Came here to say this lol glad the tv promo rollout has begun.

I almost missed it. Y&R is putting me to sleep but I recognized the beginning of the promo because of Errol posting it here.

Glad they started running it on TV! I guess my prediction of something dropping the week The Talk ended was correct.

Now that we have something, I'm really excited for January and February and seeing how they amp up the promo. I hope they hit up mainstream outlets as well as interviews with Black outlets.

Considering outlets like the Atlanta Journal-ConstitutionDeadline Hollywood, the Hollywood Reporter, TheWrap, TV Insider, TVLine and Variety, as well as the usual soap-focused media outlets. And I have noticed Blavity, a digital media company and website based in Los Angeles targeting black millennials, and Blex Media, have also reported on the serial.

I'm actually curious what they'll do for a theme since we haven't had a new one in yonks and there's nothing current to compare it to. The Bold and the Beautiful is very 80s prime time soap, so I'm not sure what they'll mold it on. Do we know who is composing music for the show yet?

We haven't had a new soap in yonks let alone a theme to go with it. This is why I have been super critical of all of this. On the surface, this show was never supposed to happen, as it has been heavily implied for years that this was a dead genre. This is why I feel this show can't afford any kind of a misstep, big or small or anything in between.

You can feel however you want. I'm just not sure it's necessary for you to respond in this way any time this show doesn't match what you created as fanfiction in your head months ago for its characters, cast, story, setting and now opening theme.

And honestly, CBS and P&G are not paying the entirety of the show's annual budget (or more) to the Ray Charles estate to license that song in perpetuity. That's not realistic for a soap in the 2020s, let alone the 2000s.

Nor should they. It's a nice song but not worth the money.

What I'm talking about has absolutely nothing whatsoever to do with what you've posted here. And like I told you months ago.......DEUCES!

There's zero need for them to license a song when they can just hire someone to compose a theme lol. Looking at the promo I would assume the shots of the cast are from the intro. So that makes me think it'll have a 30-40 sec intro theme to make it gel well with the two other soaps.

But both Y&Rs and B&Bs theme are so different and obviously influenced from their respective eras. I'm just not sure what a soap theme would sound like in 2025. :)

I must've missed that post.

Designing Women already used "Georgia" as its opening theme anyway.

I would like the theme to be something classic and orchestral that can be used for the entire duration of the show's hopefully long run. I love when soap themes have different versions that can recur as motifs in the incidental score, like the "B&B Waltz." Or "sad" versions of the close that can play after poignant episodes, "Julia's Theme" on EastEnders.

My favorite composers for soaps are David Kurtz and Jack Allocco who wrote so many memorable B&B cues that were used for years and years. There music gave B&B an unmistakable style and musical identity at a time when other soaps were moving toward generic-sounding stock music. I would love to see them brought on board for BTG.

I also like the concept of giving certain characters specific cues that play when they appear. Some favorites are the "Brooks Family Theme" and "Kay's Theme" on Y&R, "Carla's Theme" on OLTL or "Destiny Calling" for Josh and Reva on GL.
