First of all...Pikeman? RME.

But more seriously...Jason has been working with Wagger since NOVEMBER 2021??? Well...the words. And to make it even more delicious...I loved well one...all of the Robin mentions this week and two...Anna telling Jason about how he knew Wagger in his pre-accident life. I never though about that and it immediately layers all of their interactions of late. The history that the writers are digging up to remind me about what came before has been great.

Wow. They are really going to go there with Ava/Sonny. Not hating it, but surprised all the same.

It's a shame to have any Joss vs Kristina scenes now that there is the recast. They just don't have the same chemistry. Yet.

Hmmmm that fistfight. Some camera angles were good and looked like someone got punched. Other angles...not as much. That said, I didn't feel it was as bad as what little I've read here have mentioned. But...again...I just don't think the actors are ready from too heavy material yet.

Outside of that, this past week has been so far, so good.

ETA: I almost forgot. I LOVED that the writers played the Britt beat. I know it was mentioned when the next writers started among us. And I was wondering as well if they would mention that to him. And SB played it so well. Outside of the interference *cough*FV*cough* Britt/Jason were HOT.

I love all of this. And seeing you again period.

I like that you see the difference already as well. The fact that I can pick out so many examples right now of character beats and what's staying with me. Like Trina at the grave and talking about Paris. Or people who normally don't interact are interacting.

SB most definitely seem more motivated than I've seen him in a good minute.

And I KNOW!!! I would be hard pressed to see any kind of tweens or teens on soaps nowadays so for me, it's been refreshing to see kids again. Even BeBe's Maxie's kids. That's why it has not bugged me nearly as much as others. There's been some missteps, but they are nice to see.

Or maybe Tracy’s spiritual successor, lol. In my mind she followed in her parents footsteps and is a brilliant young doctor, but she also has a morally questionable side to her ala John Dixon from ATWT. An anti-heroine, with a heart, making the wrong decisions for the right reasons. Never a flat out unredeemable villain though.

I’m not sure we’ll get that effort of character development in this age though, but total fan fiction mode here, lol.

It's fine, my elaborate plans for Dr. Thomas Hardy and spiky feminist novelist Christina Collins (commoditizing her mother Lucy's scandalous past for a bestseller and a streaming deal), or Sarah Webber's fúcked-up perfect family, are even more overwrought. I would have Liz and Sarah's domineering mother Carolyn, a brilliant surgeon (and definitely recast), be the latest hospital villain though.

I read an article where the actor who plays Danny is getting acting lessons from Steve Burton. Especially those scenes between him and Jake.

Oviously likes & dislikes are subjective. Although I do not agree with the very popular negative view of Eden  & her character Joss, but I do know what people say they don't like about her.  And I may regret asking this but I have no idea what people dislike about either Taby or about Trina. As far as the basic tradecraft goes, she is fulfilling the job of an actor & her character does fit as the younger heroine.

I like the idea of Emma not being little miss perfect when/if she ever returns. She doesn’t have to be a full on villain. Monica and Alan were excellent doctors, mostly good people who both also had a dastardly side, especially when it came to each other in their younger days. There are many ways to have a character that is not sugary sweet, and it could be fun to watch.

With the characters in her age group rapidly going through college, I’d have Emma return to PC to attend medical school in a year or two, intern at GH, and live with Anna. That way she’s technically a full fledged adult and doesn’t necessarily need Robin or Patrick on the canvas to ground her.

Maybe her insecurity is feeling like she can never live up to Robin’s (or St. Robin as SJB’s Carly would say, lol) “perfect” image and thinking that’s what everyone expects from her.

They should have retired Robert and Holly back in May 2023, for the 60th anniversary. To think that Robert would have any qualms about being with Holly, and especially having that qualm be Diane, is so ridiculous and such character assassination.

It's sad that the show has never really invested in Scorpio since his return in 2006, never giving him his own storyline or exploring his character or what he did during his lost years. He was basically the star of the show from 1984-1992.

I've often said that if Ron Carlivati had been faced with the problem that Gloria Monty faced after the rape, that Ron would have immediately killed Luke & brought back Tony Geary as a new character named Myron, in a sleeveless sweater vest, and with a pocket protector filled with pens, pencils & instruments. Also he'd have read poetry to Laura.

It's a kind of game I play, "What Would Ron Carlivati Do?"

They really need to do a better job of moving Trina forward and beyond just being Josslyn’s BFF and the relationship with Spencer. It hasn’t helped that she’s barely been on since Spencer “died.” It’s hard to care longterm if the investment in the character just isn’t there beyond her association with her white friends who get featured a lot more (talk about bad optics).

It’s a new month and almost a month since Jason returned - it’s time to get other stories and characters not directly tied to that story moving. All the eggs can’t be in that one basket for too much longer.

Like others have said on this thread, I don't envy Korte/Mulcahey their jobs, because there are a LOT of characters and stories to have parse through right now.

First of all...BEEEEeeassssTTT!!! That said...VALENTIN is head of Pikeman. And not only that, Sonny MIGHT be currently off his meds again. Wow. Talk about a twist. But I guess it's good to see Valentin living up to his 2017 rumors. But if that is the case, I guess that's done-zo for him and Anna for sure because looks like he's on his way to being a villain again.

Speaking of villain...so I now wonder if Ava is working for Valentin. Because she's definitely was manipulating Sonny in those last scenes.

Jason above Bobbie's again?? It feels weird without Liz being there. No lie.

Rocco sighting!!! And I awww (and giggled at Olivia) during his scene with Dante. Who I was very happy to see him wake up.

I thought that was a pretty good week. It's funny how it really just focused on the after-effects of Jason's return with VERY LITTLE Jason honestly. We got to see people's points of views. We got to see people react. So much so it wasn't until Pikeman sprung back up with Beast and Valentin that I forgot about the A plot of it all. lol. I was just enjoying seeing everybody.

    • Overall, this was a satisfying episode. Eva's desperation to stop Dana was gut-wrenching. I know it is a cliche to say that Ambyr Michelle is the show's breakout star but she is dazzling. She makes the most out of every second she is on camera. And Kat has proven to be such a good rival. I'm looking forward to the fallout scenes from DD. At the Paley Center event Sheila Ducksworth said something to effect of everyone being heartbroken watching her scenes.  I'm also looking forward to seeing Dana interact the rest of the cast in her true identity since she has been more or less siloed for the past 3 months.
    • Finally, it's been a while since an entire episode was good.  LOL  Leslie and Eva are just the stars of this show. I get disappointed whenever they aren't gone.  So that was a good cliffhanger, however, I have to be a Debbie Downer just a bit......the music sucked and so did the fade out to credits. That final minute could've been so much better, so much soapier with proper background music and editing. I think it's time to move on and get a new music composer, music directors, and editors.  Bring in people who know how to produce a soap.
    • I agree. The McBrides, the Hawthornes, and the teens should have been there. Even Shanice and Ashley would have made sense to fill out the crowd since they work with Ted and Nicole. (Though BTG is probably saving the Lulu reveal for much later) I also would like to see the restaurant themed slightly differently for each event. We see the country club almost everyday, it would be nice to switch up the space for each special event with different dining chairs, different floral arrangements, pipe and drape, etc. They have done it before for the wedding and the fashion show. Everyone kept praising Eva for the party but the space looked the same as it always does.

Count me as a Doug fan
    • I mean...if I had to pick...this event so far definitely does not have enough extras vs Nicole's award event where I felt THAT had the right amount. This one...yeah...tear the lack of extras apart! lol.

Kim was cast before Don Stewart left GL.
    • Another I wonder about if they thought Joe Gallison would have more of an impact after his AW success. Was Agnes still involved with OLTL then?
    • I thought I was the only one. They do nothing for me. I enjoy Dani which seems to be an unpopular opinion here, but Andre to me is as unnecessary as Ashley and Derek. Not only should Vanessa, Nicole's bestie, and her husband have been there but where are Naomi and her man?
    • I think Vanessa not being there was a matter of choices in who to have there without overloading the interactions. Nicole is going to have to interact with her kids, parents, sister and of course have it out with Ted. Any interaction with Vanessa will have to be after the whole mess goes down.
