Since it will be set in the DC area and the one character is a former Senator, it would be nice to get a CAPITOL reference.

Why?  CAPITOL never even bothered featuring African-Americans throughout their entire run, even though D.C. was just as heavily populated by African-Americans then as it is today.

AMC did look really good that last year after it moved to the west coast. Before that? Those last few years in NYC were dreadful, but I’m not sure how much JHC could have done with the limitations in place.

I think she did the best she could, honestly. But, the move to the west coast really improved things, especially since [most] of the sets were re-build from ground zero. And I felt she and her team did a good job with them, as well as the outdoor scenes (more so than General Hospital ever has done).

Because people just want that connection, even though there is zero reason for it. Not all soaps need to be related, LOL.

I feel like The Gates will have a slightly different production model vs. the other 4 soaps. We’ll have to wait and see, but I feel like they’re trying to do something slightly different, but still relatable to daytime audiences. I also think shooting in Atlanta will naturally give it a different tone.

Oh, absolutely, and that's exciting.

I could be wrong and please correct me but wasnt AMC still over-budget in California with JHC as EP?

I wouldn’t believe all the pro-Valentini/Carlivati propaganda Jamie Giddens/Daytime Confidential were dishing out at that time. OLTL was propped for budget management and still got cancelled at the same time as AMC

True but also it was rumored Anne Sweeney wanted GH canned at the same time

Since P&G is involved it would be cool if the show includes some P&G “Easter eggs” like they include in the Marvel movies.  For example,Jessica the psychiatrist was an intern at Cedars Hospital.  Betty and her senator husband had their biography written by Felicia Gallant, etc.  A character could mention Oakdale, Springfield, Bay City, Monticello, or Henderson. They don’t have to feature any specific characters- just mentions.

Couldn't someone like Jessica Griffin show up on The Gates since ATWT was a P&G soap?

I'm really hoping none of this happens. I'm hoping The Gates is its own production without connections. I get why people want this... but it's going to be 2025... leave things in the past.

If Betty is a former singer, then I present to you for your consideration:

But jokes aside, I'd like them to cast someone who can actually sing in the role and maybe had at least a few minor R&B hits. Surely, there most be some modern day Diahann Carroll milling about?
