liberty City
For me, Chad Duell's exit as Michael kind of buzz-killed the storyline for me. Please register in order to view this content
Members Vee
Chad is boring on a good day, it's when he's still entertaining that's rare. They can recast Michael any time, I'm not interested in FV's loyalty oath. In the meantime there is plenty of dirt for full bitch Willow or Drew to get up to.
Members Contessa Donatella
Yesterday it made me mad that Tracy seemed to think that if not for her, meaning Carly, that AJ somehow would have been this upstanding citizen or some idiocy like that. AJ, in his essence was NOT in any way the fault of Carly. Let that sink in for a minute.

Members titan1978
I feel the opposite. Because if he was not incapacitated we would not have gotten Drew manipulating the issue. Michael being injured gave us Nina trying to play mediator and being upset that Willow gave all the credit to Drew. Carly and Sonny vs Willow, Drew, and Tracy. And Jason making decisions based on more than just what Carly wants, including leaning into the Q family. The swing back to Alexis wanting to protect Sam’s child against Drew. And Willow being willing to stand against Carly and Sonny. And this is all before we get to pregnant Sasha. Everybody confronting Willow or Drew has been very entertaining to me. This is the kind of messy, complicated stuff we should have been seeing for months. It could be written with more complexity, but this is truly IMO the best material this team is capable of. Much like what happened with Nina and Mulcahey too- I don’t even like the characters at the center of this, Willow or Drew, all that much. But this is good soap.
Members Liberty City
The manipulation could have come from Nina's side, though, as from her POV, it would have been her encouraging Willow to take a stand against Carly/Sonny, etc. That's the sense I got in those scenes with Martin/Nina; instead, it went to Willow's lover. I've just found myself suffering through episodes daily. It's a dread.
Members Contessa Donatella
In fact, I totally agree. At first when I saw where it seemed they were going, I admit I was not enthused. I figured in trying to quickly fashion an exit for Chad that they were about to create a gigantic problem. BUT NO! Actually, they've crafted an excellent batch of soapy messy goodness. I mean who knew they had this in them?
Members BetterForgotten
Tracy always knew AJ was troubled, but what she likely meant was Carly did cost him his sobriety when she was trying to conceal Michael’s paternity, and then proceeded to cut off any relationship he could have with his son, but then also proceeded to also have said son in constant danger because she somehow thought the protection of being with a mob boss was safer for him. Not to mention, he was directly responsible for AJ’s final death. Tracy and AJ shared a great scene 6:04 in during Tracy’s 1993 exit where she warned him (in a gentle/loving way) to stay sober and keep his life together, and that he was the future of the family. Members Liberty City
Again, so much potential for AJ that was wasted.
Members Contessa Donatella
Well, I persist in thinking that AJ would have had a world of trouble even if he had not met Carly, but the things you say are fair. And, I would note that this clip is stopped on Lila's face & Lila always was good to Carly. Now, I'm off to YouTube.
Members Vee
Carly contributed greatly to ruining A.J.'s life, and in the end she covered up his murder. Michael should never have let Sonny back into his life after that, and should have a much more difficult relationship with his mother at least. And I agree with @titan1978. This story with Willow, Drew and the fallout in the family is literally the only worthwhile thing on the show. Take it away and I can barely watch for the talented actors. Nor would I for long. I'm enjoying the show when it's focused on this story, it's most of the rest I suffer through or tolerate. That would just vilify Nina further. I had enough of that 2-3 years ago. At least for once she's now being portrayed as a voice of reason. Drew and Willow create drama. Edited January 17 by Vee
Members Liberty City
This I agree with. Michael Quartermaine was so much more the man that Michael Corinthos wishes he could have been. God, even writing Michael Quartermaine felt amazing. Meh.. I'd just love to see Cynthia Watros put her fangs on [finally] and I'm just... not feeling Cameron Mathison as Drew. But that's what makes soaps amazing: what [some] enjoy, others don't. Please register in order to view this content I guess I also don't see what makes Willow a woman someone would... want. Chase, Drew, Michael... they all wanted Willow, and I don't understand why.
Members Khan
I'd put up with the one-dimensional writing and bland production aesthetic (not to mention, the Teen Scene From Hell) just to watch Jane Elliot and Laura Wright spar on the regular. God, I love JE. I've said it before, and I'll say it again: give her your worst and she'll still knock it out of the damn park.
Members Taoboi
Awwww Good to hear. True on that. Just when it seems like they are writing a character into a corner, they swipe left. Same. It's looking that way.
