Yeah, to me they are building up in 2 ways: the Spencer family, led by Carly, and the hospital presence, more doctors. I think both of these things could be interesting especially if it means they are diminishing the mob presence. BITD people like Frank Smith were mobsters but as bad guys, not upstanding members of the community. Of course, as noted, we also now have more lawyers,

Well, it sure will be nice to see Van on my TV again

Lucas is too important of a character to not be on the canvas. I’ll miss Ryan Carnes but this recast is necessary. I’m already looking forward to seeing his storyline play out. I wonder if we’ll get a Brucas reunion

Shouldn't Lucas be in his 40s?

I imagine it will be short term, not because they have a short-term story planned, but because they likely have no plans for him, and this feels like tokenism to try to stave off backlash over over purging the show of most content that isn't completely straight. Even Hansis' statement claiming that he's glad to be joining a show where he isn't the only gay character reads as such, given that the show's queer presence amounts to a single Kristina and a rarely seen Brad.

Based on the half-assed Lucky return and the choices to continue to write around Laura as often as possible, this Spencer buildup seems to be lip service. I have no real idea what purpose Lucas would have in a Spencer family today. Bobbie is gone. He had few ties with the rest of the family. Is he going to tell us how wonderful Carly is?

Given how most of Lucas' close relatives are gone or going I have no idea why he is returning, beyond the show getting to tweet about how inclusive they are before he disappears in six months.

Van was never very good on ATWT (he tended to be very overwrought, which worked for a while given what a ham Martha Byrne was and that the character was meant to be going through a crisis), although he was OK at the end when challenged more. I haven't kept up with him since. He's not going to have an actual part on here so I guess I will say congratulations to him for getting paid for a while. After ATWT was gutted in part due to dumping so many ABC actors on it I am at least smiling as an ATWT actor makes his way to GH for a brief time.

(hopefully he will have better luck than Byrne did)

    • Today was a short one. Only 33 minutes.  The ‘Part One’ graphic at the beginning was pretty interesting though. I didn’t expect them to do something like that.  I like how everything was focused around John and his family and friends. Again, the acting and the dialogue was very well done and well written. And I love that they were able to incorporate Drake’s, “swing for the fences” phrase into the script. It was nice seeing everyone interact with each other, especially characters who don’t often share scenes together. It felt like every character was part of a big family or community. Plus, an outdoor funeral in June makes a lot more sense than an outdoor funeral in December.  But yeah, it’s very, very strange that Will isn’t at the funeral, especially since we know that

I would much rather he had been there today. And, where’s Anna too? And Jack and Jennifer? What was the point of bringing them all back if they weren’t going to attend the funeral? I expected Steve to want to close down BlackPatch, though I’d rather he just retire and let Paul take it over. But I like that Kayla was there to comfort him. I wonder if he’s going to change his mind at some point.  It was nice seeing Shane again too. Now, he just needs to have more scenes with his son lol but I enjoyed seeing him comfort Marlena. I’m not really sure about his interaction with Cat though? Was it really necessary for this to happen now, at John’s funeral? They could’ve waited a little longer to introduce this story arc.  Btw, was Tate bleeding from his head in his first scene with Arianna?

    • Now this strikes me as funny. I have it up on my acct. The thing is I only have S2. Didn't want either 1 or 3.  Perhaps I should just list all of these that I have up.  Parodies: Dirty Sexy Money, Filthy Rich Incomplete: The Monroes, All That Glitters, Falcon Crest (have all just not all up), Once & Again S2 only Complete: Models Inc, Pasadena, Pacific Palisades, Paper Dolls, Flamingo Road
    • This is wonderful! Thank you for posting this! I loved the first two seasons and never got to see the final season when they cancelled the DVD release. I've been hoping this popped up on streaming but no luck. Happy I'll finally get to see how it ended!

Morgan Fairchild, Barbara Rush. Developed by Rita Lakin.
    • Arguably DAYS OF OUR LIVES has been brilliant lately & definitely was last week. But, here I am with nitpick & technicalities. This was the only misstep but it was just a stupid thing that should have been caught. Deidre Hall as Marlena has this one problematic line, "It didn't matter how many identities you had, I always knew exactly who you were, you were the man who saved my life." - Marlena, DAYS, 6-2-25 Unfortunately the flashback closest to it was when Marlena was on the phone, terrified because she thought he was Stefano. Yes, it's true that the line is not accurate. There were many times when she did not feel the way she is claiming because of whatever was going on in story with his 'retconned to hell & back' identity & origin story. Does it keep the whole week from being called excellent? Nope.
    • The Vault has been down all night.

Newsom is a craven opportunist, but his comments today were exactly how better people need to handle Trump.
