Well, to be fair, there is zero callback to Sunset Beach because of this

I think it's very hard to put a handful of scenes with two actors that have no actual character history and make it spark.  They have personal history to build on, but very little else.

I thought the scenes at the diner were interesting but agree that NLG and Lane Davies don’t really spark here. NLG said they stopped her and Lane from sparring during the court scenes as well and that was such a mistake IMO.

Carly and Brennan have nice chemistry. More of these two and less of her and John please

I hate that they stalled so long in getting Sam, Spinelli and Maxie back involved in Jason’s return but I’m loving these scenes.

Jane Elliot made Chase’s actor finally put in some work. I thought the ending with Alexis finding out Greggory died over the phone was good.

I thought the concept of the cliffhanger was nice, but it was executed so poorly.

Overall, I guess I liked the wedding. I definitely love the majority of the dresses. And as I mentioned I lived for that Liason scene. Awwww at Spin/Maxie apparently on their road back to each other only to get interrupted by Sam going for bat for Jason. And Lois was soooooooo in her element as Mother of the Bride. I kinda would have liked to see a montage for BLQ and Chase and found it odd to not get one.

And Yaaaasss to Beast Brennan being back and plotting to get out of jail. Hopefully, heading right for Anna.

Speaking of Anna...lol at the dis she gave Sonny.  I'm going to be sad to see how her (and Laura) are going to be with Sonny once the writers change again. Because I felt before this writing change and during it that Anna would be a great adversary to Sonny as long as they don't dumb her character down. Something PM made sure not to do....and I cannot trust EK NOT to do.

LOL

Agree when Brennan was introduced. And I love his with Anna as well. Good to see I have some more to look forward to.

Lol. Tru dat apparently.

A or B.

And no offense to Hayden or the actress who played her, but unless Jeff Webber is coming back again for some messy conflict, the only sister of Elizabeth I would like to see is SARAH.

I felt she had more of that banter chemistry on GH with Hearst and Tony Geary (pre 2002ish) than with Lane on GH. I have only seen Mason and Julia in clips, They did crackle together in what I saw. Not on GH though.

    • Yes, they did.  I still have them.  I think there were three.  AMC and GH as well.
    • Ah okay, thats what I thought. I was hoping I missed the announcement somewhere. Thanks for the clarification.
    • A new day in Salem… and a new day for Days.  I like the way everybody found out and absorbed the news about John’s death, and how they all eventually found their way to Marlena’s to offer their condolences. I’m not particularly sure why they waited until the next day to tell everybody but I don’t really mind it.  We finally got Roman’s perspective! His scenes with Kayla were one of the best parts of today. I’m glad that Roman is thankful for everything that John did for his kids. I agree with posters who said that he should’ve had a scene like this with John, but I’m happy we got this at least.  Julie was used very well today too. She’s definitely the best person for Marlena to have scenes with at the moment. Hopefully, Julie continues to be there for her. And yes, I totally agree with Marlena and Belle sending EJ away when he came to the apartment. I’m curious to see what’s going to happen to his and Belle’s relationship in the aftermath of all this. And, while I enjoyed most of Brady and Kristen’s scenes, I still think the ship has sailed for them. Hopefully, the aftermath of John’s death causes Brady to finally end this thing with her once and for all.  And, I see a lot of people were wearing some kind of shade of purple today.

    • Wow, I love that current and former actors are participating in this. I barely recognize Staci Greason! She looks fine, just very different. But I will be happy to hear anecdotes from her. I shipped RoJohn and Isabella hard back in the day, and I sobbed buckets in my dorm room at college when Izzy B passed. Honestly, I'm interested in everyone's stories. Drake seemed like he was well loved among the cast.
    • When she first appeared, I was sure she was setting Tyrell up for a prank. She was too much of a manic pixie dream girl- I wasn't surprised Tyrell also became suspicious. Now I'm not so sure. If Jessica genuinely likes Tyrell, it seems like a missed opportunity to not have started her out as a bully, then we see her gradually catch feelings for Tyrell.  The McBrides are definitely the "C" family of BTG. They always get last priority. There have been a few times where the Doug/Vanessa/Joey characters reference off screen conversations which seem too important to not show us. Like when Doug thanked Joey for giving him extra time to pay off the loan. When did that happen? Or when we abruptly moved from Vanessa/Joey at Uptown to Vanessa/Doug in the hotel room. The McBrides don't even have their own set - even though Vanessa is a realtor. It's a shame because I am a fan of the characters and actors.

I am also adjusting to KR as Ted but I feel that AM and MJ had way more chemistry as father and daughter than AM and KR. We saw Eva dream of having a real relationship with MJ's version of Ted for months so it's a bit of a bummer not to have that payoff with the original actor except for those scenes in MJ's last episode.  Something I noticed about Eva today is how she takes genuine delight in being a schemer. As badly as she wants to be a Richardson, she still has so much of her mom in her. It was jarring seeing her earnestly promise to steer clear of Leslie in her scene with Ted, then immediately switch attitudes when her mom showed up.  I'm very surprised with how quickly the accident story has been moving along. I was sure that it would be months if not years before people figured out it was Leslie on the motorcycle, not to mention responsible for the potassium overdose. I'm looking forward to seeing how MVJ and Guza avoid writing Leslie into a corner.  Finally, I have been loving the Articulettes story. Bonita Brisker was just the right amount of OTT - remember Sharon is supposed to be even more angry than Tracy is. If Sharon didn't come in swinging, people would say she fell flat. The way Sharon and Tracy describe the breakup is so Supremes-meet-Original Recipe Destiny's Child. I get the sense that MVJ is re-writing the Return to Love Tour as a roman a clef, and I love it. I'm looking forward to finding out what the secret they share is. If Dante Green is as shady as Berry Gordy was, it's something dark. If/when they go through with the reunion, I expect Dante to show up and claim to own the Articulettes trademark in a Lou Pearlman-esque twist.
    • Other than hanging out with Liz, all of Lucky's stories have been stalled out or dropped; the relationship with his son; his wanderlust. He hasn't been involved in any of the action/adventure or con artist stuff. I don't think he's even had a scene with Sidwell since the latter came to town. He's a real after thought. I doubt he's long for the show.
