happy birthday remos! I'll be gone on Sat for a while.

So GW quoted in SOW this week

"It's time for a lot of the women to get their balls back!"

I think Tracy, Alexis, monica Sam, Lulu, Helena etc all can use that!

Thanks everyone. wub.gif

Lupe would have been interesting, but I'm okay with her not staying on. It's quite the Guza style though - killing someone as opposed to having them live their lives elsewhere. Oh well. What used to be story telling I could enjoy devolved into stupidity, so anything new will be welcome. But "get their balls back"? Note to Wolfe, take a look at a pre-schooler's biology book - women don't have "balls". Way too much male domination going on, sheesh.

That's awesome!

I hope Tracy is first in line to get her balls back!

Then I hope she yanks Luke's balls right off him and makes some earrings out of them. (Maybe the dead hooker can wear them if she's going to have an open casket at the wake.)

I'm encouraged by GW's quote! I hope to see it happen.

I really miss Tracy Quartermaine!

Hey everyone, I'm taking a break from all the Canada Day festivities here in Ottawa (nope, didn't see Will & Kate - didn't try to) and was just checking the IL on DD. Apparently GW's stuff starts airing week of July 26th and there is supposed to be a lot of Helena and Tracy that week. Here's hoping!

Anyway, off now to see fireworks. Ta ta

Unfortunately not together tho!

Here is the july SON sneek peek

GENERAL HOSPITAL: JULY PREVIEW

Jason finds himself on a positively romantic mission.

On their journey, Lulu and Dante face grave danger from not one but two forces.

The Brenda, Sonny, Carly and Jax equation is changed forever after Sonny shows just how far he'll go to protect Carly and hers.

Siobhan and Elizabeth may be forced to put their war aside when dark forces threaten Lucky in a truly profound way.

Nikolas and the Quartermaines reemerge in Port Charles.

There is another article on SON about GW. I'll try to find it.

Ravenbeauty has all but spelled out from her latest column that it is Tony out in Sept and another shocker which I can only imagine is Mo. Sounds like Alan will be back for a few episodes.

I'm leaving early tomorrow for Calif! I'm sure I'll check in!

Little scoop--AZ supposedly takes a liking to Tracy! I'm sure JE/BW will be entertaining!

Hope everyone has a happy 4th.

Here is the other article. Hard to tell what is the writer and what was really what GW said

http://networkedblogs.com/jUem5

It was June 8 when newly appointed "General Hospital" head writer Garin Wolf previewed to TV Guide Magazine's Michael Logan that "sometimes they come back" in reference to what fans can expect from his tenure as the shows top scribe. Since then word broke that Leslie Charleson would be returning to the soap as Dr. Monica Quartermaine nearly a year after being placed on recurring status, but never seen or used since. Also expected to return in recurring capacities are Tyler Christopher (Nikolas Cassadine) and Ingo Rademacher (Jasper 'Jax' Jacks), who were both fired while under the Robert Guza Jr. dictated writing regime. Also showing their face for a lengthier stay than originally thought, and in a recurring capacity, is Constance Towers whose Helena Cassadine is finding herself a new boy toy after many years of lacking a 3 dimensional personality, the return of Luke Spencer (Anthony Geary) and more Tracy Quartermaine (Jane Elliott).

"I want to make this a nice, easy transition. I want to bring balance to the show. I'm very big on secrets and romance and triangles. I'm a child of [Charles] Dickens and Doug Marland. I love "Dexter" and "Desperate Housewives." I'm very eclectic. I love to combine a lot of different things, which is what's great about soap operas. I love multi-generational stories," said Wolf of what viewers could expect from him directly as a longtime fan of the medium himself. Regarding "GH" specifically, Wolf made it clear that "this is an amazing cast and I want to use everybody. I want to mix it up and bring back the entertainment. I want to bring back the reality to the characters' lives. If you're a cop, what is your life really like? Even in the most outrageous storyline, there must be some kind of identifiable emotion. I don't care if we're talking about a mobster or a plumber — you have to watch and say, 'I know how he feels. I've been there.' And we really need romance. For me, that's all about yearning and obstacles. You have to know who you are rooting for and rooting against. I want to bring back villainy — dishy villainy, fun villainy, dangerous villainy. This is going to date me. My earliest soap opera memory is having a crush on Ann Flood on 'The Edge of Night' when I was 7 years old. And I went from there to 'Dark Shadows.' Growing up, comic books were soap operas for me."

All the fun and excitement fans have been hearing about from stars of the drama series, including Nancy Lee Grahn (Alexis Davis), who has been very vocal on Twitter, kicks off on Tuesday, July 26, when Wolf penned episodes begin airing on ABC. Almost immediately fans can expect love, romance, fights for survival, passion, courtship, reconciliations, introductions, jealousy and even a touch of "Cougar Town" (think early episodes from the shows first season) to hit their screens. In response to what she knows of Wolf's material material, Grahn shared on her Twitter page " "It's going to be all about women. This team loves them. That's not to say we'll all be saints, but it'll be about us. The pace will be picking up. The actors have worked with him [Wolf] before and they are all happy."

Sources tell Soap Opera Network that with all returning cast members and the creative changes hitting "General Hospital," you should expect to hear that those returning actors will be not be offered contracts. "All of these actors are being kept on recurring in an attempt to keep costs down in order to keep the show on the air," said a source. The same also holds true for other daytime soaps as well. "This is a trend we can expect to see more of, not just on 'GH,' but in daytime in general," our source continued. "It's been headed this way for a long time," a daytime star told Soap Opera Network requesting anonymity during Emmy weekend earlier this month. "We're going to see less and less contracts and more people on recurring basis. Unfortunately this is the way its been headed and in order for daytime to survive, this is the way it has to be."

The cost cutting idea is one that makes the most sense when you think about it. You're not guaranteed to have to pay people who aren't being used, so the big gamble will be either risk losing key players to current storylines or lose millions of dollars on stars you don't use, only to see you're show canceled due to budget constraints. In order to avoid this all together, it is also likely we will see actors continuiously picked up for cycles as they are used and then being dropped before the next cycle kicks in.

here is ravenbeauty column

Ravenbeauty's General Hospital Dish

I see that my two major September outs from weeks back has made the rounds. Facebook readers know I gave you a clue two weeks back when I stated that it would be two males. Bye Bye old friend, "The Haunted Star" will miss you. The other one will start a riot. He will be revealed, as it gets closer to announcement time (a girl only has so much flame retardant on hand)! Another announcement is on it's way over the coming months. Some may feel betrayed, but don't be angry, performers are only acting in accordance to the gag orders placed in their contracts. It's why so many have later apologized to their fans for having to lie to them (they have no choice).

Now for the big one I have purposely avoided for a while now with good reason (it's that elephant in the room again). I have had many of you ask why I have been so strangely quiet when that certain leading lady was mentioned several times on my Facebook. You asked me why I never touched it ever again after I said the following in my May 22, 2011 column:

Many people are very happy with this news, but not everyone is jumping up and down. One major leading lady may be cut to bring back an old favorite, and one very front burner male may be cut back entirely! This is going to get interesting....

If nothing has been changed or tossed, expect to see Tamara Braun back on canvas once again. I don't make the news, I merely report it. This may have been tossed for all I know (I don't have ABC's offices wiretapped or anything)! When I first got wind of this (which led to that statement in my May column), I was sickened to be perfectly frank. I adore the woman in question who may find herself in danger contractually. Let us hope I am dead wrong (it's OK to be wrong). In this case, I welcome it.

Sonny is stunned by Brenda's betrayal. Alexis is sickened by Jax's new method in gaining legal ground over Carly. Brenda turns on Sonny, and as I mentioned back in January, may still leave with Jax in tow (her secret intact as well). I told you it would be a great summer for Ethan and Kristina, but like Romeo & Juliet, they have many obstacles ahead of them (some well meaning Port Charles residents make a mess of things first).

Spinelli's new persona gets him in trouble with Anthony. Maxie and Spinelli fans will be smiling here very soon. I told you a few weeks back that Alan Quartermaine was on his way back (it may not be in the way fans had hoped, but it's an olive branch we will happily accept nonetheless)! Champagne corks everywhere for fans of Jason and Sam!

OK guys, that's it for now. Hope everyone has a fabulous weekend! XOXO!

Well, I've said it before and we will have to wait and see, but I it doesn't make sense for TG to return briefly in September and that's that. The King of Daytime is going to have a whole lot more fanfare involved with his departure than a quick week or two wrap up.

I'll be more than happy if MB is the male leaving though. His wagon was hitched pretty tightly to Guza's so he might see his days in the sun numbered and wanting to get out while he still looks like he's on top. The bit about TB returning could be interesting, but it only makes sense if MB is sticking around since she was his most successful Carly (not the show's mind you. That honour still goes to originator SBr). All the attention might have been on LW, but IMO it was IR's Jax who made this version tolerable.

Happy Birthday, Remos !

I am intrigued by Tracy/AZ. I wonder what Garin Wolfe will do with Tracy. He said he's a fan of Doug Marland, so will he do old school Tracy with old school Luke? Could be very interesting. Any bets on whether he is taking them in a new direction or breaking them up for good?

I do miss old, snarky, scheming Tracy, but there's no reason why some of the growth she's had the last few years can't stay with her. Wouldn't make much sense if it didn't.

Somehow...I think oldschool Luke and Tracy would be far more interesting. Maybe not as "fun", but definitely more complex to watch.

I guess the comments mean JE will soon be on recurring, not that it'll make much difference. We might even see her more, when she has a SL.

Now, if TIIC would find a way to bring in Larry Ashton for a little while.

Larry is dead. Sorry.

I'm not worried in the least that GW will put JE on recurring, but I am convinced she will become more of a presence. And Old School Tracy with Old School Luke would work just fine. The basic reality of soaps is characters need to be in relationship in order for them to have a story - and since LuNacy is the Vet Couple who hasn't really been explored (at least Tracy's story certainly hasn't) I doubt GW will look that gift horse in the mouth. Besides, Tracy is now firmly the Maternal Figure for the Spencer household and holds that family together. TG's Luke can't do that anymore because he's gone so much of the year. Now having said that, it doesn't mean that Hellzabub can't play Luke while AZ plays Tracy, forcing LuNacy to deal with other issues. Monica will probably be pulled into the Jason/Michael universe (hey, at least she'll be seen) but LuNacy are in play on the other side of the canvas. (It's also through Tracy that Luke will be "redeemed" - the Spencer Sibs don't have that kind of emotional pull since those children will always forgive their father.)

Anyway, time will tell and all this negative speculation will only help ulcers, nothing else.

BTW - on a totally different note - thanks for the birthday greetings. wub.gif You guys make me feel so special. Rusty's new BFF also had a birthday yesterday, and since she's only 9 I had no problem celebrating her instead. Today is for Mama though, Lobster and Cheesecake are in my immediate future. YUM!!!

Larry doesn't have to be dead. Him being on canvas does not have to romantically interfere with Lacy, but if it does, that just makes for interesting story. I just would love to see the character pop in. He is the kind of character that could fit in almost anywhere.

He could be there for Ned or Brooke, or be the catalyst in an adventure story. I'd love to see that dream story come true, where Helena or someone has trapped Larry and Brook and Tracy somewhere and Luke is coming to rescue them.

Hugo Napier was criminally underused and probably would be this time, too, but it'd be great to get to see Larry again before GH goes *POOF*.

On this we agree.

I think AZ is going to be Lukey's competition - at least that's how spoilers sound. Could be interesting having both Luke and Tracy being attractive to the town's Criminally Insane and trying to manoeuvre their way around them.
