I think it helped that most of their reunion wasn’t just an exposition dump about the last four years. Both Lucky and Laura were mired with a lot of that.

To this day it annoys me that Carly and her children are having emotional moments at Robin and Stone’s bridge. Jason really burned that spot.

I would be genuinely shocked if they killed Felicia. I don’t see it happening. I hope she puts the pieces together and helps solve things like the old days. They already offed a long term vet with Sam.

I wonder if someone was trying to drop a hint with that line...

Ric is slimy, yes, but Rick Hearst is so charming, and the canvas is so amoral that I am not sure newer viewers are going to root against him as much as some with memories of the panic room era might.

Oh, I believe the reason behind the hiring. Just look at the writing, even the way to go (aka a relationship with Trina could have written itself with no retcon baby) has not saved him.

I just don't want him dead.

Unlike other Friends of Frank's...

I agree with this. They really do favor each other. And that idea re: violin reminds me of when they recast Victoria on Y&R with Ameila Heinle and explained while she was away, she learned to love artwork.

A shame he was lost in the shuffle in hindsight.

They would need to be actively trying to lose viewers to kill Felicia at this point. I don't see that happening. Maybe Old Man Cyrus makes an attempt though.

Gio is pretty useless at present and I absolutely hate the BLQ/Dante love child angle, so I understand the instinct to cut him along with about 15-20 other people. But I do like him and I think he has potential as is, so I would sooner try doing new things with this newcomer than keep T.J. at this point, who like Molly is a deeply spent background character (who in T.J.'s case has minimal personality) and who has been around too long; they need to leave for a long break and Molly can come back in several years. Would I blink if Gio got cut too though? Nope.

I think all the Lulu stuff with both her family and Tracy was very good. I think JJ and Alexa did especially well together considering their first scenes were almost nonstop exhausting exposition. But Jane just always has a way of getting you in the throat.

I loved JJ and the writers trolling the audience back with the line about Lucky needing a shower

perfect line delivery. Those Lucky/Liz/Ric scenes were fantastic, I like Liz getting all of this attention from her exes trying to play hero and JJ and Rick H have solid adversarial chemistry.

Lulu vs Brook Lynn was certain characters should never like each other no matter what and these two fit the bill for me. I gotta give this round to Brook Lynn since Lulu did come off a bit stuck in the past and Brook Lynn’s surprise attack by bringing up her current friendship with Maxie was hilarious.

We got some more anvils about Gio’s paternity and Cody and Lulu scenes which I really liked, Dante seemed jealous already.

I also didn’t know that room in the Q mansion still existed as a set. I like it better than the tacky grey room sets they always use so I hope they showcase this one more often.

I swear they refurbish the same script for Tracy every two weeks, how many times are she and Sasha gonna do this same dance? That said I did feel for Sasha mourning her old boyfriend and baby with Sonny even though I didn’t even see any of that story. The scene with Tracy at the end was nice and Sidwell popping up was funny but why the hell is he even still around?

I have no use for Laura and her brothers. Martin suggesting they use Cyrus to help find Charlotte just sounded dumb to me and MEK’s antics get old after a couple of episodes.

Speaking of tired oh look Anna’s crying again I actually did like her scenes with Jason and Sonny but they need to tell Finola Hughes to chill out on the water works at this point, the emotion is too much sometimes.

Jason and Spinelli taking over the search for Valentin and Charlotte makes sense and I like Spinelli’s motivation. Hopefully we get some scenes with him and Lulu soon.

    • Same here.  Anyone who voluntarily left Margo's penthouse set (except to go overseas or to Heaven) was immediately on my blacklist.  lol.

    • The penthouse was my favorite set... and it changed hands from Margo to Draper/April to Miles/Nicole then to just Miles... before he opted to give that beautiful place for that drab house with the even more drab Beth.  That was a jump the shark moment for me LOL
    • The storyline April and Draper are involved in during the summer/autumn of 1979 seems fairly "benign" but soon turns very serious.  April has a VERY intrusive, wealthy mother (Margo Huntington Dorn).  Margo knows that April and Draper (who've recently had a miscarriage and are theoretically never going to be able to conceive another baby) want to buy a house.  Margo hoodwinks them into buying a house they can't afford.  The house is listed at $100,000 (about $400,000 in today's dollars).  Margo pays the first $35,000 and leads Draper to believe the asking price of the house is $65,000 instead of $100,000.  If Draper finds out his meddling mother-in-law paid 1/3 of the cost of the home and tricked him, he'll be mad as hell.   Meanwhile, Draper has received a job offer from a prestigious New York law firm.  Margo pulls some strings and has the senior partner in the firm rescind the offer, to keep April in Monticello.  If Draper finds out about THAT, he'll be even angrier with Margo than he will be about the house trickery.  All of that is "bubbling under the surface" in the fall of 1979 but will be the next major story, as everything begins to spiral out of control.   Yep, you've got the Karrs and their very basic middle-class house, the Victorian-themed place where Miles and Nicole live, April and Draper's old craftsman house with the exposed beams, the Madisons & their Mission revival house, and Margo with her 1970s-chic penthouse.  Each of the sets is completely different.  And their budget was like zero, lol.
    • It felt weird and out of place.  I get. While I agree with those on here that he's gotten better, it's still really bad. I'm not seeing the "good" acting some see...but I'll give him a B for being better than when he first started. There's potential. I'll leave it at that.
    • It's like watching paint dry at a slow-ass pace. It's bad acting. Entirely. Excellent? With Claybon? Never. Ever.

    • Ah! Good to hear. Isn't it especially odd to think that house fictionally exists not far from the Karrs?  Or, that it was designed non-fictionally by the same person who designed April's place?
    • Good to know I'm not the only one who noticed that. Strange and awkward, and I don't know what they're doing with those fades.   -- Finally, had to laugh at how many Emmys this board passed out today.
