Not really. What happened was that she was always "Abby" as a child and during her time as a teen in the mid-00s, but when they cast Kate Mansi in 2011, they rebranded her as "Abigail" because we already had Gabi in the teen set. That loosened up over the years and really tailed off once Gabi went to prison in 2014, and after that, they just used Abigail/Abby pretty interchangeably.

I think it's pretty normal in real life, tbh.   Some people call me by my real name and some people call me by a nickname or just interchange it like you said.  I'll answer to both.  I just feel like it's more serious when someone calls me Caroline lol.

Oh, totally. I just remember that when they cast Mansi, they made a big point of announcing her as playing ABIGAIL and everyone was calling her ABIGAIL very pointedly for a while, and they'd all called her Abby 95% of the time a few years prior.

I can sort of see Abigail considered an "adult" name.  Abby is fine, but it sounds more childish.  I just never lost my child nickname lol, so I can understand.

Was there a “thing” about who called her Abby, and who used Abigail?

I recall EJ saying Abigail, but Chad goes back and forth.

EJ was much like his father and Celeste and called everyone by their proper name.

yes James Scott's EJ called every person by their proper name, except that he called Nicole "Nikki".

Welcome back, Eric! We’ve missed you.

I really like the way the Sarah’s accident storyline was plotted out today. We got the perspective of basically every character that’s involved in it and I like that. Everyone had a voice today and I hope Days continues to do that in future episodes.

I also like how Brady’s troubles ended up being the thing that prompted Eric to come back to Salem and confess the truth about Daniel’s death to Holly. As much as I wish Nicole was here for it, I love that they’re doing this storyline. And I love when one umbrella storyline drive other storylines that are underneath it. This is what the baby switch should have been. Maybe Days could have gone a little slower with this and let the cliffhangers from today be the Friday cliffhangers tomorrow but overall, I didn’t really mind the pacing today.

And I’m so glad that Tate and Holly are finally out of that bubble that they were in and are finally having some good conflict. His scenes with Brady were really great. The conversation that they had was definitely needed for them and for their relationship. I just think Tate needed to have that conversation with his mother as well. And I’m still really liking the relationship that’s being built up between Maggie, Sarah and Holly.

And hopefully, their argument today is the first of many, especially now that the truth is, unintentionally, out.

Looking forward to tomorrow!

Does anyone know GV's status with Days?  I thought he was gone with AZ.

Errol hinted that he’ll be back again and then gone for good.

Thanks.  I am horrible keeping up with Days comings and goings.

I hope all parties can eventually work things out.  Eric/Nicole leave a big hole in the canvas.

Is Tate tone death. Yes Brady is innocent but no one knows this and just to say he's an addict. Like  Brady should get a free pass. Also why would Tate assume Holly knew a drunk Eric killed her dad?

A basic internet search on her own dad would answer any questions about how Daniel died and who did it. The sainted priest even did prison time for it.

She could've easily researched this back as a pre-teen just out of morbid curiosity. But it's a soap :)

I also think if Nicole was intending on keeping it a secret from Holly she and/or Eric should have notified Eric's immediate family members.  It's strange that a nearly adult Holly never asked or looked it up though.

Justice in Salem is once again very unpredictable.

Gabi was in prison awaiting trial for Li's murder (I don't recall that she was ever indicted).  But, Brady is still wearing his own clothes and visiting Tate in the police station interrogation room for a self-confessed DUI resulting in injury.  Maybe they only have a woman's prison for citizens like Gabi, Kristen, and Theresa?  I assume the prison where Lucas was held is still being repaired from when Steven and John broke Clyde out over the summer.

How much do you want to bet if they ever SORAS Jude, that kid's not going to know a word of French?  I mean weren't Chanel and Tate educated in European boarding schools? But they don't seem to speak any foreign languages (or even appear very well-cultured).  And while I can imagine Nicole using google-translate, Eric seems like the proverbial old dog who couldn't learn new lingo.

I'm actually going to give Holly a pass for not Googling her father's death.  It is not as if anyone has mentioned him (including his mother, Maggie), in the past few years.  There's no Daniel Memorial Med Center, and I don't recall if he's in the Kiriakis Tomb.  Also, she was in a coma for a few months.  But, was it established how Tate knows? Considering his upbringing was mostly out of town, with people who had no connection to Daniel at all.

Also, were we meant to be surprised when Mark and Fake-Abby called each other “bro” and “sis”, or was I just spoiled about their relationship?  And if Leo is so desperate for some man-on-man action, why doesn't he call that guy who was so eager to bed him a few weeks ago?

I think Chanel went to school in England hence the whole debacle with Sloan's English brother and father.  She seemed more cultured and spoiled when she first appeared.

As far as Tate, did they specify it was a European boarding school?  With his love of lacrosse I just assumed it was somewhere on the East Coast.

While British boarding schools require multiple foreign language study, I can see your point on the lacrosse element with Tate.

BTW, I wonder how many universities have lacrosse scholarships like Aaron seemed to be planning on using?

In general, I want to know more about the Greene's finances.  How did Mark afford med school?  Do they need extra care for Felicity?  Do they own their family home?  It would go a long way to explain how they financed this fake Abby plan?  At the very least, I'd like to know where and when fake Abby acquired her fabulous wardrobe of knit dresses and lounge wear.  Like, where do they fall in the range from Party of Five to Vanderbilt heir?
