1000 posts!

In honor of 1000 posts, Chapter 77 and Chapter 78 of Oh, Baby. Warning: I've invented 3 of Tracy's "friends" from the charity endowment. I probably shouldn't have since these Baby Shower Chapters are going to be the only time you see the characters, but... *shrugs* Apologies if I disappoint.

I didn't say that, did I?!? :o I remember 5, not 6, but close enough. LOL. If I did say there were only 3, maybe I meant 3 decent scenes since the first 2 were teeny-tiny ones. Hmm...

knh, I had a feeling the jacket was from the Tracy/Coleman stuff, but wasn't sure. Thanks for the photos! It would have taken me forever to remember the jacket was from those Skye/Detective Donut scenes. Hey, was this also the same jacket she wore when Jax locked her in the closet?

So...Will Tracy or will she not be on today?!?

*crosses fingers*

Doesn't look like TQ is on today, but we got NEW Oh, Baby!!!!! MsQ, I was so amused by these last two scenes. Girl, I've been to that baby shower. Heck, I've thrown that baby shower. I felt for Monica so much--I just can't imagine any situation where Tracy would enjoy the torture inflicted on pregnant women in the name of free stuff.

I'm looking forward...in fear and hesitation...to the, erm, party games.

MinervaFan, I have to agree with you on that. When Tracy said "I'm done" she wasn't speaking of their relationship it was all about Luke and his wallowing. Quartermaines don't wallow and they don't tolerate in others. And as for Tracy proping Lulu, that was more about what Tracy secretly wants Edward to say to her. She had every right to say that to Luke because if anybody understands Lulu it's Tracy. Now the fact that Lulu is still calling her step-monster makes me furious but thats a whole other topic. grrrrrr

YIPPIE for Ms.Q on her 1000th post! and for the Oh, Baby updates! They were great! :D

Many thanks for the feedback! It was kind of an awkward situation to write, and it's only going to get more awkward. LOL.

Hmm, SOD apparently "slammed" GH for rewriting the backstory of a couple of SLs...Most notably, Luke/Laura/Tracy and Tracy's "long hidden desire" for Luke. Tracy wasn't on canvas when LnL were married, and when she was on the show, she was too busy trying to get Mitch to marry her, blah, blah, blah.

My comments: I might have mentioned this before, but I don't think this "rewrite" is such a big deal. Why couldn't have secretly admired Luke all those years ago? Why couldn't she have watched him from the sidelines? *shrugs*

Oh! I'm in the breakroom for a bit:

Edit: ILoveTracyQ, where have you been? You post at SOC and not here? *hands on hips* :P

Awwww Staci I just don't have much to say........

I LOVED Monday's Tracy/Luke scenes, short as they were.

I too thought Jane as Tracy was about to cry there at the end.

This show so wastes Jane. :(

May pop back in later, I was going to stick around here and do some work, but ya know what?

I think I'm going to call it a night.

Of course now that I have my home computer I can pop (almost typed poop LOL) back in later.

My sister. I owe her big. She let me borrow the money for the computer, and she put it on her credit card.

I have to get her something EXTRA nice for Christmas. :) LOL

re: Tracy's "long hidden desire" (that is such a Harlequin title waiting to happen) for Luke. Dudes, you can be attracted to someone without wanting to act on it. You can be actively chasing another person (or persons) and still take a look at somebody and say, Wow, I bet he'd be good in bed. She actually says, and I quote, "I always figured Luke Spencer would be good in bed" during the Coleman morning-after scene. This is not a new thing, her attraction to him. Back during the Dead Man's Hand sl, they just oozed sexual chemistry as they were fighting over the right to own a casino in town. There is no reason at all that Tracy could not have been attracted to him in the past.

So. There.

SOD, I know you have made me a minor-league celebrity, but you need to take a time out now.

Oh, our phone line to the computer is out, so I may not be online at home as much till we can get it fixed. (I'm hooked to the main line right now.) Regency, I'm going to try to get some of the edits on your stories done. Feel free to like, you know, um, write some more. These are awesome, especially The Die Falls.

Oooh new fics. Me likey !

And Debbie, your post was so good I just had to copy and say "ditto".

Luke has ALWAYS had an eye for a pretty lady.

Even AFTER he married Laura.

It doesn't mean he would have left her for Tracy.

But WOW, you'd be amazed at the number of people online that go all spasmodic over it.

It's like sacrilege, to even hint they might have been attracted to, and noticed, other people.

Even when history has already proven otherwise !

I just.don't.get.it.

My personal opinion about SOD? Eh. They parrot whatever the majority view of the message boards is, and most of the boards were outraged about it.

People on the mag staffs surf the boards, are probably posting members of most boards, and get a lot of their opinions and ideas from the boards.

So yeah, they wanna sell mags and impress people? They tell em what they think the majority wants to hear.

Meh. ICAM with everything you said. Both of them have before now, before Laura came back, acknowledged in one form or another that they noticed the other one.

Who knew such a thing would be the crime of the century? Because with Laura awake and alive and all...Luke shouldn't even be giving Tracy the time of day.

He should be busy kissing Laura's feet.

Or something. <_<

Yeah I know I'm going to sound obsessive about it, but I know Staci might know right where to look: what date was it, ( I know it was after Helena was recaptured last year and BEFORE Lacy married) that Luke said to Tracy, " certain women can capture my attention just by walking into a room. You've always been one of those women for me, Tracy."

I think this was the same episode where Tracy tells Luke he has just as much a chance of getting his hands on that money as he does getting his hands on her. But I can't remember what day that was.

I'd like to find the transcript.

BTW...I'd just like to add, that in Debbie's quote, Tracy DID say, " I ALWAYS knew Luke Spencer would be good in bed,"

And Luke DID say, " You've ALWAYS been one of those women for me, Tracy."

I don't think it's a rewrite, for them to admit again, that there was an attraction from way back when.

It's not like they said they had an affair, or dated, or had a love child, or anything that was remotely unfaithful to Mitch or Laura (although to be fair, Luke and Laura weren't even an official couple while Tracy was still around....Laura was still married to Scott.)

Anyhoo...I'm off to bed. :)

Here's to TQ tomorrow. :)

It's kind of late. 11pm central, but I'm in here...

http://pub13.bravenet.com/chat/show.php/1049349012

Michele, the date is May 17, 2005:

Luke: You know, there are certain women who can just walk into a room and you can't take your eyes off them. You've always been one of those women for me.

Tracy: I love it when you flirt with me.

CLICK ME for GHH2 Transcript.

Oh, and smirks, I won't say this at SOC, 'cause I don't want to disrupt the challenge, but you are really, really good! LOL.

For everyone else's information (TracyLuv knows), there's a challenge at SOC. You must choose one of your favorite characters and hate them for 24 hours. You must respond negatively to posts about them, and or start a negative thread about them. smirks chose Tracy.

Edit: Oops. knh posted the transcript already. And yay! Page 198!

Haha! Sorry, nex! Thanks for the videos, by the way!

So, I have this bad feeling that we've seen the last of Luke until whenever he returns, and you know what that means? No more Tracy. Wizard (now known as Merlin at the NEW SoapDish) still has no spoilers for her for the week of December 4th or the 11th. :(

ILoveTracyQ, June 2, 2005: CLICK ME.

Tracy: Morning, lover. You know, I always figured that Luke Spencer would be good in bed. But you are -- you were magnificent.

    • That's always been my thought. I can't imagine that the show would play up the unseen AD so far in advance without them casting a *star*. After today's episode, I wonder if he'll somehow be connected with Diane. It was strange that Diane mentioned her very distant family today. I can't recall Diane ever talking about her backstory. Maybe he's her much younger brother?  It's also possible he's connected to Diane during her time in LA. Sally's already said she crossed paths with him. OC, I think Dumas is Mariah's mistake.... As a side note, it was good to see some mixing it up - Adam with Clare/Kyle and Sharon with Tessa.
    • Here's the place to share some memorable criticism. You don't have to agree with it, of course (that's often where the fun starts). Like I mentioned to @DRW50, Sally Field was a favorite punching bag in the late '80s and early '90s.   Punchline (the 1988 movie where she and Tom Hanks are stand ups): "It's impossible to tell the difference between Miss Field's routines that are supposed to be awful, and the awful ones that are supposed to be funny." -- Vincent Canby, New York Times. "It's not merely that Field is miscast; she's miscast in a role that leaves no other resource available to her except her lovability. And (David) Seltzer's script forces her to peddle it shamelessly." -- Hal Hinson, Washington Post. "As a woman who can't tell a joke, Sally Field is certainly convincing. ... Field has become an unendurable performer ... She seems to be begging the audience not to punch her. Which, of course, is the worst kind of bullying from an actor. ... She's certainly nothing like the great housewife-comedian Roseanne Barr, who is a tough, uninhibited performer. Sally Field's pandering kind of 'heart' couldn't be further from the spirit of comedy." -- David Denby, New York   Steel Magnolias: The leading ladies: Dolly Parton: "She is one of the sunniest and most natural of actresses," Roger Ebert wrote. Imagining that she probably saw Truvy as an against-type role, Hinson concluded it's still well within her wheelhouse. "She's just wearing fewer rhinestones." Sally Field: "Field, as always, is a lead ball in the middle of the movie," according to Denby . M'Lynn giving her kidney to Shelby brought out David's bitchy side. "I can think of a lot more Sally Field organs that could be sacrificed." Shirley MacLaine: "(She) attacks her part with the ferociousness of a pit bull," Hinson wrote. "The performance is so manic that you think she must be taking off-camera slugs of Jolt." (I agree. If there was anyone playing to the cheap seats in this movie, it's Shirley.) Olympia Dukakis: "Excruciating, sitting on her southern accent as if each obvious sarcasm was dazzlingly witty," Denby wrote. Daryl Hannah: "Miss Hannah's performance is difficult to judge," according to Canby, which seems to suggest he took a genuine "if you can't say something nice ..." approach. Julia Roberts: "(She acts) with the kind of mega-intensity the camera cannot always absorb," Canby wrote. That comment is so fascinating in light of the nearly 40 years Julia has spent as a Movie Star. She is big. It's the audience who had to play catch up. And on that drag-ish note ... The movie itself: "You feel as if you have been airlifted onto some horrible planet of female impersonators," Hinson wrote. Canby: "Is one supposed to laugh at these women, or with them? It's difficult to tell." Every review I read acknowledged the less than naturalistic dialogue in ways both complimentary (Ebert loved the way the women talked) and cutting (Harling wrote too much exposition, repeating himself like a teenager telling a story, Denby wrote). Harling wrote with sincerity and passion, Canby acknowledged, but it's still a work of "bitchiness and greeting card truisms." The ending was less likely to inspire feeling good as it was feeling relieved, according to Denby. "(It's) as if a group of overbearing, self-absorbed, but impeccable mediocre people at last exit from the house."
    • I tend to have two minds about Tawny (Kathy Najimy) fainting during Soapdish's big reveal. You're the costume designer, if anything, you should have known the whole time. I guess it's an application of what TV Tropes calls the "Rule of Funny." Every time I watch Delirious, I always want the genuine romance in John and Mariel's reunion at the deli counter to last longer. Film critics had their knives out for Sally in this period. I'll start a separate thread on the movies page.
    • I don't think so, but I wouldn't be surprised if he was Dumas this whole time.
    • Tamara Tunie was serving up grand dame diva fierceness.
    • Nick told Victoria that he and Sharon had married in England.  Victoria was shocked.  Then she realized he was kidding.  He confirmed it was a joke and they're platonic. I don't even know what to say about that.
    • It's funny you say that because part of the entertainment of the trials on the show are all the day players who come on as witnesses and jurors.  I'm certain it was like the Law and Order of its time. It employed so many New York actors, that if you look close enough, there's usually someone vaguely recognizable in the courtroom.
    • I will defend Dante.  People already suspect he may be a bit unstable from time to time (from his time as a prisoner).  And, he's taking care of other people's kids from time to time.  So, he has reason to be cautious with those in his care.
