I gotta co-sign what @carolineg said.

He did have a lot of good ideas, but the biggest problem was the execution was often terrible. In some cases, the worst execution of an idea that I’ve ever seen on a soap.

His lack of objectivity, his obsession with certain characters and his disregard for others, his biphobia, his misogyny and his determination to write everything like a big joke pretty didn’t help either. Days has pretty much become a cruel, toxic, mean spirited mess and that’s on him. And yes, he does owe a lot of people at Days an apology; Kassie DePaiva being #1 on the list.

He definitely needs to cut all that toxicity out. That’s pretty much the only way he could make it if he ends up writing for another soap.

I may have no faith in him as a human being, but I still have some faith in him as a writer lol

Oh God, I hope so.

Well said, I’ll co-sign to all of this.

“Jordan is surprised to receive Nikki as a visitor in jail. When Jordan lashes back at Nikki for admonishing her, Nikki calls  Jordan “my dear sister” and rips off a mask to reveal the real alive and well Eve Howard (now played by Morgan Fairchild) underneath! Eve puts back on the Nikki mask and cackles her to plan to Jordan to take over Nikki’s life and get her son and granddaughter back.

Well, several actors were behind his firing.

Tony Geary would not say his name. Instead he referred to him as "the writer".

For GH's Big 60 anniversary, Ron made a post where it was clear GH is the show he is passionate about, also that he's never quite gotten over being fired from there. I'm sure someone will find that post.

Curious at what actors it was lol

I doubt RC would end up back at GH just because it seems like there was some bad blood with his departure.

I don't know if I would actually mind him on GH again.  At least things would happen lol.  I still think RC has some good ideas but he is horrible with execution.  He certainly has an expiration date which he hit about 4 years ago on Days.  I honestly think he's okay in brief stretches.

I actually know 2 people who say they like him, really. TWO.

A lot of people have suggested that Mo was the one who led the charge against him.

Episodes written by Carlivati will air through April of 2025 due to the show’s unique tape-to-air schedule

LMAOO! Oh, Days.

I loved the Brash & Cwikly era. They weren’t perfect, but it was entertaining and had a lot of heart. Whatever budget cuts Corday muttered on about at the time, it wasn’t worth the show giving way to a catastrophic Higley 1.0 tenure that lead to us to JER’s return. What a mess.

Sheraton Kalouria, who was NBC Daytime President at the time had a heavy hand in some of Days creative decisions in the early 00’s (he wanted Days to be like Passions) was somewhat responsible for that if I recall right.

@DRW50 I also just spite out my Celsius drink laughing and hollering when I saw your Dante’s Cove remark 🙈😂

Thanks. I guess he got his wish with DAYS becoming just like Passions - that worked out so well.

(the contortions made for that show just because it was popular with a young demo is a great example of what helped nearly kill off the genre).

I am probably not being fair to Dante's Cove, as at its peak it had better writing than anything he's done since about 2009.

I can't remember who mentioned it above but now I DO wonder if all this Body & Soul stuff was meant to be some kind of window into his exit.

Since DAYS has been on Peacock, I have only had the streaming service for a couple of months early this year. (I wanted a NFL game and knew Traitors2 was coming up. Cancelled after Traitors2). Even then, I never bothered to watch more than a couple of episodes here-and-there. Nothing made me want to watch. It wasn't DAYS to me anymore.

With that said...

I wish this change would shut down production for a few months to let the new writing team completely restructure the show. Take the time to really outline the next year, storyline project into the future, etc.. Do it right and not this fly by the pants whims that seem to have been done in recent years. Work BTS to see what actors, if any, would be wiling to come aboard again. The less time between "taking over" and the new vision the better. If I were still watching, I personally wouldn't care if characters (like the aforementioned Leo) disappeared and we were told about what happened to them offscreen. With a fresh patch of new characters appearing/old characters returning at once. Why waste the time transitioning? lol

In real life? Or his writing?   Ron has had some good stories throughout the years.  He relies on the same old same old hacks like DID, but I enjoyed some of his early GH work and his early Days work.  I particularly liked the John/Marlena wedding where Marlena was shot.

I heard Mo wasn't a fan as well.

Maurice was one. Daytime Confidential in their prime (when Jamey was still there) was in Ron's pocket and very close to him, and spent most of that period subtweeting about shady actors betraying him not long before/after he was fired. The impression I got is the group may have included NLG, Stafford and others. Either way a lot of actors were (rightly) unhappy, the show was a debacle in 2015 especially and Ron was fired.

I will never get over the DC meltdown in that period where Jamey went on a totally unhinged high-volume rant comparing Ron in-depth to Gloria Monty in 1991 with actors turning on her. He never seemed to grasp that in both cases the casts had good reason. (He also briefly admitted while speaking too quickly that he'd 'lied' that Ron's recent stories were good to be supportive, then walked it back)

My wildcard guess is that Steve Kent puts Ron in charge of Y&R. But I guess it's possible he quit to go back to GH.  I doubt it unless Varni is gone

Ron isn't going to GH. They have a different plan in place.

I'm afraid I won't be shocked if Varni asks him back given the current circumstances. I wonder if he and Frank can bury the hatchet, assuming they haven't already.

Ron might be able to juice GH for a few months, but I don't want him back there long-term. At the very least not without a strong co-HW, which he has never had and I don't think ever will.

Jeez, Jamey’s more pathetic than I thought lol

I’m hoping now more than ever that he follows Ron out the door.
