Anyone have the Corday quote from the end of 2005 where he says that he has a ace up his sleeve and it will shock everyone in the industry???

Damn, I love the excitement in this thread. It's good to be a DAYS fan right now. I LOVE IT!!! :)

You know something? I still don't think this it.

The ace? Joe Mascola. Bottom line, end of story.

JER didn't write for the show when they were there, and there's only so much you can get from text recaps. Corday has to get him some old tapes or something.

JER did write for P/K. He wrote breakdowns for DAYS in 89.

So how many threads was the "Hoax Thread" in 2004??? Will this beat it?? :)

9 pages already. Insanity. Days threads with big news always go over the edge.

I have never watched Patch and Kayla, I was a GH fan when he played Stefan and I'm excited!

I think with the combination of people who loved them and the people who LOVED Stephen as Stefan Cassadine will tune in for this. I know I will and I am a casual Days watcher. I'm interested and excited (who knows why).

Between this...and Anna & Robert on GH, I'm in heaven.

This issue of SOD is definitely going to fly off the shelves  .

I see massive Days covers this summer-even more then usual.

I am not worried about the stories for one reason-SN and MBE. They would never signed on to play out a story that sucked, especially since they were critical of JER's writing. Corday and JER came up with something and pitched it. Perhaps SN and MBE added some imput and that was that. There is no way they would sign a multi-year deal and play out something bad. It wouldn't make sense and they are not desperate actors in need of any job they can get. I am sure they had offers so Days must have a great story in mind because they have been away for a long time and wouldn't just pick now to come back if it weren't a great story and something special.

Holy Crap..best days news ever..I'm in utter shock, fans have been wanting this for years...And its finally happening..This is the ace in his sleeves that corday was talking about..

Patch and Kayla back on my screen is just a dream come true..Their wedding is my alltime favorite episode...

I think JER will write something similar to Masion Blanche.

Everyone will be at the same location which just so happens to be where Patch is.

But who will be the villain? Who will be responsible for holding Patch all these years? Will Lawrence come back (Sabitino will be on a Reilly show, so you never know)??

can't wait to hear how this story begins.

True, I wasnt sure exactly but I knew for a fact DAYS did in 2002. I loved it too, hopefully DAYS can get back up near B&B, a soap in which i find the worst out of all 9 soaps, well that and AMC.

True, in fact just write out the Lockharts, even Mimi.

I have to disagree. Let's not forget that whole "16 years removed" argument. You have to know that Bonnie is a pretty popular character with today's viewers. Those who like her love her for her over-the-top, vulgar, rudeness, town-slut-with-a-heart routine. I wouldn't trade that for anything. Granted, for your sakes (those who knew her as Adrienne), I'd hope for a dual role but an emphatic "no" to offing Bonnie.

JEL should be the next Eileen. She can play multiple characters on screen. I would go for that. That's cool. Let her play Bonnie and Adrienne. In fact, that'll be kind of fun and just add to the whole 'let's relive the '90s' shtick they had going on--one actress playing different roles, simultaneously. OMG, I LOVE that idea!! Go, JEL, you rock, girlfriend!!!

Here is the article......

At long last, two of Days most popular actors ever,

[MBE and SN] are heading back to Salem.

"I have waited as long, if not longer, than the viewers

for this historic return-two of our most beloved

characters" smiles executive producer Ken Corday

(this is me, SLK, responding: ...puhleese! As IF.)

"They will return sometime in May or early June but the rest of their story has

to remain a mystery until their arrival"

Nichols was last seen in October 1990, when his character

Steve Johnson -Jacks brother/Bo's pal who was also known as

Patch died in the hospital.

After teh funeral, his coffin was switched with another

which left the door open for a return.

As for Evans, she was last seen as Kayla the cherished daughter of Shawn and

Caroline, in 1992 when she left Salem with daughter Stephanie.

(paraphrasing a little in this paragraph)

The actors were reunited again on GH as Stefan and Katherine

(the article lists the years they are on). Evans also played Sierra on ATWT on

and off since 2000.

The actors have never been shy about expressing their fondness for Salem and

their desire to return to the soap.

They both appeared at the show's 40th anniversary party

last November.

In a 2000 interview with Digest Nichols said,

"The fans should know that both Mary Beth and I

are willing to explore the possibility of a return"

Evans added that the show had asked her back

but she declined, "It was for something with Bo

and Hope and the baby. But I don't want to do that.

I feel like we should come back and do something

fun, and if there's such a thing, meaningful.

But you never know, it might happen"

"That time has finally come" enthuses Corday.

"I have been in close contact with both over

the past few years and we always knew that

their return was not a matter of "if", but

"when"

I never saw JEL as Adrienne, except for one show that SoapNet aired in November. I love JEL as an actress, so I would be happy with her as Bonnie or Adrienne, but I dont want her playing both. I just see more potential in Adrienne.

So most likely the SL is going to be great, since both signed on! :D

I've now gone to two different DOOL sites, and everyone on both of them are up in this early morning discussing Stve and Kayla. I don't think any of them will go to sleep tonight.
