As do I. And for me the most poetic choice would be that, unlike in 2012 where it was Monica who knew and had been protecting him for years, we discover it is a resentful Michael, who found out from his grandmother that A.J. was once again clinging to life and has been shepherding him ever since, torn between two fathers. At the worst possible time for Sonny, preferably.

Michael, you little bitch.

No wonder why Willow wants to cheat

I really hope that Michael lying and helping cover up Jagger’s death ends up being the thing that finally pushes Willow into Drew’s arms. It literally is the perfect catalyst.

But I also have to admit that Drew did seem a little creepy today. Maybe this all really is an elaborate scheme for him to get back at Nina.

Someone said that Cameron has just signed a new 3 year deal with GH. Frank just keeps making decisions that make me ... want to vomit. I thought sure they would cut him loose. It's so clear & has been for so long that he is woefully miscast. Cameron Mathison, the actor who plays Drewfus. Actually, of course, he is playing Ryan Lavery. Or maybe he's just playing himself & when he was at AMC, it was the same situation. To anyone who has seen him in one of these movies, is there any discernible difference to those characters?

I was expecting her to take it out at the gravesite but obviously not complete the act... Britney Spears' paternal grandmother died that way, at her baby's grave.

I caught that when Kristina was talking about "Adela" that Alexis sort of cringed and said "the baby"... poor woman is never going to be able to refer to her granddaughter by name at the risk of offending one daughter or the other.

Now, I, too, thought she was having a suicidal impulse, but this alternate theory is maybe much more interesting. Krazy Kuckoo Kristina in Krazy Person Lock-up is much soapier than dead dame.

But, not seeing Sonny use Carly one more time, come on, you really didn't see that coming?!! Michael went into "Save This Sonny Situation" so fast I could hardly credit it. Only moments  had passed. "Mom's at the house. She can alibi you." Meanwhile he was in perpetual motion, doing cover-up things.

I won’t be so churlish as to deny that the show is more exciting, the action has accelerated and the drama has ramped up in the last few weeks, with the return of well-placed cliffhangers, but damn, I don’t like this writing at all.

Both in terms of putting the chess pieces back exactly where they were before, and a lot of the character depth being stripped away.

It’s clear to me (and probably everyone here) that Kristina will be in the frame for Cates’ murder, presenting Sonny, Michael and Carly with a ‘dilemma’ and seeking ways to ‘save’ her while shielding Sonny from justice- again.

Agreed on all of the above. And in the end they will absolutely pit Wagger's murder on someone else. That's their only option unless they really want to redo the cold-blooded murder of A.J. which, who knows.

I've seen this story so many times on the show - there's always some bullshît escape hatch which exonerates the mob either figuratively or literally, proves Sonny right, etc. This goes back to the Guza II years, where even Dante's childhood idol from his backstory, a beat cop in his neighborhood in Brooklyn, turned out to be corrupt or something to make Sonny look good lol. Somehow there will be some nonsense to get Sonny off.

    • Yeah, and quite honestly, are there really that many scenes that are flashback-worthy at this point in the run?
    • I know at one point they were on Hulu & i-Tunes. I just checked it on JustWatch.com & it indicates 1 season on Prime Video & on AppleTV. Have fun!
    • That era is so weird...they made a big deal out of all three of those characters and then they just..disappeared! Not that I am complaining. We talk about the bad out of character writing for Alex under JFP..but this was one example that may have led them to write her being so obsessive with Nick.  WHY would Alex accept Flock of Seagulls guy as her brother? They had her in one scene (setting up the Alan return) complain that Alan abandoned her...she blackmailed him into leaving town and she had been angry at him for helping Brandon with Lujack and also using Spaulding for that dumb dreaming death thing. Endless scenes of her with Simon, I can't believe Bev wasn't bored to death! I would also add Pam writing the scene where she lets Ms. Sally die in front of her to protect Alan and  the writing for Alex could be screwy even before JFP.
    • On this day 34 years ago the final episode of Dallas and came in at an astonishing #2 in the ratings after two straight seasons of weak ratings. Interesting Knots was #27 for that week as well:

    • Thank you for clearing that up. I wasn't watching GL regularly yet at that point, but seems to me I should have remembered the big wedding after Leslie's death (which I do remember) described in the profile. Is there a web archive of SOD summaries, or are referring to your own personal collection?
    • I was bummed that 2.0 ended because Mcpherson (headwriter) had really set up some interesting stories and we never got to find out where the stories would go once they resumed production on 'season 2'. I remembered the EP (Ginger Smith) and a lot of the stars gave a lot of credit to McPherson being able to come in on very short notice and come up with stories/plots (I think it was a very short turnaround time of a few weeks).  It was nice that she got to redeem herself after her year long Days stint was not well reviewed/liked.

    • It seems like a setup for failure to review a single episode of a soap, but Cleveland Amory was a foolish man.  His taste was so predictable, that one wondered why bother reviewing a medium he so clearly disliked. (found on Facebook retro TV group) Another case in point of his misogyny from his review of Dark Shadows (Can you imagine the magazine with the widest circulation in the country insulting its customer in this way today?)

    • They could easily be re-created, or even re-shot in different ways, especially if they were re-shooting scenes at some point, as well.
    • The Ted recast really is a shame because now they won't be able to do flashbacks to the best scenes the show has done to date.
