Thoughts:
I am not surprised that Vanessa reached out to Dani over Nicole. That is a smart decision.
Looks like this visitor is someone who Joey was not expecting, but they were expecting Joey. That is very interesting.
Of course Dana is overhearing the power players of Genoa City arriving in Fairmont Crest for Martin's fundraiser.
My God... Jacob is really being a real negative Nancy to every single person checking in on him, except for Katherine. That is very, very telling.
Joey assuming Heather is an associate of the Impaler and not even thinking she herself could be the Impaler is laughable.
Wow. Heather is truly a deeper, darker version of Joey. And going to London? That feels quite rich and very like Heather. I love seeing her perk Joey's interest by simply being in his presence. And BHAM! She ~is~ the Impaler. That is excellent. I know Joey is probably crapping in his pants.
I get that Jacob has some feelings about Derek and his death, but much like Ashley, taking it out on those who care for you is not the answer, and I hope they know this deep down.
Oh, Heather holds a grudge because of how their father wanted her to fall into traditional roles that men seem to have for women. And there is nothing more dangerous than a woman scorned or with a desire to exact revenge.
Dani is right: Joey's apartment is absolutely not what I would have expected from him, but it suits him. Although seeing both Dani and Vanessa in the apartment, it does suit them so well.
Dana wanting Eva to swap out Izaiah for herself at the fundraiser is laughable.
Dani calling out glaringly alarming details that Vanessa is kind of smoothing over is appropriate. It shows that while she accepts Vanessa's decision, she is also going to call out things that are not going to work in the long run.
So, the Impaler is removing herself from the DMV, but it sounds like she wants to plant herself within the DMV in other arenas.
So, based on Izaiah and Jacob's conversation, Darlene came around to Naomi simply because she is a Dupree, and Eva's non-relation to that makes her less than both the Duprees and the Hawthornes. I suspected that.
Dana saying she will behave is another red flag that she will NOT behave and will find a way to act a fool.
Vanessa, let it be a glaring red flag that Joey needed to give permission for your friend to come and visit you. And Joey, what catastrophy did you avoid? š¤£
So Joey is just not going to tell Vanessa that Heather is the Impaler? That sounds like a dangerous game to play and puts Vanessa in direct line of danger. Smart. Very smart. /sarcasm
Oh, Dani's little "good" remarks felt very pointed and a bit mischievous. I like that.
Megan, why would you mention the donating and hefty pricing?
Notes:
Slater and Tate did exceptional work with the script work today. Again, Slater brings such a classic flow to the scripts they break down, and Tate is solid in their dialogue.
Welcome to Beyond the Gates, Ashley Jones. Surprised at how much I am buying her in the role of Heather right now. However, someone like Sarah Joy Brown would have absolutely been more compelling and a bit more rooted for the material that I know is surely about to come.
I semi-appreciate them keeping Dana's character trait in the realm of money and consumption of it; it shows that she has not walked into money with the right mindset.
