Members Forever8
Edward Scott is returning to the show as Senior Producer. I'm hoping he's actually successful and is able to keep Josh Griffith checked there too. https://deadline.com/2024/10/ed-scott-returns-the-young-and-the-restless-brings-cbs-1236111523/
Members Liberty City
Thread title should be changed to match the set-up but, this, to me, is a good sign of things to come! @Errol
Members Soapsuds
Just change it to Y&R: Longtime producer returns

Members wingwalker
Hopefully this means Josh Griffith is on the way out soon. Y&R needs a major overhaul.
Members Taoboi
You know me well!!!!! Cuz my reaction was AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!! LOL. Members Liberty City
We can hope, but I doubt [some] of it. I'm doubtful of his exit; so many roles and positions would need to be replaced with his exit, and with Steve Kent still in power-position, I don't see him allowing his buddy to be out.
Members detroitpiston
Great news. I’ve been watching the last few weeks and the show desperately needs someone like Ed overseeing things. I hope this is really just a first step in getting JG outta here…

Members MichaelGL
YES!!! One of my favorite EP's is returning to his former stomping grounds! Lawd let this be the beginning of him wrestling control of this show from Josh's incompetent hands.
Members Chris B
He worked wonders at Days and B&B when he moved over and of course his Y&R was excellent until he left. If they let him, he can get the show back in order and fix the writing situation. IF they let him. That will involve letting Josh Griffith go though, so until I see that announcement, I'm not excited.
Members BetterForgotten
The production values are going to improve, and I can see him producing aesthetically pleasing episodes with great directors like Owen Renfroe and Sally McDonald (obviously he worked with her before). But story-wise? Griffith needs to go and things won’t get better creatively until he and Kent are gone. Also, this should be in the main forum. It’s not a show spoiler. @Errol @Toups But maybe this is an indication that Griffith may be on his way out soon? Perhaps CBS gave Sony a mandate to improve things with the upcoming launch of Beyond The Gates. There has to be more to the story here.
Members MichaelGL
Looking back how long has it been since Griffith announced he was going to both Produce and write the show? Trying to see if this is a clear sign that CBS is finally losing faith in JG after giving him a period of time to prove himself.
Members Khan
I definitely agree about the amazing things Ed Scott was able to accomplish at DAYS. Granted, the writing still sucked; but for the first time since the end of Al Rabin's second tenure, DAYS had a showrunner who knew how to make every dollar count on screen.
